Xu Ran won Zhu Zhuqing’s engagement and traveled to Nuoding City, where he turned Xiao Wu against Tang San by exposing Tang Hao’s role in Ah Yin’s fate and using the Hat of Destiny. Xiao Wu left Tang San for Xu Ran, while Tang San sought Yu Xiaogang’s help removing the hat fused to his head.
Xu Ran comforted Xiao Wu after Tang San attacked them, then brought her to Shrek Academy and defeated Dai Mubai. He later found Ah Yin and made Tang Hao reveal his betrayal, leaving Tang Hao confronted by Ah Yin’s apparition.
Xu Ran returned to the Zhu Family after confronting Tang Hao, strengthened his bonds with Zhu Zhuqing, and won Dai Weisi’s support with a display of power. His new marquis title brought greater influence, while he and Zhu Zhuyun began a secret relationship that could put them at odds with the imperial family.
Xu Ran brought Zhu Zhuqing to Shrek Academy, publicly established their engagement, and used a poem on the training-ground wall to inspire the students and teachers. Ning Rongrong benefited from the inscription, while Tang San and Yu Xiaogang lost cultivation and confronted Xu Ran.
Xu Ran exposed Yu Xiaogang’s scheme, drew Tang San into another humiliating defeat, and began building closer ties with Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong. He crippled Tang Hao and took Ah Yin’s Soul Bone, then left for Sunset Forest while the others found his message and Yu Xiaogang’s cultivation collapsed.
Xu Ran plundered Dugu Bo’s medicinal garden, cured the poison affecting Dugu Bo and Dugu Yan, then went to Skywater Academy while weakened by his expiring Experience Card. He became the academy’s instructor, grew close to Shui Yue'er, and ended the stretch by helping hundreds of students advance through his music.
Xu Ran helps Skywater Academy’s girls evolve their Martial Souls while binding Liu Erlong to a two-year bargain and planning to expose Yu Xiaogang. After returning to Suotuo City, he reunites with Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong, kills the men who threaten them, and draws Tang San’s watchful resentment.
Xu Ran gave Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong immortal herbs while humiliating Tang San and strengthening his ties with the women. He then set out with Xiao Wu and Zi JI for the Star Dou Great Forest, where he intended to help Xiao Wu obtain a Soul Ring and answer Gu Yuena’s summons.
Xu Ran returned to the Star Dou Great Forest, where his Fortune Power won the Ferocious Beasts’ respect and brought him before Gu Yuena for treatment. After healing her and strengthening his bond with Wang Qiu’er, he helped her plan to take human form.
Xu Ran strengthened his ties with Gu Yuena and the Star Dou Great Forest’s beasts, receiving treasures and forging powerful armor before leaving for Star Luo City. As Ning Rongrong’s transformed Martial Soul brought Xu Ran fresh renown at Shrek Academy, Zhu Zhuqing and Zhu Zhuyun’s feelings for him complicated the reunion with Dai Weisi.
Xu Ran secured the Zhu Family’s trust while secretly manipulating Dai Weisi, then returned to Shrek Academy and drove a wedge between Liu Erlong and Yu Xiaogang. The arc ended with Xu Ran claiming Liu Erlong and turning his attention to Ning Rongrong.
Xu Ran gained the Ancestral Dragon bloodline, humbled the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect, and built ties with Qian Renxue, Dugu Yan, and Ye Lingling. The arc ended with Yu Xiaogang confessing his manipulative motives to Liu Erlong as the Yu family exposed his past.
Xu Ran exposed Yu Xiaogang’s deception, drew Liu Erlong into his life, and strengthened her Fire Dragon Martial Soul with his ancestral dragon blood. He deepened his ties with Qian Renxue and Xue Ke, then departed with Ning Rongrong for the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect to confront Tang San.
Xu Ran defeated Porcupinefish Douluo, secured Qian Renxue’s continued affection, and formally married Ning Rongrong after humiliating Tang San over his hidden weapons. He broke through to Soul Emperor, became a guardian elder of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, and began forcing Tang San to help establish the Xu Sect, while an evil presence entered Tang San unnoticed.
Xu Ran laid the groundwork for the Xu Sect, recruited allies, and deepened his relationships while provoking Tang San and defeating Snake Lance Douluo. At Skywater Academy, he strengthened his Soul Beast form, taught his new recruits, and accepted Huo Wu's challenge.
Xu Ran drew Shui Bing'er, Huo Wu, Qian Renxue, and others into his expanding circle while strengthening the Xu Sect and clashing with Tang San. After Ah Yin returned and sought revenge on Tang Hao, Xu Ran brought her to the Clear Sky Sect and accused Tang Hao of causing her sacrifice.
Xu Ran exposed Tang Hao’s betrayal to Ah Yin, helped her reject the Tang Family, and then turned his attention to Qian Renxue, Xue Ke, and Tang Yuehua. After gaining the Dragon God Torso Bone, he interfered with Tang San’s pursuit of Bai Chenxiang and left with her after she treated his staged poisoning.
Xu Ran won Bai Chenxiang’s loyalty and helped her grow stronger while Tang San turned toward Spirit Hall under the influence of Rakshasa power. In the Star Dou Great Forest, Xu Ran revealed his Ancestral Dragon form, subdued the Ferocious Beasts, and deepened his bond with Gu Yuena by sharing his blood.
Xu Ran stripped Tang San of the Eight Spider Lances and used Soul Beasts to torment him, Yu Xiaogang, and Tai Tan before returning to Shrek Academy. He helped Tang Yuehua awaken her cultivation and left to break the curse on Ye Lingling’s family, despite the System Lady’s warning about the gods.
Xu Ran broke the Divine Realm’s Order Chain and defeated the Rakshasa God, but his injuries drew Gu Yuena and Qian Renxue into conflict. While Tang San advanced his Rakshasa inheritance, Bibi Dong came to assassinate Xu Ran and ended up bound to nurse him for ten days.
