Arc 17The Fall of Lys
Redd led his fleet into Lys under fire, while King Ghidorah destroyed the city’s defenses and the Black-Robed Men’s weapons. A wildfire trap devastated the palace, and Redd flew to the harbor as Daemon and Tormund attacked his remaining ships.
- Nissa used her ancestral conch to order the surviving fishfolk and sea beasts into the depths, then left with her daughter after deciding her debt to Tormund was paid.
- Redd ordered the poisoned, blood-soaked planks removed and kept as a gift for Lys, then led the damaged fleet toward the city despite Douglas’s warnings about its narrow channels.
- Lys’s ballistae wrecked several ships, but Redd ordered the fleet to continue, and King Ghidorah destroyed the incoming bolts and drove the defenders from the walls.
- Douglas landed troops in Lys and surrounded the Magistrate’s palace while the Black-Robed Men assembled cannons and fired at King Ghidorah, wounding its wing.
- Redd ordered King Ghidorah to disable the Black-Robed Men’s weapons and capture their leader, then questioned the nameless maester before the palace erupted in wildfire.
- King Ghidorah sheltered Redd and Douglas beneath its wing as the palace burned and collapsed, leaving Douglas badly burned and most of the others dead.
- Redd flew toward the harbor, where Daemon attacked with Bloodworm and Tormund’s fifteen warships struck Redd’s fleet with catapults and dragonfire.
- Tormund’s veterans boarded the remaining ships as Lys’s defenders fired from the walls, while Bloodworm circled overhead and Redd’s outnumbered men, including Wang and Kid, were killed.
