Lu Ze and Xiao Yi Xian fought off Mu Li’s deputy commander, but Mu Li arrived and demanded the Fire Spirit Marrow. Xiao Yi Xian released corrosive yellow smoke into the courtyard as Mu Li prepared to attack Lu Ze.

• Xiao Yi Xian poisoned the deputy commander with a silver needle, giving Lu Ze a chance to wound him with the Emerald Water Sword.
• The deputy commander retreated when Mu Li’s immense Dou Qi pressure approached, warning Lu Ze and Xiao Yi Xian that the commander was coming.
• Lu Ze and Xiao Yi Xian exchanged a brief plan, and Lu Ze prepared to use one last attack despite his exhausted Dou Qi.
• Mu Li arrived at the Wang Yao Residence and demanded to know where the Fire Spirit Marrow was.
• Mu Li noticed Lu Ze drawing vitality from nearby blood and raised his broadsword to attack.
• Xiao Yi Xian released dense, corrosive yellow smoke from the medicine storehouse, and it spread through the rear courtyard.

Lu Ze and Xiao Yi Xian escaped Mu Li’s assault on the Myriad Medicine Pavilion and fled into the mountains, leaving the Wolf Head Mercenary Group to search for them. They headed toward Cliffside Valley and hid in a cave as Lu Ze used [Earth Shaman] to conceal their presence from the searchers.

• Lu Ze escaped through a hidden drainage tunnel beneath the well, while Mu Li discovered the passage and ordered the Wolf Head Mercenary Group to surround the shop and search Qingshan Town for the Fire Spirit Marrow.
• Lu Ze and Xiao Yi Xian reached an abandoned Earth God Temple, where they acknowledged the loss of the Myriad Medicine Pavilion and prepared to flee with their remaining supplies.
• Lu Ze chose to head for Cliffside Valley, and Xiao Yi Xian warned him that its miasma was far more dangerous than the surrounding areas.
• The pair traveled through the rain-soaked forest and found a narrow cave while search parties from the Wolf Head Mercenary Group combed the mountains.
• Xiao Yi Xian treated Lu Ze’s wounds and warned that their medicines would only protect them from the miasma for four to six hours.
• Lu Ze used [Earth Shaman] to merge their living presence with the surrounding rocks and mud as the searchers approached.

Lu Ze and Xiao Yi Xian entered Cliffside Valley, discovered a strange clash of extreme cold and heat, and found a Twofold Flower guarded by Flame Lizards. Lu Ze unleashed the cold Qi beneath the nest to incapacitate the beasts and pulled the flower free.

• Lu Ze and Xiao Yi Xian hid from a powerful Dou Qi pressure by assimilating themselves with the earth veins.
• Xiao Yi Xian identified Ice Marrow Moss, and Lu Ze sensed a huge magical beast-like presence underground beneath Cliffside Valley.
• When the poisonous white fog burned Lu Ze, Xiao Yi Xian made a medicinal coating from Ice-Crack Vines and Fire Hemp Mushrooms to protect them.
• The pair crossed the fog and found a Twofold Flower surrounded by Flame Lizards.
• Lu Ze shattered a cold rock vein beneath the lizards, freezing and weakening them, then used Suction Palm to uproot the Twofold Flower.

Lu Ze and Xiao Yi Xian escaped the awakening Earth Dragon but were trapped inside Cliffside Valley when its entrance collapsed. They hid behind a waterfall, where Xiao Yi Xian prepared an Ice-Fire Body Tempering Pill that restored Lu Ze; Mu Li's capture squad still waited outside as Lu Ze considered their next move.

• Lu Ze killed two Flame Lizards, took the Twofold Flower, and fled with Xiao Yi Xian as the valley began collapsing.
• A peak third-rank beast revealed itself beneath the fissures, but stayed near the cold vein to suppress its fire poison; its roar brought down the valley's only exit.
• Lu Ze sensed Mu Li and the Wolf Head Mercenary Group waiting five li away, then took Xiao Yi Xian to a hidden cavern behind a waterfall.
• Xiao Yi Xian divided and ground the Twofold Flower with Coldwater Grass and Frost Marrow Grass to make two Ice-Fire Body Tempering Pills.
• Lu Ze swallowed a pill and endured its violent effects, which healed his damaged meridians and restored him to peak condition.
• Lu Ze sensed that Mu Li's squad remained outside and saw Xiao Yi Xian resting beside the remaining Twofold Flower materials and gathered herbs.

Lu Ze uncovered the location of fire flame crystals in Cliffside Valley and returned to the earthfire fissure to obtain them. He found a Flame Demon Spider guarding the crystals and unleashed a torrent of cold water against it, leaving the confrontation unresolved.

• Lu Ze discovered that the bone fragment pointed to an earthfire fissure containing fire flame crystals, the high-rank fire-attribute material he needed for deduction.
• Lu Ze told Xiao Yi Xian he was returning to the fissure, and she gave him frost marrow grass and snow lotus seed paste to protect him from the heat.
• Lu Ze reached the underground cavern and found three fire flame crystals guarded by a peak second-order Flame Demon Spider.
• Lu Ze used Earth Shaman to locate a dried underground cold spring beneath the spider and struck the rock until the cold water burst upward and struck its abdomen.
