Shadow’s madness erupted before he could report the Creator’s plan, while Lu Xiao returned to camp and learned that Shadow was away. At C04, the Director ordered the Prison Wardens to obey while they awaited instructions, then saw an enormous aqua-blue planet looming in the sky.

• Shadow tried to contact someone about the Creator’s plan but lost control and transformed, forcing the Creator to feed him his own body parts.
• After a day-long battle, Lu Xiao returned to camp and found that Shadow was missing; the Warden said Shadow had gone to the Dark Prison.
• Lu Xiao settled into Shadow’s office while Little Well-Behaved returned to his workshop to rest and have his equipment serviced.
• The Director told C04’s staff that they had to await further orders and commanded the modified Prison Wardens to obey.
• The Director followed his assistant to the surface and saw a vast aqua-blue planet filling the sky above him.

The Director learned that the Spark Plan had entered its second phase and that humanity had endured for 211 years before the handoff. He watched footage of the first Pioneers, where Dan Guofeng declared he would venture into space to seek a way to save humanity.

• The Director and the Assistant discovered they had been transported with the C04 Public Containment Facility to a plain on the moon, where a message named Bai Ning as the new project leader.
• The Director read the Spark Plan records and learned he had the highest system privileges, then broke down as Lu Xi comforted him.
• Lu Xi showed the Director footage of the first Pioneers, including his father Bai Suoyi, Shadow, Antie, and Dan Guofeng.

They were surrounded by monstrous eyeballs that drove the helicopter pilot mad, and Lu Xiao stepped in front of the Warden as the helicopter plunged toward them.

• The Director watched Dan Guofeng’s recording and resolved to trust those fighting outside.

The Warden recognized the creatures as Outsiders they had encountered before and said Doctor Li had suspected they were Kin of an Evil God.

• The Warden told Lu Xiao that C04 Containment Facility had been moved and that there could be no survivors, then said he would bombard the site with missiles.
• Acid rain struck Northern Europe as He Shang and four beings formed a black-and-gold barrier that expanded to cover the landmass.
• Antie learned that extreme rainfall would submerge Greater Washington and used his power to make the floodwater flow backward while the city evacuated.
• Malformed creatures attacked cities across the United States, and winged monsters filled the skies above Greater Los Angeles.
• A missile destroyed a creature about to attack a man in Greater Los Angeles as fighter jets, tanks, and armored vehicles arrived to fight the monsters.

A helicopter crew sacrificed themselves after delivering Adam to their hometown, where the resulting creatures slaughtered the residents and declared the town Eden. As the catastrophe spread across Australia, the Pope received orders from a monstrous Lord, while Ding Dan led a vast Hell army north to confront the deities.

• A helicopter dropped Adam into a small American town, where its mass of rotten flesh released eggs that hatched into creatures which killed the remaining residents.
• The pilot and copilot revealed the town was their hometown, declared their aircraft unable to return, and deliberately crashed it as the other helicopters flew on.
• The largest creature in the town spoke the word “Eden,” and the monsters agreed to move toward a neighboring town.
• Mutated marine creatures overran Australia, while the Pope met a gigantic being in the former president’s office and departed after receiving its commands.
• Ding Dan led Morati, Feis, and his summoned Hell Creatures north to spread fear among the deities.

Ding Dan led the Hell army toward Moscow District, where he discovered civilians and members of R01 Containment Facility resisting mutated ocean creatures. Watching the Prison Keeper Organization and researchers inject themselves with serum, he wept and declared that he still liked humans better.

• Ding Dan warned Morati that he would make the prophecy come true if Morati obeyed his orders, and said he would give Morati what was rightfully his.
• Morati told Ding Dan that Yi Hao had taken sole charge of the Holy City, and Ding Dan complained that Feis cared only about controlling the water supply.
• Ding Dan and the Hell army crossed the deserted Moscow District and heard explosions coming from the northern coast.
• Ding Dan flew ahead and found civilians, soldiers, and members of the Prison Keeper Organization holding a defensive line against mutated ocean creatures.
• The Prison Keeper Organization members and researchers injected serum into their hearts as a gigantic sludge-like creature stood behind the ocean creatures.
• Ding Dan shed tears and said he still liked humans better.

Ding Dan ordered the Hell army to conquer the world after humanity’s forces were nearly destroyed, while the rising scarlet moon triggered widespread mutations and chaos. As Lu Xiao and Deputy Commander Zhang faced the upheaval, an unknown creature beneath the ruins began forming a strange staircase.

• Ding Dan refused to aid the humans until Morati urged him to act, then declared war on the world and sent the Hell army into battle.
• Morati killed Hairy Bear as sludge threatened to assimilate him, and Hairy Bear died hearing Morati call him a warrior.
• Lu Xiao saw Ding Dan’s crimson beam and heard further declarations from distant powers as wormholes appeared, the sea surged, and a scarlet moon rose.
• More than half the soldiers in Lu Xiao’s camp mutated, and Deputy Commander Zhang ran toward Lu Xiao for safety.
• Beneath the rubble, a tentacled creature formed a staircase of flesh and flowers, and the flowers wrapped barbed blood vessels around its limb.

Shadow struggled up a supernatural stairway where flowers and flesh fought to claim his body, choosing to keep climbing despite the pain and exhaustion. After a blond child thanked him and ran ahead, the stairway transformed into a sunlit road lined with people from Shadow’s life, including Bai Xuedong, Doctor Li, and Chen Fei.

• Vines and living flesh fought over Shadow’s body as a voice tried to tempt him to abandon humanity, but he continued climbing and affirmed his resolve.
• As half his body rotted and exhaustion stopped him, Shadow realized he had never retreated before and found the strength to take another step.

Liu Guang reached the end of a memory-filled road and reunited with Lu Xiao, who explained that the Outer Gods sought humanity because human nature could lessen their madness. Lu Xiao vanished before finishing his story, warning Liu Guang that altered history meant he was not the Lu Xiao from Liu Guang’s memories.

• Liu Guang passed through memories of people he had known and found Lu Xiao waiting at the end of the road.
• Liu Guang apologized for forgetting Lu Xiao, and Lu Xiao reassured him before offering to explain what had happened.
• Lu Xiao showed Liu Guang the day he ascended the Sequence Stairway and said the Outer Gods corrupted Earth because they wanted humans as Kin to offset their madness.
• Lu Xiao described exploring the Universe, experimenting on Kin, eating a Deity, and discovering that he was stronger than most Outer Gods.
• Lu Xiao said enemies were tracking him and he had to leave, then explained that altered history meant he had not existed in Liu Guang’s past before vanishing.

As disasters spread through the camp and Kyoto, the Warden led Lu Xiao to a sealed warehouse and told him Shadow had arranged for him to complete his Deification Ritual by killing and eating the Corrupted Creator. Lu Xiao entered to face the deity while the Warden left for Kyoto, leaving a letter behind.

• The Warden and Lu Xiao stayed at the camp as soldiers went mad and Mutated Ocean Creatures surged onto land, forcing Commander Zhang to lead the remaining lucid soldiers into battle.
• The Warden took Lu Xiao to a ruined building and asked whether he would help the world, Shadow, and the Warden; Lu Xiao said he would help Shadow without hesitation.
• The Warden told Lu Xiao that Shadow had arranged for him to kill and eat the Corrupted Creator to complete his Deification Ritual, and that his Eyes of Truth could suppress the deity’s abilities.
• Lu Xiao kicked open the warehouse door and entered to confront the Corrupted Creator, while the Warden left a letter and departed for Kyoto.
• Lu Xiao saw the Creator’s grotesque form and remarked that it smelled authentic.

Lu Xiao ate the creature while enduring its attacks, and an overwhelming sadness spread through him and the nearby camp. The soldiers and Yao Ling began weeping as dark clouds gathered, while Lu Xiao clutched a tear-soaked letter and cried out.

• Lu Xiao charged the creature, pulled its tentacle from his chest, and swallowed a gelatinous piece of it.
• As Lu Xiao continued eating, the creature stopped attacking and a deep sadness overcame him; he wondered whether achieving Godhood would let him help Mr. Shadow.
• At the camp, Little Well-Behaved, the workers, Deputy Commander Zhang, and Yao Ling were overcome by the same sadness and began to cry.
• Yao Ling suspected a rule-type Weird Life was nearby, helped Deputy Commander Zhang establish defenses, and searched the area without finding anything.
• Dark clouds gathered as Yao Ling’s grief intensified, and she collapsed to the ground sobbing.

Liu Guang’s letter explained that he had eaten the Creator, created a new world for humanity’s last survivors, and left his authority, brain, and plans to the person he called his brother. He urged his brother to preserve civilization, pursue godhood, and make choices about several allies and the girl with the 'Life' trait.

• Liu Guang apologized for scheming with Li Changqing and said Gambler had disrupted his ritual, leaving him unable to carry out the plans he had laid for the world.
• Liu Guang revealed that he had eaten the Creator, drained His authority, created a new world, and moved the C04 Containment Facility there as humanity’s last spark.
• Liu Guang asked his brother to inherit his authority and brain, preserve civilization, and use Li Changqing to hold the country together.
• Liu Guang urged his brother to spare the girl with the 'Life' trait if possible, help Antie Icarus complete his deification, and give Bai Suoyi the complete 'Sin' trait.

After inheriting Liu Guang’s authority and memories, Lu Xiao took charge of the battlefield and prepared to confront the source of the Gray-White Mist. In Kyoto, the Warden responded to a widespread infection by summoning 069 and gathering medical workers and volunteers for experiments.

• Lu Xiao inherited Liu Guang’s power and memories, accepted the unfinished plans, and went to the battlefield.
• Lu Xiao ordered Zhang Deputy Commander to hold the position for forty-eight hours and left Little Well-Behaved in charge of protecting the soldiers.

The Gambler found Antie recovering in the A01 Containment Facility and questioned him about using the Cage, while Antie offered no explanation. Elsewhere, Lu Xiao made a deal with a colossal jellyfish to guard Huaxia’s southeastern coastline, and the being agreed because Lu Xiao felt like Mother to it.

• The Gambler visited Antie in the A01 Containment Facility and joked that Antie was a half-dead god who had acted irrationally.
• The Gambler brought the sleeping 02-Angel to Antie, who had unexpectedly sat up and demanded to know why she was there.
• Antie pulled out his medical tubes, declined the Gambler’s offer to bring him a meal, and lay back down without answering questions about his recovery or the Cage.
• Lu Xiao asked a colossal being to guard Huaxia’s coastline, and it agreed without asking what he would offer in return.
• The being said Lu Xiao felt familiar, like Mother, and Lu Xiao entrusted Huaxia’s southeastern coastline to it before vanishing.
• The gray mist dispersed around the being and revealed that it was a jellyfish of boundless size.

Lu Xiao entered the Dark Prison through the ruins of Japan to investigate the source of the Gray-White Mist. He used the Eye of Truth to reveal that the apparently deserted city was full of people, and the chapter left him standing in the middle of a busy intersection.

• Lu Xiao reordered Liu Guang's priorities, deciding to investigate the mist's source before pursuing Gambler's identity or Bai Suoyi's path to godhood.
• Lu Xiao reached Japan for the third time and entered the Dark Prison by chewing off one of his fingers.
• Lu Xiao explored the silent town and then the ruins of a city, finding signs of life but no visible creatures.

Lu Xiao broke free of a dreamlike illusion by embracing his monstrous power and destroying the warped street around him. At the Gate, he encountered a nameless deity who called himself Calamity.

• A traffic officer and the surrounding crowd stabbed Lu Xiao with a baton, but Lu Xiao recognized the street as an illusion and saw the people as monsters.
• Lu Xiao snapped the branch embedded in his abdomen, bit off and swallowed his hand, then expanded into a massive hill of flesh and fired the Corrupted Revolver until the illusion shattered.
• Lu Xiao regained his senses in the ruined, blood-soaked area and found the white light marking the Gate.
• Lu Xiao mourned Liu Guang and aimed his gun at a chaotic figure that descended from the clouds.
• The figure directed Lu Xiao toward the Gate, and after Lu Xiao dismissed him, he introduced himself as Calamity.

Lu Xiao met Calamity, who asked to merge his authority with the world and become one of its gods. Calamity offered little in return and ended by describing himself as an abandoned, homeless god.

• Calamity told Lu Xiao he had no intention of resolving his madness and wanted to merge his authority with the world.
• Calamity offered to help Lu Xiao kill everyone inside the Gate, but Lu Xiao rejected the offer and invited him to share a meal.
• Lu Xiao gave Calamity his severed arm, then used the act of eating it to make Calamity answer his questions.
• Calamity explained how gods could rise beyond their natural rank and compared the world's will to a mother whose consent a god needed to leave.
• Calamity said his mother had died while he was away, leaving him mad and without a home, and admitted he did not know what he could offer Lu Xiao.

Calamity revealed that an immense being with Lu Xiao’s face had devoured his mother, and Lu Xiao agreed to join forces with him despite the risk of his madness. The two prepared to pass through a Gate, with Calamity stepping through first.

• Calamity showed Lu Xiao an image of a giant who had eaten a planet and explained that the being had devoured his mother.
• Calamity admitted he might have affected the world while delirious and said his authority spread disasters, prompting Lu Xiao to agree to their deal.
• Calamity proposed driving out the other Outsiders and said Lu Xiao should banish him if his accumulated madness erupted before he gained the world’s recognition.

Lu Xiao and Calamity explored the flooded ruins of the J01 Containment Facility, where Calamity recalled a mist-shrouded figure trying to steal his authority. After Calamity stopped an earthquake and split the earth above them, the two disappeared into the moonlight.

• Lu Xiao followed Calamity into the dark, flooded ruins, where Calamity said he remembered the place from fragments of his unconscious experiences.
• Calamity illuminated the corridor, and Lu Xiao found a strange viscous substance floating in the seawater; Calamity identified it as a creature's excrement.
• Calamity recalled a mist-shrouded person trying to seize his authority while he was unconscious and warned that a disaster was about to happen.
• An earthquake shook the corridor, but Calamity stopped it by pressing his hand against the wall.
• Calamity split the ceiling and the earth above apart without dropping any sand, and he and Lu Xiao vanished beneath the moonlight.
