She glanced at him several times, seeming to weigh her words.
"What is it?" Tetsu no Sosuke was a little bewildered. The way she looked at him made him uneasy... Had he done something wrong?
Puzzled, he looked around for help.
Well, there was no point asking the Tokito Brothers. Kanao, then?
Tetsu no Sosuke felt a little desperate. Looking to these three for help? That was probably his biggest problem.
"Why don't you... sit here for a while?"
Shinobu Kocho sounded earnest.
Tetsu no Sosuke frowned. "What's wrong? Since when are you so polite with me? Enough talk. Let's go!"
Shinobu Kocho let out a long sigh. "Let's go."
A mission couldn't wait. While they delayed, innocent people could already be dying.
So they set off as fast as possible, with Big Hammer sprinting ahead as usual.
Shinobu Kocho clutched Tetsu no Sosuke's clothes, an expression on her face that was hard to describe.
And she remained extremely cautious the entire way... Had caution itself taken possession of her?
Tetsu no Sosuke was puzzled. The village in the mission report wasn't especially far, and Big Hammer was fast. Before long, they arrived.
Next, they split up to search for clues, then moved in after dark...
Everything went smoothly. They found the Demon and killed it.
But by then, Shinobu Kocho looked even more grave.
Her expression made Tetsu no Sosuke wary too. He surveyed their surroundings and even closed his eyes to listen, but... the wind sounded normal, and there wasn't the slightest disturbance in the air. Nothing was wrong!
He looked at Shinobu Kocho. "Did you find something?"
"No." Shinobu Kocho shook her head.
Tetsu no Sosuke breathed a sigh of relief. "Head back?"
"Mm." Shinobu Kocho let out a deep breath of relief too.
