The squad reached the manor as foreign Prison Wardens moved to seize it, and Dart prepared to intercept them while Lu Xiao questioned whether they were human.
Lu Xiao faced the cost of his curse, helped contain new anomalies, and saw the Doctor lose control of key custody disputes. After surviving a monster attack in the Dark Prison, Lu Xiao set out with Dart, Driver, and Chainsaw Uncle, but a red-dressed woman appeared and killed Driver.
Lu Xiao and Dante’s group traveled to Japan to find answers and seize 012-Pen, while the Doctor pursued knowledge of Lu Xiao’s divinity and the Gate’s threat. The Omniscient Mirror devastated Japan, but the group returned to Huaxia with 012-Pen and an injured Dante, and the Doctor sought 013-Parchment to use with it.
Lu Xiao and C03 prepared to capture Niclade while dealing with Lu Qian’s birth, the Creator’s flesh, and a dangerous drug experiment. The arc ended with Doctor sending Lu Xiao’s group into the Dark Prison’s depths as Dart’s infection and He Shang’s disappearance raised new concerns.
Lu Xiao’s group found Dart and learned that the true Dark Prison’s Gate was failing, then became stranded in a dangerous wilderness where Sloth’s Confusion nearly drove Lu Xiao to suicide. After Ding Dan helped restore Lu Xiao, Liuguang and Sly began Doctor’s mission at Liuguang’s old orphanage.
Lu Xiao and the Director uncovered Black Cat’s Dreamscape, rescued Nini, and brought her to the Containment Facility for treatment. The Doctor began experiments involving anomalous transformation and Lu Xiao’s memories, while a new dream left Lu Xiao trapped in a violent scene.
Lu Xiao joined the C03 team as his powers and curse drew growing attention, while Niclade prepared to summon Cthulhu. The group confronted Niclade at the opened gate, where a giant Black Cat appeared and the Doctor readied Serial Number 306-Cage.
After surviving the Dark Prison, Lu Xiao joined the Anomaly Supervision Bureau, learned more about the Salvation Society, and trained with a growing squad. The arc ended with Niclade revealing himself as the bishop controlling the villagers who ambushed the squad.
Lu Xiao returned from his memories and traveled with Shadow to the Highest Office, where Shadow revealed the history behind the Prison Keeper Organization, the Dark Prison, and the system. The arc ended with Shadow preparing to return home with Lu Xi’s true body and Lu Xiao piloting the plane.
Shadow brought Lu Xiao to the Initial Base, where Lu Xiao relived the Apotheosis Project and climbed the Apotheosis Path at the cost of his humanity and memories. Shuns organized a plan to rebuild Lu Xiao’s humanity by reenacting his past, but Lu Xiao awoke in the Dark Prison without memories and fought the group trying to subdue him.
Shadow and his companions took Lu Xiao into the Depths, where Zhang Chu’s attempt at immortality led him to defeat and devour a Creator. The Flesh High Wall collapsed, revealing that the Prison had fallen, and Zhang Chu gave Lu Xiao a second Eye of Truth.
Shadow and his companions dealt with Bai Suoyi’s madness and returned to the Present World, while Shuns and Antie set the Spark Plan aside in favor of building C04. In the Doctor’s Dreamscape, Shadow recounted the origins of the new world, and Zhang Chu was sent for treatment after Doctor found evidence of damage or a curse in his brain.
Lu Xiao and his allies uncovered the truth behind the God-Making Plan as Zhang Chu’s memories returned and his corrupted body was destroyed. After an outer-god attack devastated C03, Nini saved Ding Dan at great cost, while Liuguang renounced the Prison Wardens and demanded a piece of Lu Xiao’s flesh.
Shadow moved closer to assembling the Sin traits and securing allies, while Lu Xiao carried Zhang Chu’s remains to Mount Kunlun. There, Ding Dan confronted his family’s buried past, and Lu Xiao helped Dan Qingrong restore Zhang Chu to life without his memories.
Shadow helped Ding Dan attain godhood, exposed the Highest Office, and reshaped the Prison Wardens’ leadership as the Gray Fog isolated humanity. The leaders agreed on mass evacuations and a joint defense, while the Warden prepared to confront the life-form in the mist.
Lu Xiao, Shadow, and the Warden investigated the force driving sea creatures ashore while Ding Dan secured allies and a route between Hell and the Present World. Their return exposed another Warden on shore, and a doomed attack by the Sacrificial Ones prompted the Warden to transform.
Shadow and his allies exposed Artisan’s attempt to replace the Warden and defeated him, while the Warden’s identity was cleared. As the story shifted to humanity’s evacuation and new defenses against mental contamination, the Prison Doctor realized Nini’s life-related trait could be the key to his godhood.
Shadow prepared humanity for the Outsiders’ invasion while the recalled Prison Wardens underwent prosthetic trials and the world’s defenders fought across multiple fronts. As the invasion began, Liu Guang climbed the Sequence Stairway, reunited with Lu Xiao, and learned why the Outer Gods had corrupted Earth before Lu Xiao vanished.
Lu Xiao inherited Liu Guang’s power and memories, confronted the source of the gray-white mist, and ventured into space with Calamity. After the encounter with the entity near the dark sun left Calamity scattered, Lu Xiao revived him and departed with him, while He Shang pieced together Shadow’s plan and the danger linked to the Dark Prison.
Lu Xiao uncovered Gambler’s lies, restored Liu Guang in the Divine Hall, and agreed to lead the Saints. The arc ended with him revealing the hidden cosmic world and a mysterious silhouette calming those driven mad by Alfred’s murmurs.
