The North, Kingsroad northern section.
There is a mountain range to the north of Wolfswood. This mountain range is located along the coast, far away from Kingsroad.
Gary and others took a temporary rest near Kingsroad. When they looked up, they could see a row of snow-topped mountains.
Margaery walked to Gary and looked at the mountains with him, "Luke, Jon·Stark once told me that the mountain clan tribes live in that mountain range. They live the same primitive life as Wildlings, there are many people, and they are willing to fight for Stark."
"Mountain Clan?"
Gary had some impressions, but their sense of existence was so low that when he sent the recruitment letter to the the North princes, he automatically ignored them.
"You want me to recruit them?"
Margaery nodded slightly, "We are short of troops now. If we can get the support of the mountain clans, it will be of great help to us to win Deepwood Motte."
Gary thought for a moment and agreed to Margaery's suggestion. "Then you guys wait here, I'll ride with Drogon and come back."
Margaery took Gary's arm, shook his head and said, "As King in the North, how can you go there in person? They will mistakenly think that you have no one available, and they will inevitably despise you."
Gary couldn't help but frown. He didn't think so much, but Margaery thought about it comprehensively. "But I really have no one available now. Are you going with Daenerys? I'm not worried. These cavalry are all Highgarden people, and the mountain clans won't trust them. Ice The Samurai Group has just been established. The mountain clans may not have heard of them, nor may they trust them..."
Margaery reminded, "The Stark members they have met must go there to have a chance of success."
Gary understood what Margaery meant, "You mean Bran and Arya? No. They are both just children, how can they be put at risk?"
Margaery chuckled and said, "Bran... I don't know his experience, but I know about Arya. She can successfully escape from King's Landing, escape the pursuit of Lannister, and pass through the southern war zone of Riverlands and the North. Return Winterfell intact, I believe she has the ability to convince the mountain clan."
Gary is speechless, what ability does Arya have? Is it cute? If it weren't for the protection of the bodyguard "The Hound" Sandor and the aura of the protagonist, she would have died a hundred times.
"Wait until I talk to Arya and the others before making a decision."
As an illegitimate child, he was not entitled to participate in the annual harvest banquet, and therefore had no chance to contact the leaders of the mountain clans.
But Arya and Bran have a chance. They must have met the leaders of the mountain clan. So Gary listens to their impressions of the mountain clan and then consider whether to send people to recruit them.
He came to the children's carriage and found Arya and Bran playing around.
Gary called the two little Stark aside and asked, "Have you ever heard of the Mountain Clan?"
Unexpectedly, both Bran and Arya remembered, "Well, mother once said that they are a primitive tribe living within Wall."
"Just like Wildlings."
"It's different. They swore allegiance to Winterfell, not Wildlings!"
"I mean their costumes..."
"Hmph, is that Wildlings wearing animal skins?"
The two children had a heated discussion and almost got into a fight.
Gary quickly stopped and asked, "I want to ask you, what is your impression of them? How loyal do you think the mountain clan is to Winterfell? Are they like Mormont and Manderly? Or are they like Bolton?"
I thought the two children would think for a while, but they blurted out, "They look like Mormont and Manderly!"
Bran added, "Luke, the mountain clans do not have aristocratic culture, and their allegiance is more pure. If you want an army, you can go to them. But they only recognize House Stark, you must go in person, or let me and Arya go."
"Are you sure? Are mountain clans really that loyal?" Gary was doubtful. He always felt that the two children were still young and might have subjective filters.
Bran thought of something and looked sad, "Luke, many people from the mountain clan died in Riverrun."
Gary couldn't help but feel shaken in his heart. When he arrived at Riverrun, most of the corpses of the the North coalition forces had been burned, leaving only the corpses of Winterfell soldiers that had not been disposed of.
"Who among you is willing to go for me? I will send Ice warriors to escort you to ensure your safety."
Bran and Arya raised their hands at the same time, "Me!" "I'm going!"
Arya said proudly, "I am older than you and am your sister. And I have Sandor guards and Valyrian steel guns. You have nothing."
Bran wants to refute, but has no idea.
Gary condensed an ice core and handed it to Arya, "Then go Arya and take the ice core. If you encounter danger, smash it."
He was waiting next to Kingsroad, riding a dragon and flying to the depths of the mountains, which only took ten minutes.
Arya happily took Bingling, "Should I leave now?"
Gary looked up at the sun that was gradually setting in the sky and said, "Let's take a good rest today and be energetic."
"Okay." Arya took the ice core, turned around and ran to his playmates to show off.
Gary searched for the figure of "The Hound" Sandor and scanned the whole circle before he saw Sandor sitting alone under a tree in the distance.
He asked the two Ice warriors behind him to stop following him, and walked up to Sandor alone.
When Sandor saw King in the North coming, he didn't dare to neglect and stood up quickly. After all, he was his employer's brother, and with the loyalty of a Dragon and more than forty Giants, he could be crushed to death with one hand.
"Your Majesty." Sandor did not swear allegiance to the North. There was no need to bow his head in salute. He just called out briefly.
Gary didn't care about Sandor's salute, "The Hound Sandor, we met once, do you remember?"
Sandor nodded, "In the King's Landing tournament in 296, I was still Joffrey's guard at that time. You won the championship title and gave it to Queen of Love and Beauty Laurel Crown..."
He glanced at Margaery from a distance, "Miss Margaery from House Tyrell."
Why are Margaery·Tyrell that should be in King's Landing in the North? Then who is Margaery in King's Landing? Twins? Or...
Gary crossed his hands on his chest and asked seriously, "Sandor·Clegane, are you willing to swear allegiance to me? I can make you a knight and regain your noble status."
Sandor asked in confusion, "Your Majesty believes in Seven? Otherwise, how could you make me a knight?"
The North generally believes in Heart Tree Old Gods, so almost no one becomes a knight. In the memory of Sandor, only the belief in Seven can lead to the existence of knights.
Gary shook his head and explained, "I don't believe Seven. Supreme God Faith also has knights. I can also make you a knight."
There was a look of disdain in Sandor's eyes, "Forget it being a knight, I have no interest in this title. Moreover, I have sworn allegiance to Arya·Stark, which is equivalent to allegiance to the North."
Anyway, he has nowhere to go and is just trying to make ends meet.
