Ch. 141Final Volume: The Promise

After the war, Dick arranged for the remaining Demons in Kalimdor to be hunted and met Illidan, who planned to infiltrate the Demons. Maiev left her wounded Wardens in Dick’s care before pursuing Illidan, while Dick looked ahead to the unresolved troubles in the Eastern Kingdoms.

  • Dick sent Erigor back to Theramore with half the army and hired Warlocks and mercenaries to hunt Demons in Ashenvale.
  • Illidan told Dick he planned to travel the world and find a way to counter the Demons, then accepted Dick’s advice about the Sargerite Keystone and Draenor before leaving.
  • Maiev arrived looking for Illidan, and Dick persuaded her to entrust her wounded Wardens to him.
  • Maiev gave Dick an Owl Pendant and agreed that the Wardens could help train a scout force, then left to pursue Illidan.
  • Dick warned Maiev that Illidan intended to infiltrate the Demons and that the Wardens should avoid being picked off, but she insisted her mission was to capture him.

Ch. 142A minor clash

Darion returned to Light's Hope Chapel and confronted Berryman for insulting the Argent Dawn and the Fire of Justice. He expelled Berryman from the Mograine ranks, leaving the mercenaries stunned by his return and authority.

  • The Silver Hand's mercenary business expanded across West Darrowmere and the Ghostlands, while its authorized hunters and the Stratholme Regiment's recruits competed for territory.
  • Mercenaries at the Sacred Sword Tavern debated rumors about the First Expeditionary Force, and Berryman boasted that he served Renault and mocked the Fire of Justice.
  • Darion entered the tavern with armed companions and held his Blood-Red Greatsword to Berryman's neck.
  • Darion identified himself as a senior Silver Hand member, captain of the Argent Dawn's Second Knight Detachment, Baron of Theramore, and Mograine's second son.
  • Darion ordered Berryman expelled from the Mograine ranks, had his dog tag removed, and warned him to watch his mouth.

Ch. 143A minor dispute

Darion Mograine returned to the Northern Frontier, beat his brother Renault, and brought him before a meeting of the Order of the Silver Hand. His arrival interrupted plans to form the Scarlet Crusade, leaving Alexandros to face his estranged son and Liadrin.

  • Darion humiliated Berryman at the Sacred Sword Tavern, then urged the tavern owner, Uncle Juer Mo, to leave for Theramore.
  • Renault surrounded Darion and the Argent Dawn with black-armored auxiliaries and demanded that Darion serve him, but Darion punched him down and rejected his offer.
  • Darion's knights sounded their dragon-bone horns as the auxiliaries drew weapons, prompting Alexandros to send Fairbanks to investigate during the meeting at Light's Hope Chapel.
  • Alexandros secured approval to establish a separate order for commoner paladins and began discussing the Scarlet Crusade with the assembled commanders.
  • Darion entered the chapel with Liadrin, High Knight Erigor, and three hundred knights, threw Renault onto the floor, and greeted Alexandros as his father.

Ch. 144Big trouble

At Light's Hope Chapel, Liadrin and the Argent Dawn confronted Alexandros Mograine's Silver Hand over the planned Scarlet Crusade, threatening to declare it illegal and warning that it would split the order. As war broke out, dragons and Wardens surrounded the chapel, and Liadrin revealed that the Argent Dawn had come to root out corruption within the Silver Hand.

  • Alexandros Mograine demanded to know where Dick was, and Liadrin and Darion explained the Argent Dawn's ranks and its loyalty to Princess Caliea.
  • General Abbendis insulted Darion and the Argent Dawn, so Maiev appeared from his shadow and warned the Silver Hand not to question the Kaldorei's account of Mount Hyjal.
  • Liadrin declared that the Argent Dawn opposed the Scarlet Crusade and could place Stratholme and its recruits under Princess Caliea's jurisdiction; Erigor and Herod warned that proceeding would mean a war of faith.
  • Alexandros challenged the Argent Dawn, and Liadrin signaled the start of war as eight dragons tore through the chapel roof and Wardens surrounded the Silver Hand leaders.
  • Darion tried to take Whitemane away to Theramore, but she refused to abandon Alexandros; Darion told her the Silver Hand's problems ran deeper than she realized.
  • Liadrin identified the gnome warlock Wilfred as an expert in dealing with demons and said the Argent Dawn had come to confront corruption within the Silver Hand.

Ch. 145Corruption

The Argent Dawn exposed Balnazzar’s disguise as Grand Knight Dathrohan, but his scheme triggered attacks across Lordaeron and left the Silver Hand’s defenses in crisis. Alexandros Mograine acknowledged the corruption within his order, yet kept the Argent Dawn outside much of its territory and resolved to establish the Scarlet Crusade himself.

  • Alexandros Mograine attacked Wilfred as Dathrohan urged the Silver Hand to fight the Argent Dawn, and Dathrohan’s signal flare brought the confrontation to the brink of battle.
  • Whitemane intervened to stop the sides from clashing, while Duane, Abbendis, and Taelan tried to restrain the increasingly confused Mograine.
  • Liadrin ordered Wilfred to strike Dathrohan, and the attack revealed that he was the dreadlord Balnazzar, who escaped as a swarm of bats.
  • Abbendis sent the paladins to Crusader’s Hold as reports arrived of undead assaults at Crusader’s Hold, Chillwind Camp, and the Hillsbrad Foothills; Tirion Fordring was also reported severely wounded.
  • Mograine apologized to Liadrin and the Argent Dawn, then divided Eastweald while reserving Stratholme and the Ghostlands for them.
  • After the Argent Dawn left, Mograine told Fairbanks that Balnazzar had corrupted the Silver Hand and decided to establish the Scarlet Crusade himself.

Ch. 146A visitor in the dark

Dick traveled through Duskwood toward Raven Hill Cemetery to find Med'an, a child he had promised to seek out. He arrived at the Abercrombie home just as Med'an was preparing to leave, and recognized the child.

  • Dick received a green crystal after completing the “Corrupted Root” and entered Duskwood, where he headed north for Raven Hill Cemetery.
  • Dick and Anveena joked as they walked through the dark forest, while a half-human, half-wolf creature followed his trail.
  • At Raven Hill Cemetery, Med'an visited Abel Abercrombie and gave him medicinal liquor for Eliza.
  • Eliza sent Med'an home with boiled eggs, but someone knocked before he could leave.
  • Abel opened the door to Dick, who asked about Med'an and recognized him by his eyes.

Ch. 147The hermit of Raven Hill

Dick visited Abel and Eliza to check on Med'an, gave Abel a chance to leave dangerous Duskwood for work in Theramore, and took Med'an into the wilderness. When Med'an rejected his father Medivh and attacked Dick with magic, Dick subdued him and confronted the undead Mage Meryl Winterstorm.

  • Abel mistook Dick for an intruder, then recognized his Paladin badge and let him into the house.
  • Dick gave Abel a sealed letter offering him work in Theramore, and Abel accepted after Med'an urged him to leave Duskwood with Eliza.
  • Dick led Med'an away and explained that he had helped Abel because of his talent as an Apothecary.
  • Med'an demanded to know where his father was, and Dick told him Medivh had returned to his place of dreams and that the Blue Flame Rose was his final gift.
  • Med'an rejected Medivh and unleashed an Arcane Storm, but Dick seized him and suppressed his magic with Holy Light.
  • Meryl Winterstorm appeared from Darkwood and ordered Dick to put Med'an down, and Dick identified the undead Mage and challenged his influence over the boy.

Ch. 148The battle in the forest

Dick met Meryl Winterstorm and asked him to guide him into Karazhan and take Med'an to meet Aegwynn in Theramore. As they set out, Dick sensed a battle near a farm in Duskwood and went to investigate, while Garona revealed she planned to leave after the trip without telling Med'an she was his mother.

  • Meryl agreed to guide Dick through Karazhan and, afterward, take Med'an to Theramore to meet Aegwynn if she was there.
  • Meryl shrank his two houses with magic, and the group departed for Karazhan on his flying carpet.
  • Meryl warned Dick that Karazhan was alive, lay beside a cosmic rift, and had been leaking stronger dark magic into Duskwood.
  • Dick sensed a dark aura near a farm, drew Gorehowl, and ran toward a battle; Meryl encouraged Med'an to follow him and witness real combat.
  • Garona appeared to Meryl and agreed that Med'an should meet Aegwynn, but said she would leave after Karazhan without revealing herself to her son.

Ch. 149Scythe of Elune

Dick and Med'an found Velinde Starsong dying in a mine after Worgen attacked her, and Dick recognized the Scythe of Elune she carried. He used the scythe to revive her as a Worgen, leaving Velinde furious but alive and bound to the artifact.

  • Dick and Med'an entered the mine and found four Worgen attacking the mortally wounded Velinde Starsong.
  • Dick killed the Worgen while Med'an fought one, then tried to heal Velinde but could not save her.
  • Dick recognized the Scythe of Elune and chose to convert the dying Velinde into a Follower by thrusting the scythe into her heart.
  • The scythe revived Velinde as a Worgen, and she cursed Dick for transforming her.
  • Dick explained that moonleaf could restore Velinde's original form, and the Scythe of Elune revealed its Goldrinn's Envoy form as she became its wielder.

Ch. 151The Black Knights of Deadwind Pass

Meryl Winterstorm brought Dick, Med'an, and the unconscious Velinde to Karazhan, where Dick entered the cellar and fought three black knights to claim the Deadwind Harvester. The group entered the Wizard’s Tower, leaving Velinde outside, while the black knights began to revive and pursue the Scythe of Elune she carried.

  • Meryl warned the party about Medivh’s Mind Tricks magic circle in Deadwind Pass, and Dick subdued Velinde after she panicked and tried to flee.
  • At Karazhan, Meryl explained that the ghosts in the abandoned town would not harm people connected to the tower, but Velinde could not enter without Medivh’s permission.
  • Dick carried Velinde to the cellar, hid her in a haystack, and fought three black knights to retrieve the Deadwind Harvester.
  • Dick returned wounded and gave Meryl the cellar key, then followed Meryl and Med’an into the Wizard’s Tower.
  • After the group sealed the entrance, the black knights’ ashes began stirring, drawn to the Scythe of Elune Velinde carried while she slept.

Ch. 152One tower, one world

Dick and Med'an arrived at Karazhan, where Medivh’s undead servants welcomed Med'an as the tower’s heir and urged him to take up his inheritance. After encouraging Med'an to consider the responsibility of protecting them, Dick left to meet Meryl and claim the inheritance Medivh had left for him.

  • Moroes led Dick and Med'an from the banquet hall to a luxurious guest room, explaining that Meryl was in the library and warning them to avoid the Maiden of Virtue and the basement.
  • Moroes planned to teach Med'an etiquette and magic and have Lord Aland and Attumen train him, while Dick considered how Karazhan could protect the boy.
  • Med'an asked whether Karazhan would be his home, and Dick explained that Medivh had left the tower and its servants to him along with the duty to protect them.
  • Med'an admitted that he no longer feared the undead but wondered why they should sacrifice for him, and Dick urged him to think carefully about accepting the responsibility of lordship.
  • After Med'an fell asleep, Dick took the Blue Flame Rose and set out to find Meryl and claim Medivh’s inheritance.

Ch. 153The Kirin Tor's legacy

Dick entered the Banquet Hall, where Moroes recalled Medivh’s death and explained how the master had given Karazhan’s servants purpose. Dick gave Moroes the Blue Flame Rose, then followed him to the Observatory to receive Medivh’s gifts, discovering a Judgment Armor set and an Astral Warhorse.

  • Moroes told Dick how Medivh had saved Karazhan’s people and how the tower’s servants had lost their purpose after his death.
  • Dick gave Moroes the Blue Flame Rose, which restored the appearance he had before dying.
  • Moroes led Dick past hidden passages to the Observatory, where he introduced Void, the dragon guarding it.
  • Dick opened the first box and found a complete Judgment Armor set that Medivh had commissioned and enchanted for him.
  • Dick opened the second box and met the winged Astral Warhorse Medivh had prepared as another gift.

Ch. 154A treasure from another world-the Naaru crystal

Dick opened Medivh’s last box in Karazhan and found the Naaru’s green Ata’mal Crystal, the Shadow of Flourishing Leaves. It gave him limited control over the Bloodlust Oak inside him and let him vanish from sight, before he set out for the Swamp of Sorrows and was attacked while freeing Lady Velinde.

  • Moroes warned Dick that the last box held a mysterious gift from fate and revealed Medivh had found it on Draenor.
  • Dick opened the box and discovered the Shadow of Flourishing Leaves, a green Ata’mal Crystal once kept by the Draenei.
  • The crystal pleased the Bloodlust Oak inside Dick and gave him limited control over it.
  • Dick used the crystal to disappear and reappear behind Moroes, who warned him not to pull such stunts in Karazhan.
  • The next morning, Dick left Karazhan to pursue Eranikus’s Redemption in the Swamp of Sorrows and opened the cellar door to free Lady Velinde.
  • A dark figure lunged at Dick as he opened the cellar door.

Ch. 155The Green Dragons of the Swamp of Sorrows

Dick found Velinde Starsong feral after she killed the Black Knight, healed and outfitted her, then brought her to the Swamp of Sorrows. There, Demitier explained that the Green Dragons needed Dick to break the Atal'ai Trolls’ barrier and stop their offerings to Soulflayer.

  • Dick defended himself from Velinde Starsong’s sudden attack, recognized her, and healed her wounds with Holy Light.
  • Dick had the Succubus maids bathe and dress Velinde, then flew with her on Astral Steed to the Swamp of Sorrows.
  • Dick explained that the Sunken Temple housed the Atal'ai Tribe and that Soulflayer’s corruption was spreading through the land.
  • Dick used a broken emerald dragon scale to summon a Green Dragon scout, who introduced himself as Demitier.
  • Demitier told Dick that the Nightmare and Soulflayer had weakened the Green Dragons, put Eranikus into a deep slumber, and empowered Trolls who had escaped the temple.
  • Dick learned that he was expected to break the Trolls’ barrier and destroy their offerings so Soulflayer’s influence would weaken and Eranikus could awaken.

Ch. 156Drakonid-Hrunis

Dick, Demitier, and Velinde entered the Atal'ai temple and rescued the drakonid Hrunis from a Hakkari sacrifice. After escaping the troll zombies, they gained Hrunis as an ally and prepared to fight the trolls.

  • Dick led Demitier and Velinde through the temple toward the Atal'ai trolls, while Velinde struggled with her new worgen nature.
  • The three discovered the trolls preparing to sacrifice the bound drakonid Hrunis, whom Demitier recognized as an exiled member of their kind.
  • Dick used concealment to kill the Hakkari priest and free Hrunis, then fought alongside Demitier against the troll zombies.
  • Dick, Demitier, and Hrunis retreated into a narrow passage and sealed its exit, while Velinde cowered nearby after cutting down a zombie with the Scythe of Elune.
  • Hrunis accused Jin'do of betraying him and offered to join Dick's fight against the trolls; Dick welcomed him into the group, and Hrunis gave his name as Das.

Ch. 158Soulflayer's Avatar

Dick and his companions found the Atal'ai ritual chamber and extinguished its four Soul Lamps with Wind Serpent blood, summoning Hakkar's Avatar. As the Avatar arrived, Dick prepared to fight it with the power of his new armor.

  • Velinde tracked Wind Serpents through the temple, and Hrunis led the group into a chamber with a black altar and four Soul Lamps.
  • Dick explained that Wind Serpent remains could extinguish the lamps and draw Hakkar's Avatar into the mortal world, while Demitier described the Green Dragonflight's struggle to contain the Trolls.
  • Hrunis killed the Wind Serpents in a nearby hall, and Dick and the others poured their blood over the Soul Lamps until the first three went out.
  • Demitier took Dragon form to hold back Trolls outside as Dick extinguished the final lamp, and Anveena broke Hakkar's attempt to oppress Dick's mind.
  • Hakkar's Avatar emerged from the altar, and Dick summoned his armor and Holy Light before declaring that five minutes would be enough to defeat it.

Ch. 159The collapse of the Atal'ai

Dick and Das fought Hakkar’s avatar in the underwater temple until Dick resisted its soul storm with Anveena’s help and destroyed its vessel with the Hammer of Justice and holy water. With the Atal’ai forces faltering, Prophet Jammal'an struck Dick from behind, and a swift shadow leapt into the panicking Trolls to begin a bloodbath.

  • Dick and Das attacked Hakkar’s Graybone Wind Serpent avatar and broke much of its skeletal body.
  • Hakkar unleashed a Soul Storm that attacked Dick and Das, but Anveena urged Dick to charge into it and protected him.
  • Dick seized the avatar and struck it with the Hammer of Justice, then poured undiluted holy water into its skull, driving Hakkar’s will away and freeing the Troll souls.
  • Prophet Jammal'an howled as the Atal’ai priests’ faith collapsed, while the Green Dragons’ defensive line outside neared defeat.
  • Prophet Jammal'an hit Dick from behind with a Shadow Orb, and a swift shadow leapt into the Troll crowd and began slaughtering them.

Ch. 160Meeting Eranikus again - bonus release update 1

After Velinde helped defeat the Atal'ai trolls, Dick carried her into the Sunken Temple and reunited Das with Eranikus. Eranikus welcomed Das back without restoring him to the Green Dragonflight, assigned Das and Demitier to serve under Dick, and asked Dick to help him confront Xavius.

  • Velinde slaughtered Jammal'an and the trolls, then collapsed after Dick took the Scythe of Elune from her.
  • Dick urged Das to meet Eranikus, and Demitier told Das that Eranikus regretted exiling him and wanted him to return home.
  • Demitier led Dick, Das, and the sleeping Velinde through the temple toward Eranikus, while explaining that nightmare-possessed drakonids were confined below.
  • Eranikus greeted Das and welcomed him back, but said he could not rejoin the Green Dragonflight because a better role awaited him.
  • Eranikus appointed Das and Demitier as Green Dragonflight representatives under Dick's command, then asked Dick to help him deal with Xavius.

Ch. 161Xavius's retreat-bonus release 2

Eranikus explained the Fist of Tyr and its order power to Dick, then used Dick’s power to confront Xavius in the Emerald Dream. Xavius retreated after failing to affect Dick, but the corrupted land had lost its life force, and Eranikus promised Dick gifts and bad news.

  • Eranikus told Dick that the Fist of Tyr had belonged to the Order Guardian Tyr and that its order power could protect Dick’s mind from Xavius.
  • Eranikus asked Dick to press the Fist of Tyr against the Dream Gemstone so he could use Dick’s order power in the Emerald Dream.
  • Dick entered the Emerald Dream and watched Eranikus and Ysera confront Xavius, whose nightmare attack failed to affect him.
  • Xavius withdrew after declaring that the conflict would spread across Azeroth, and the corrupted land turned green again after losing its life force.
  • Eranikus urged Ysera and Dick to accept their victory, then told Dick he had prepared gifts and some bad news.

Ch. 162Green Dragon Essence and Dragon's Call-third bonus update

Dick helped Eranikus cleanse the temple of Xavius’s Nightmare and Hakkar, then received the Green Dragon’s power and the sword Dragon’s Call. The newly activated Dragon Calamity quest revealed that black dragons threatened Stormwind, leaving Dick to prepare for danger beyond the Green Dragonflight’s reach.

  • Eranikus explained that Xavius’s Nightmare had dispersed and Hakkar would never return, then asked Dick to bring him the gemstone.
  • Eranikus transferred some of his power to Dick through the gemstone, raising Dick’s attributes by 60 points.
  • Eranikus gave Dick Dragon’s Call, his sword from the War of the Ancients, as a token of the Green Dragonflight’s friendship.
  • Dick received notifications that Eranikus’s quest was complete, Divergence had reached 29%, and the Dragon Calamity historical node had begun.
  • Eranikus warned Dick that black dragons, including Nefarian, were active around Stormwind and that the Green Dragonflight could not help him confront them.
  • Eranikus blessed Dick and told him to take Demi and Das away before the temple was sealed.
