Bang—
A deafening blast rang out.
The pirate who had pulled his pistol had barely finished speaking before he experienced the ultimate force pressing against his back. He shot out like a cannonball, smashing through everything in his path before finally collapsing in the ruins, his entire chest caved in.
The street erupted into chaos, and countless pirates cursed loudly.
Wilton killed him with a kick, then abruptly appeared beside Machvise after retracting his leg. He raised the dumbbell high and brought it crashing down.
One of the targets had been confirmed.
And since the man was a pirate, Wilton had nothing to hold back over. So what if he had a Shichibukai behind him?
"Damn it!"
"I'm an officer of the Donquixote Family! How dare a Marine like you attack me!"
Machvise' expression changed drastically, but the only reply he received was a jet-black dumbbell. Its crushing force ruptured even the air.
And Wilton's attack had come without the slightest warning.
In that split second, Machvise raised his hands to block. But the moment they touched the dumbbell, his face twisted in agony. His right arm snapped at once, and the dumbbell slammed into his chest.
The entire tavern thundered as Machvise was sent flying after it, blasting through street after street before crashing into a ruined building.
"Hey, hey, Machvise."
On the ground.
Diamante's voice came from the Den Den Mushi, accompanied by a distinctive "fufufu" laugh.
"Lord Wilton."
Never mind the pirates in the tavern—even Sadie and the others were dumbfounded. Why had he suddenly attacked? Sadie had also heard the other man say that he belonged to the Donquixote Family.
Could he be a subordinate of Heavenly Yaksha Donquixote Doflamingo?
That man also seemed to be a Shichibukai.
Within the ruins.
Machvise screamed in agony. His right arm dangled limply, clearly shattered, and after spitting out a mouthful of blood, he forced himself to his feet. His fierce face was full of rage.
How had that Marine dared to attack him?
It seemed that he had not provoked the man at all.
What was that sound?
A piercing rush of air came from overhead. Machvise looked up, and his hair stood on end. Wilton was descending from the sky, with two five-hundred-meter dumbbell phantoms appearing behind him, vast and imposing like two mountains.
"Marine, you're courting death!"
"Thousand Ton Bass!"
His face twisted viciously.
Machvise roared as his weight instantly rose to one thousand tons. He clenched his left fist and hurled it at the falling Wilton like an unstoppable meteor.
Bang—
A circular shockwave erupted from the dumbbell and fist, rapidly flattening the surrounding houses and streets. The faces of countless passing pirates and spectators changed in alarm.
Amid wave after wave of screams and curses, many pirates were flung away by the shockwave and severely injured. A few unlucky ones were killed outright.
That was exactly what Wilton wanted. As long as they were not innocent civilians, the more pirates caught up in it, the better. Ideally, every pirate in Spiders Cafe Town would die from it.
"That wasn't a thousand tons at all."
At the center.
A hundred-meter area had become a spiderweb-like crater. Machvise knelt on one knee, his face covered in blood and both arms hanging limply at his sides.
Wilton lifted his dumbbell. When Machvise had shouted "thousand tons," his heart had skipped a beat.
After all, it was supposed to be a thousand tons.
But after the collision, he discovered that the man had been exaggerating. He had even immediately activated Iron Body and pushed his Armament Haki to the limit.
He had gone all out from the beginning with Explosive Double Axes.
He had even prepared himself to be knocked back and injured by a counterattack. Who would have thought it would be all thunder and no rain?
"Do you know who I am?"
Machvise panted heavily and struggled to raise his head, glaring furiously at Wilton. At the same time, he was shocked by Wilton's strength.
Though he had only blocked in haste, he should not have been defeated so quickly.
He should have used Ten Thousand Ton Bass from the start.
Now that both his arms had been shattered, he had lost his ability to fight. He would remember this grudge.
Even now, Machvise firmly believed that this Marine would not dare kill him. After all, he had backing.
"I do. One of Doflamingo's men."
Wilton's expression remained calm. The moment he finished speaking, he brought the dumbbell down again, leaving Machvise seeing stars and bleeding from every orifice.
Until the moment he lost consciousness, his head was still buzzing.
"Tie him up."
Sadie and the others ran over at that point. Looking at the unconscious Machvise, pitiful and covered in blood, Sadie hesitated before saying, "Lord Wilton, this man may be one of Shichibukai Doflamingo's people."
"I know. That's why I attacked him."
"Huh?"
"Drag him along!"
Though Sadie did not understand, she still waved Minotaur Zebra over to drag Machvise away.
"Something huge has happened."
"That's Marine Tough Guy Wilton, the man who killed Shichibukai Crocodile not long ago. The person he just defeated was one of Heavenly Yaksha Donquixote Doflamingo's men, wasn't he?"
"Is the Marines going to move against the Shichibukai?"
Along the way.
Countless pirates were deeply unsettled. This Marine Tough Guy really was violent. First, he had personally killed a Shichibukai, and now he had attacked a subordinate of another Shichibukai without even a word.
Was he not afraid of causing a major incident?
Before this, many people had believed that Marine Tough Guy had only managed to kill a Shichibukai through absurd luck or some sort of scheme.
But now, that might not be the case.
"You all wait on shore."
After returning to the warship, Wilton had Sadie and the Marines stand guard on shore. Then, carrying the unconscious Machvise, he went to the side of the warship facing the open sea.
He dragged out a Seastone cage from the cabin, along with some fruit and a katana.
Splash—
A huge spray of water rose as Wilton locked Machvise and the fruit inside the Seastone cage. He tied it to the ship's railing with a rope, then threw it into the sea.
Still holding the katana, he jumped into the sea as well. Holding his breath, he swiftly swam down to the outside of the Seastone cage.
Machvise showed signs of waking up at that point. Since he was drowning and suffocating, he instinctively began struggling.
Wilton felt that he should grant Machvise his wish and give him a quick death. With a single slash, he drove the katana into Machvise' kidney. Once was not enough, so he did it twice.
Before long, the seawater was dyed red with blood. Machvise woke fully, his eyes bulging with terror and despair.
Gradually, Machvise stopped struggling and convulsing.
Wilton stared fixedly at the fruit outside the cage. It was finally his turn for this enormous windfall.
Under his tense and expectant gaze.
Among the pile of bananas, apples, pineapples, and Hami melons, one fruit gradually became covered in strange spiral patterns.
In the end, it turned into a Devil Fruit.
The Ton-Ton Fruit had been successfully extracted.
Wilton was overjoyed. He swiftly swam to the surface, leaped onto the warship, and quickly hauled up the cage by its rope. Then he opened it, grabbed the Ton-Ton Fruit, and rushed into his cabin and private quarters.
"Wihahaha~"
He was soaked from head to toe.
But Wilton was in an exceptionally good mood. He had known his luck could not possibly be that terrible forever.
This windfall had finally come to him.
The Ton-Ton Fruit looked very peculiar. Though it had regenerated from an apple, it had ultimately become a dark black fruit shaped like an old-fashioned oval weighing weight.
Spiral patterns circled around it one after another.
As Wilton carefully examined the Devil Fruit, he hesitated over whether to eat it. Through Dalmatian's connections, he had read the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia over the past five years.
The Ton-Ton Fruit was a Paramecia.
After eating it, one became a super-heavyweight human. Its ability was simple: it allowed the user to freely alter their own weight. When their weight became light enough, they could float through the air, gaining an ability similar to flight.
They could also increase their weight and crush enemies like a towering mountain.
