Wei Zisu had no time to keep reading the comments before Cui Xiangxiang suddenly burst in!

He tossed two key cards onto the table, grabbed his bag, and began packing in a whirlwind.

Wei Zisu climbed out of bed and asked, "Didn't you go out to eat with Wu Hao? Why are you back so soon? Hey, why are you packing?"

Stuffing clothes into his bag, Cui Xiangxiang said rapidly, "Your buddy's making a run for it. Zisu, you've got to cover for me."

"Huh?" Wei Zisu looked utterly bewildered.

Cui Xiangxiang rushed over, cupped Wei Zisu's face in both hands, and said, "I handcuffed Wu Hao to the bed. Go unlock him in two hours. The key's on the table in his room. Oh, one of the key cards I just brought back is for Wu Hao's room."

"Huh?"

"I lied when I agreed to go out to eat with him. The brat wouldn't leave me alone, so I had to find a way to trick him into bed. I told him we'd try something exciting, then took the chance to cuff him. Two hours is enough for me to escape back home!"

"Huh?"

"Little Su-Su, your chance to go through hell for me is here! Make sure you seize it!"

With that, he slung his bag onto his back, gave Wei Zisu an encouraging gesture, and fled the hotel.

Wei Zisu was completely bewildered. Less than a minute had passed between Cui Xiangxiang's return and his escape, and he had already been entrusted with an important mission.

After spending two hours on edge, Wei Zisu took the key card Cui Xiangxiang had left and went to Wu Hao's room. He freed Wu Hao, whose hands were cuffed to the headboard and whose eyes were covered.

"Where's Cui Xiangxiang?" Wu Hao demanded furiously.

"He ran," Wei Zisu said.

"I knew it!!" Bare-chested, with two or three marks still on his neck, Wu Hao pointed at Wei Zisu and said, "Tell Cui Xiangxiang this isn't over!"

"Oh." His mission complete, Wei Zisu turned to leave.

"Wei Zisu!"

Wu Hao suddenly stopped him. "Aren't you childhood friends? Starting today, for every day I can't find him, I'll spend another day pestering you! I'll follow you even after filming wraps. Wherever you go, I'll go. I don't believe you and Cui Xiangxiang can go your whole lives without seeing each other!"

No wonder Cui Xiangxiang always called him childish. He really was.

"I'm going to Shandong to get married after filming wraps," Wei Zisu said.

"Then I'll go to Shandong to get mar... married too?"

"Yes." Wei Zisu nodded. "To hold the wedding ceremony we haven't had yet."

Wu Hao immediately asked, "Is Cui Xiangxiang going?"

"I don't know."

"I don't care. Call him and tell him to go! If he doesn't, I'll make a scene at your wedding!"

"Suit yourself."

Make a scene at his wedding? Wei Zisu dismissed his threat. If he only made a small scene, it would provide some entertainment. If he went too far, Wei Zisu would have him sent to the police station.

Wait, no.

If he ended up at the police station too, wouldn't all those reshoots have been for nothing?

The announcement that he was married completely ruined Wei Zisu's day off.

First, he received a call from his mother, asking whether it was true that he was married.

"Yes," Wei Zisu said. "I thought you knew."

His mother's voice grew shrill with agitation. "How would I know?!! You didn't discuss getting married with your family or even mention it. You just went and secretly got married. Do we even matter to you anymore?"

"I remember saying when I went home to borrow money for the fine that if I couldn't scrape together enough, I'd have to accept the Alpha assigned by the state," Wei Zisu said. "But not only did you refuse to lend me money, you threatened to kill yourself to force me to leave all my savings behind. Under those circumstances, did I have any other choice?"

His mother fell silent for a moment, then began to sob quietly. "I was... I was trying to pressure you into making up with Sun Liang. Who knew you'd be so foolish as to marry some random Alpha? You're making me furious!"

Wei Zisu didn't know what to say.

Even though Sun Liang had cheated on him, his mother had actually still intended to use underhanded means to make them reconcile. Ha. Was she really his mother?

After calming down a little, his mother asked, "This person you married, where's he from? What does his family do?"

"He's from Shandong," Wei Zisu said. "His family grows vegetables."

"What??" His mother slapped her thigh repeatedly in agitation on the other end. "Wei Zisu, are you trying to kill me? After all that picking and choosing, you chose a vegetable farmer? How am I supposed to tell people when they ask? You're going to make me lose every last shred of face!"

With that, she started crying again.

Irritated, Wei Zisu spoke more sharply. "I'm the one marrying him, not you. What do you have to be embarrassed about? However my life turns out from now on, it's my own business. If you're that afraid of being embarrassed, you can tell people you don't have a son!"

With that, he hung up.

He was still feeling thoroughly upset when Sun Zhe called.

"Hello." Wei Zisu didn't notice that his bad mood had made his tone impatient too.

Sun Zhe paused, then asked, "Zisu, you're married?"

This again.

"Yes."

"To whom?" Sun Zhe asked.

Rubbing between his brows, Wei Zisu said, "Someone assigned by the state. You probably don't know him, Big Brother Sun. But he's a good person. He seems honest and decent, and he treats me pretty well."

"Oh." Sun Zhe fell silent for a moment before saying, "Zisu, although I'm hardly in a position to say this to you, I still can't help wanting to offer some advice. Marriage isn't a game. You can't settle for someone for the rest of your life just because you think they're passable."

"Big Brother Sun, what exactly are you trying to say?" Wei Zisu asked.

"I'm just saying that if you find you're incompatible, cut your losses in time, all right?" Sun Zhe said. "Whatever difficulties you encounter, I can help you resolve them."

Wei Zisu's voice finally softened a little. "Thank you, Big Brother Sun. I understand what you mean, but so far, we haven't found any way we're incompatible. I'll keep what you said in mind, though."

"You haven't found any way you're incompatible," Sun Zhe repeated quietly, then chuckled. "That's good, then."

Sun Zhe hung up. His face, which had been as gentle as a spring breeze a second earlier, immediately turned cold and vicious. He looked through the car window at the hotel where Wei Zisu was staying. After a long while, he told the driver, "Go to the Golden Bay Waterside Pavilion."

"Yes."
