"You're not going to kill anyone?" The familiar face looked at Tetsu no Sosuke suspiciously. "I think my senior fellow apprentice took this trial and you killed him."
"He brought it on himself." Tetsu no Sosuke rolled his eyes. "So what was your name again?"
"Zenitsu Agatsuma."
"Right, right. I can never remember." Tetsu no Sosuke looked at his hair, which had somehow turned completely blond. "What happened to your hair?"
"I got struck by lightning."
"Must've done something you felt guilty about."
"How could I?" Zenitsu Agatsuma shook his head vigorously.
But halfway through, his eyes went wide.
Tetsu no Sosuke followed his gaze and saw a young woman walking toward them at an unhurried pace. A breeze stirred her hair. The smile on her lips was as serene as ever.
Not a fraction more, not a fraction less. It was a smile so perfectly measured it might have been made with a ruler.
Zenitsu Agatsuma suddenly sprinted to the young woman's side. He wailed through streaming tears, as if he'd just found his long-lost mother.
"Please marry me!!!!"
The young woman glanced at him, then walked past him with a smile.
"Ah!"
Zenitsu Agatsuma froze on the spot. For an instant, her smile had given him hope. Now it was clear he'd imagined it.
But Zenitsu Agatsuma wasn't so easily defeated. He immediately turned to chase after her, determined to keep trying.
Then he saw the young woman stop beside Tetsu no Sosuke. She stood there quietly, smiling without a word.
Zenitsu Agatsuma froze again.
He still remembered proposing to Kanae earlier, only to be kicked away by that terrifying Hammer Pillar. Could this young woman be his wife too?
The thought filled him with indignation.
