The young woman's mouth fell open in surprise. She asked for confirmation, enunciating every word, "You mean... four people, meeting you at the same time, in the same place?"
"Yes," Wei Zisu said without a change in expression.
The young woman paused, then said, "In principle, that should be possible..."
It was just that no one had ever done it before.
After all, these meetings were blind dates. One omega going on a blind date with four alphas at once-what was that if not a battlefield? No matter how she thought about it, it sounded explosive!
"Then let's arrange it that way," Wei Zisu said. "I'm available at eight tomorrow morning. Sorry for the trouble, but please contact these four alphas for me."
His tone was as calm as an HR representative scheduling interviews.
"All... all right."
Sun Liang had not been home in a long time.
Ever since his father passed away, he and his mother had moved out of the old family home. There was no other reason: he hated his eldest brother, his mother hated Grandma, and they hated being under their control.
In the past, because of his father's rule that the family must never split up, they had been forced to face people they disliked all day long, constrained in both their words and actions. Now that his father was gone, they had no desire to keep living in the old house. They moved out-out of sight, out of mind.
Mother and son had "set up their own household" elsewhere, occasionally going back to visit Grandma and make a show of filial devotion. They lived quite comfortably.
But ever since breaking off his engagement with Wei Zisu, he had not wanted to go home-not even to his own place, let alone Grandma's.
His mother scolded him for letting lust cloud his judgment and losing such a useful pawn as Wei Zisu. Even if he regretted it, he refused to admit it. He kept telling his mother how wonderful Yuan Zizhen was and that she should let Grandma meet him. Perhaps Grandma would like him even more than she liked Wei Zisu.
His mother did not believe him. She said Yuan Zizhen had a seducer's face; he might fool an alpha, but he could not fool a worldly, experienced omega. If he dared bring Yuan Zizhen before the old lady, she would not hesitate to subject him to family discipline!
After hearing that, Sun Liang was too frightened to return to the old house for a long time. He had experienced the old lady's family discipline many times growing up and never wanted to hear those two words again for the rest of his life.
He did not want to listen to his mother's scolding either, so he simply stayed at Yuan Zizhen's home, taking the opportunity to recover from the injuries Wei Zisu had inflicted on him.
On the day their engagement was broken off, he, an alpha, had actually been beaten by an omega without being able to fight back at all. He did not even dare tell anyone, afraid of losing face. He could only swallow the humiliation for now and find a chance to get revenge later!
Aside from Wei Zisu, no one was happier about the broken engagement than Yuan Zizhen.
Now that Sun Liang was staying at his home every day, he was even more attentive, trying to impress him in every way. He had even turned down several engagements specifically to stay home and care for him.
Sun Liang claimed he had gotten all his injuries from an accidental fall. Yuan Zizhen was no fool; he could tell at a glance that someone had beaten him. But he did not expose the lie and continued making soup for him every day.
"Liang, have some soup." Deliberately swaying his supple waist, Yuan Zizhen carried over a bowl of soup in his slender, pale fingers and set it beside Sun Liang's laptop, gazing at the alpha with affection in his eyes.
Sun Liang kept his eyes on the screen as he worked on his documents. Without even looking up, he casually gave Yuan Zizhen a pat.
Yuan Zizhen let out a startled cry as a large hand suddenly pulled him onto Sun Liang's lap.
"Liang~" He pressed his hands against Sun Liang's chest, his expression shy, putting up a token resistance while inviting more.
Sun Liang shut his laptop and pushed it aside.
Yuan Zizhen obligingly wrapped his arms around his neck, a rose fragrance emanating from his body as he let out the occasional coy, bashful protest.
Just as Sun Liang was losing himself in their kisses, Yuan Zizhen suddenly asked, "Liang, now that you've broken off your engagement with Wei Zisu, can you marry me?"
Sun Liang immediately stopped. Looking into Yuan Zizhen's hazy eyes, which held a hint of calculation, he suddenly lost interest.
Inappropriately, he thought of Wei Zisu's eyes, always calm and indifferent, as though nothing in the world interested him. Sometimes he even wondered whether Wei Zisu was only like that in front of him.
Growing irritated, he sat back in his chair, opened his laptop, and said to Yuan Zizhen, who was still half-seated on the desk beside him, "We'll talk about that later. Go out for now. I still have work."
After a moment of stunned surprise, Yuan Zizhen's eyes filled with tears, and he bit his lower lip hard. But he did not dare lose his temper, much less defy Sun Liang. After all, they were not married yet. In front of this rich idiot, he still had to maintain his gentle, virtuous, sweet, and obedient persona.
He picked up his clothes and held them against his chest, looking pitiful and wronged. His red lips parted slightly as though he wanted to speak but held back, putting all his best acting skills to use. In the end, he left without saying a single word, giving a couple of sobs.
The instant he closed the door, Yuan Zizhen's expression changed, turning resentful and spiteful. Gritting his teeth, he thought, Sneaking around together before was humiliating enough. I finally managed to engineer Wei Zisu and Sun Liang's broken engagement, but this idiot still has no intention of marrying me. He won't even give me a marking. Hmph, just you wait. Sooner or later, I'll marry into the Sun family!
He had plenty of tricks up his sleeve. He refused to believe he could not win over a simpleminded fool like Sun Liang.
Looking at the tightly closed door, Sun Liang began to wonder whether he had been too harsh with Zizhen just now.
He knew Yuan Zizhen wanted badly to marry him, and wanted even more to seize the opportunity to get engaged to him quickly, while his previous engagement had only just ended. That was because Yuan Zizhen loved him, admired him, and genuinely liked him.
Unlike Wei Zisu.
Thinking back now, he felt that Wei Zisu had probably only been with him to use his status and abilities to help find that younger brother of his, whose fate was unknown!
Hmph. By comparison, Zizhen was still more innocent, more pure.
