The door was tall, enormous, and unusually wide.

They decided to make a rubbing of the outside first, then the inside. Judging by the door's size, the two rolls of cloth should be enough.

Tetsu no Sosuke grabbed one end of the cloth and sprang to the top of the cave. He wedged Sunblaze into the gap between the door and the cave ceiling to hold himself in place.

He straightened and secured the white cloth while Yuichiro began cutting it to size along the bottom of the door.

Tetsu no Sosuke came back down, grabbed another edge of the cloth, and went up again to repeat the process.

Before long, the two of them had covered the entire door in white cloth.

Yuichiro brought over water and ink, then looked at Tetsu no Sosuke.

"I'll handle the top, and you handle the bottom," Tetsu no Sosuke said. "Once we finish this side, we'll open the door and make a rubbing of the inside."

They climbed up and down endlessly. Hanging the cloth was easy; making the rubbing was the hard part, mainly because the door was so huge.

With help, they could have built a scaffold and made things much easier. But there was no one to help them.

More than once as he worked, Tetsu no Sosuke regretted not asking the Hidden to handle this. But it was too late now. They could hardly abandon the job halfway through.

Was he supposed to ask Ubuyashiki Kagaya to send someone to finish the other half? What would he say when Ubuyashiki Kagaya asked why he had only done half of it?
