In the prison cell.
Buggy, Alvida, and Bartholomew were casually thrown on the ground. Opposite them were the Straw Hat Pirates, and next to them was Arlong.
Luffy had already woken up by this time. One had to admit, his vitality was incredibly tenacious.
It was very fitting for the characteristics of a Mythical Zoan.
Back when Wilton learned that the Gomu Gomu no Mi had become the Mythical Zoan: Nika Nika no Mi, his entire mind had shrunk.
If that's how things were going to be.
From now on, he would leave behind endless legends. If he ate any Paramecia Devil Fruit, and a later generation ate his Devil Fruit, wouldn't they be able to become a Zoan: Mythical Zoan: Wilton-Wilton Fruit?
It was just ridiculously speechless.
Bang—
They were slammed heavily onto the ground, face-planting. Coincidentally, this also woke Buggy and the others. Then, the two groups stared at each other, and a fight broke out.
Buggy and Alvida felt that all of this was because of Luffy.
If they hadn't come to seek revenge on Luffy, they wouldn't have run into the Marines and been captured.
This shouting match lasted for two to three hours.
However, it was mostly Buggy doing the shouting, as Luffy kept dozing off while arguing. During this time, more criminals were constantly being thrown into the cells, some were pirates, some were gangsters.
There were even mountain bandits.
After inquiring, it turned out they were all captured by that muscular Marine. The Marines at the base outside were going crazy. One of the thugs had simply teased an old lady and happened to be caught.
Not only did he get a severe beating, but he was also locked up here.
They said he was going to be sentenced to three years.
He was completely stunned at the time.
Three years?
It was simply tyrannical rule. He protested, he begged for mercy, but all he got in return was a righteous, glorious beating.
Overnight.
Because of Wilton, the Loguetown prison was overcrowded. Smoker and Tashigi stood outside the cells, listening to the various noises from inside and falling into thought.
This Rear Admiral's sense of justice seemed to be even stronger than they had imagined.
The next morning.
As soon as Tashigi woke up and finished her morning routine, she prepared to start her daily work. Passing by the training grounds, she found Wilton practicing. He had stacked ten one-ton barbells and was doing push-ups upside down, using just one finger.
It was quite a visual.
Sweat dripped freely from his perfectly sculpted body. Every movement was as if meticulously designed, and Wilton maintained a consistent rhythm.
"Rear Admiral Wilton."
"Good morning."
Tashigi approached and greeted him.
After the absurd workout in the reception room last time, she was only slightly shocked by Wilton's current training method. She didn't find it as ridiculous as last time.
"Good morning, Sergeant Tashigi."
Wilton switched to another finger and continued.
"Rear Admiral Wilton, didn't you rest last night?"
Tashigi remembered Wilton returning very late last night, but judging by his current state, he had woken up very early to train. He was truly hardworking. No wonder he had become a Rear Admiral at such a young age.
She really wasn't working hard enough.
"Yes."
"Just one or two nights without sleep, I don't believe I'll suddenly die."
"Sergeant Tashigi, please inform Colonel Smoker that I will be escorting criminals to Impel Down in an hour. The next time we meet, it might be on the Grand Line or in the New World."
He only had a few more sets of exercises left, which would take about thirty minutes. Then, he would spend ten minutes taking a bath, twenty minutes eating breakfast, and he would be ready to depart for Impel Down in an hour.
"Understood."
Tashigi snapped back to attention and nodded, her face filled with admiration and respect. Rear Admiral Wilton was not only dedicated to his duties but also trained so diligently. Furthermore, he had apprehended numerous criminals from day to night yesterday.
This sense of responsibility greatly inspired her.
If there were more people like Rear Admiral Wilton in the world, perhaps the seas wouldn't be so chaotic, and the world would be more peaceful.
"Oh, right. Please help me prepare breakfast for fifty people, and I'd also like to take a bath."
"I'll go prepare it right away."
Tashigi wasn't intimidated by the request for breakfast for fifty people. Sometimes, after her own training, she could eat enough food for five people.
An hour later.
The port.
Arlong, Buggy, Alvida, Bartholomew, Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami, and Usopp were all handcuffed and being escorted onto a warship by a group of Marines.
Nami and Usopp were crying their eyes out.
They had been captured before they had even left the East Blue, and now they faced a lifetime in prison, with their freedom, treasures, and dreams all gone.
The thought sent a wave of bitterness and despair through their hearts.
Looking out at the boundless, magnificent sea, the others also wore dejected expressions. Even Luffy hung his head, while Arlong continued to bellow and Buggy continued to curse.
"Hahahaha~"
"I heard Impel Down is the world's greatest prison. Once you enter, you can never escape. It's more terrifying than death. Are you ready?"
Arlong, his hands cuffed, wore a defiant and smug expression. He looked at Luffy, Nami, and the others with undisguised schadenfreude. He had thought he wouldn't see these guys again.
He never expected the surprise to come so quickly.
They had met again in just a few days, and now they were being escorted to Impel Down together.
If he were being escorted alone, his spirits wouldn't be so high. But now, all he could think was "awesome, awesome, awesome."
In a way, the Straw Hat Pirates were going down with him.
Ptooey!
Serves them right.
This was what happened when you meddled in other people's business.
"Hey, hey, hey! That Marine named Wilton, are you really not going to consider letting me go? If you let me go, I'll give you a treasure map. It's a real treasure map."
Buggy attempted to bribe his way out.
He had naturally heard of the world's greatest prison. Since its establishment, only Golden Lion, who contended with Captain Roger, had managed to escape, and even then, he paid with two legs.
He didn't have Golden Lion's strength. If he went in, he'd truly never be able to get out to search for treasure.
"A treasure map?"
Nami's pupils dilated. Her face, previously filled with despair, was now alight with excitement and eagerness. But when she looked down at the handcuffs on her wrists, she wilted like a frostbitten eggplant.
Wilton, who was talking with Smoker, waved his hand without even turning his head, signaling his subordinates to quickly escort these guys onto the warship. His Observation Haki had already spread out to its maximum range.
What was going on?
Dragon still hadn't appeared. Was he not going to save his son?
He knew it was unrealistic to send Luffy to Impel Down. As long as Dragon was in Loguetown, it wouldn't be possible.
However, he still held onto a sliver of hope.
What if, because of him, this little butterfly, the plot changed?
If Dragon dared not to show up, he dared to send Luffy in.
"Rear Admiral Wilton, have a safe journey."
After their conversation.
Tashigi and the Marines behind her saluted, their expressions serious. Although they had only interacted for a day, the overcrowded criminals in the base's cells already spoke volumes.
And Rear Admiral Wilton was always full of energy. Such a positive and enthusiastic attitude easily boosted the morale of those around him.
Very positive energy.
"Wahaha."
"Of course."
"Smoker, Tashigi, the East Blue is too small. I hope to see you in the Grand Line or the New World in the future, because that's where Justice is needed more."
Wilton continuously worked his biceps with dumbbells, believing Smoker and Tashigi to be quite good.
Within the Marines, he also needed some voices of support.
