"Want to fight to the death?"
The demon at the doorway spoke, mockery lacing his voice. "Who do you think you are? You learned Swordsmanship from that fellow for a few days, and now you think you can slay me? How laughable."
His tongue had already regenerated. A kitchen knife was only a kitchen knife, after all. Even wounds inflicted by a Nichirin Blade would not take him long to heal.
Unless that blade had been forged by Tetsu no Sosuke.
"Give up all resistance. You have no hope against me."
As the demon spoke, he stepped into the house.
Muichiro took a deep breath. "Yuichiro... sorry I didn't tell you."
"Was it Iron Pillar?" Yuichiro asked.
"Yes." Muichiro nodded. "He's with the Demon Slayer Corps. He mainly came here to look after us and give us the strength to protect ourselves. He wanted you to learn his Mechanism Arts and me to learn his Swordsmanship. But he said he wouldn't force us if we didn't want to join the Demon Slayer Corps. He just wouldn't be able to teach me the Breathing Technique."
Yuichiro gritted his teeth. "Enough. If you're that skilled now, you can leave. That bastard can't stop you!"
"I won't leave you behind." Muichiro grinned. "Iron Pillar actually told me a lot... I know you're only so harsh with me because you want to protect me. That's why I'll work hard to protect you too. I'll keep him busy. Find a way out of here, and I'll catch up with you."
"You idiot!!!"
Yuichiro flew into a rage. "How could I leave you behind and run away on my own?"
"But there's no point in you staying here," Muichiro said. "You haven't made any powerful mechanisms yet."
"I..."
"Ahem, ahem, ahem!!!"
A fit of coughing interrupted
