But he still reminded him in the letter not to rush. Just as a meal had to be eaten one bite at a time, things had to be done one step at a time. Even after Nakime was slain, they would still have to watch out for Kibutsuji Muzan's counterattack.
So it never hurt to be as careful as possible.
After finishing the letter, he read it through, then had someone from the Hidden send it out.
Once that was done, Tetsu no Sosuke sat at the desk, staring blankly at the sun outside.
Only when Kanae appeared beside him, her belly now visibly rounded, did he come back to his senses. He took her hand and drew her into his lap.
He reached out and gently cupped her belly, a smile rising to his lips.
"When did you get back?"
Kanae asked.
"About half an hour ago," Tetsu no Sosuke replied.
"Why didn't you wake me?" Kanae began taking him to task.
Tetsu no Sosuke answered helplessly, "I wanted to let you sleep a little longer."
"I don't care," Kanae said imperiously. "Whatever I'm doing, you have to tell me as soon as you get back. Otherwise, even if I'm asleep, I won't rest easy."
"All right." Tetsu no Sosuke nodded and took a close look at Kanae.
Though her belly had grown, she hadn't put on much weight elsewhere. Her face was a little fuller, but that only made her more adorable.
Her large, sparkling eyes held joy and reproach, along with a little hint of mischief.
Simply looking at her like this made Tetsu no Sosuke feel filled with strength.
"It really is incredible," Tetsu no Sosuke said with heartfelt wonder.
"What is?" Kanae asked.
"You're my power bank." Tetsu no Sosuke buried his head against Kanae's
