Bang--
Wilton couldn't help but stumble backward, his face flushed red as he gritted his teeth. His mental will felt like it was sinking into a quagmire, as an endless darkness assaulted him from all sides.
Kneel.
Sleep.
You are just an ordinary person. Your life should be mundane, you should be nothing but a leek to be harvested, an ant to be crushed. You should submit. Lying down will bring comfort.
Denial, temptation, collapse.
Wilton's will was being destroyed. He felt as though he saw a supreme emperor wanting him to kneel and submit.
To dominate his life, to enslave his soul.
Uncontrollably.
Facing that pressure that suffocated his very soul, Wilton knelt on one knee, hands on the ground, drenched in sweat and gasping for breath.
The force was immense.
His consciousness was gradually blurring.
"Rear Admiral Wilton."
"What's going on?"
To the outside world, Wilton had knelt on one knee without any warning, gasping heavily and sweating profusely, as if he had undergone some extreme torture.
His body was covered in cold sweat.
And his face was filled with terror and fear.
"Conqueror's Haki."
When it came to experience, Buggy was the one. He immediately recognized that Wilton was currently enduring the will-shattering impact of the world's most ferocious man.
And it was a one-on-one confrontation.
He hadn't expected this guy named Wilton to not only avoid passing out immediately but to be stubbornly resisting.
"Screw you. Even in my past life, I had guts. We both carry our heads on our shoulders. If you push me too far, we'll take each other down."
"I finally got a chance to transmigrate and become someone important, and you still want to oppress me?"
"This is too much."
Wilton felt his chest about to explode, a surge of defiance churning within him. He roared inwardly, and just as his other leg was about to buckle, Wilton's mind exploded.
It was as if some shackles had been loosened.
His ambition was to become the World Lord, whose words became law, whose commands were obeyed without question, and who would unify the world. How could he be intimidated into submission by mere Conqueror's Haki?
A transmigrator with a cheat system, the perfect template for a chosen one. He had absolute confidence and absolute superiority.
"Damn it."
"One word: Fight!"
Where there is oppression, there is resistance.
Even a rabbit will bite when cornered, and a common man will spill blood when angered.
We are all human, all have one life. Why should he?
Wilton was enraged, and a single curse caused the pressure on him to weaken.
"Explosive Double Axes."
The entire warship sank slightly. Wilton gripped his dumbbells and launched himself forward, charging at Dragon with unwavering resolve, going all out from the start.
Unlike when dealing with Luffy, Buggy, or Bartholomew, he wasn't holding back his strength.
Visibly.
Wilton raised his dumbbells, and two massive dumbbell phantoms appeared above his head. Each was estimated to be a hundred meters tall and was covered in dark green Armament Haki.
The air itself seemed to explode.
Klang--
Dragon raised his right arm, covered in Armament Haki, and solidly blocked Wilton's dumbbells. His fierce expression changed slightly, and he then shot off like a cannonball, landing on the port.
Explosions erupted one after another, and thick smoke billowed into the sky.
He hadn't expected Wilton to withstand his Conqueror's Haki, and his strength was so immense, far exceeding the power expected of a Marine Rear Admiral.
"Dumbbell Charge."
The air tore apart.
A dumbbell shockwave, a hundred meters in size, was unleashed by Wilton, flying straight towards Dragon, who emerged from the dust. Dragon had taken his full-power Explosive Double Axes head-on and was completely unharmed.
His hands weren't even red or swollen.
"Your strength far surpasses that of a Rear Admiral."
Dragon vanished from his spot. When he reappeared, he was behind Wilton. Simultaneously, the spot where Dragon had been standing formed a large pit, with various broken stones and gravel piercing through the air.
Fortunately, there was no one around.
During their initial standoff, Smoker had already ordered the Marines to evacuate the civilians. Now, he stood with a furrowed brow, three cigars clenched in his mouth, surprised by Dragon's appearance.
"Feverish Spin."
Wilton didn't answer Dragon. Instead, he spun rapidly in place, instantly unleashing two massive, all-encompassing slashes that spread out in all directions like a tsunami.
Dragon's response to this attack was brutal. His muscular arms, covered in Armament Haki, simply blocked the onslaught. Then, in the blink of an eye, he vanished and reappeared above Wilton.
"Tekkai."
Wilton's entire body hardened into Tekkai, Armament Haki spreading across his arms and head. He raised his dumbbell, and the next moment, Dragon's right foot descended like the sky collapsing.
The immense force ripped the dumbbell from Wilton's grasp. It shot forward like a beam of light, its momentum undiminished as it tore through building after building, finally clearing a wide path before coming to rest at the end.
Cough, cough, cough.
Climbing out of the dust, Wilton shook his head, feeling dizzy and disoriented. That kick had been incredibly painful.
Good thing I'm tough enough.
There were countless powerful Marines, and half of them owed their lives to Tekkai, and for good reason. When forced to use Tekkai, one's speed was inevitably no match for the opponent, or the opponent was simply too strong.
When there was no other option, Tekkai could save your life; without it, you'd be dead on the spot.
And there was a difference between Tekkai and Armament Haki.
Tekkai was essentially an enhancement of basic defense, increasing the body's ability to withstand attacks; it allowed the body to take the hits. Armament Haki was like a shield; the shield took the hits first, and only if it couldn't withstand them would the body endure the damage.
Tekkai worked from the inside out, while Armament Haki worked from the outside in.
The two could be combined and stacked.
The air exploded with sound.
Wilton's expression tightened slightly. He rolled desperately on the ground, dodging as Dragon's right foot slammed deep into the earth, causing the surrounding ground to crack and buckle. Seeing that Wilton had evaded the kick, Dragon immediately flew low across the ground.
"Feverish Spin."
Wilton pushed off the ground with his left hand, flipping back to his feet. He spun his remaining dumbbell with his right hand, and another circular slash wave spread out in all directions.
Dragon, still charging forward, remained as ferocious as ever. His hands, covered in boiling Armament Haki, forcibly twisted the AOE slash wave. Then, he moved with lightning speed to stand before Wilton.
A deafening tearing sound accompanied Dragon's straightforward kick. It looked ordinary, but to Wilton, it felt like immense pressure, the air visibly distorting.
Damn it.
Facing the imminent danger, Wilton didn't flinch. Instead, his blood boiled even hotter. He gripped the remaining dumbbell tightly with both hands and swung down with the force of creation.
Instantly.
The ground within a five-hundred-meter radius collapsed. A powerful, invisible shockwave surged outward like a tidal wave. Upon collision, the dumbbell flew from his grasp, and Wilton felt a tingling numbness in both hands.
He had, after all, maintained the Tekkai state throughout.
Fortunately, the Explosive Double Axes had a slowing effect. Even if it was only for a brief second, it gave Wilton a chance to breathe. Otherwise, the outcome would have been dire.
"It seems I underestimated you."
Dragon's fierce eyes were filled with surprise. He hadn't expected his opponent to be able to withstand his attacks.
Moreover, the opponent's attacks were somewhat peculiar, seeming to affect his speed. It was very strange.
Seizing the advantage.
Dragon turned and unleashed a sidekick. Wilton quickly crossed his arms in front of him to block, but the power was too immense, like a mountain crashing into him.
Unable to deflect the impact, Wilton's arms slammed squarely into his own chest. After a muffled thud, he opened his mouth, spat out blood, and was sent flying backward.
Buildings collapsed.
Several streets were torn apart once more.
Giving Wilton no chance to catch his breath, Dragon appeared rapidly and threw a powerful punch. This time, Wilton didn't try to block it head-on. Using his Observation Haki, he managed to dodge it clumsily.
He used his Second Skill once more.
Even with bare fists, he unleashed two AOE slash waves.
Dragon was like a human beast, forcefully blocking the attacks with his sheer power and brute strength. His large foot, wrapped in Armament Haki, kicked ferociously towards Wilton. In the nick of time, Wilton raised his hand to intercept.
