The passage of time had not brought humanity the truth. As the ages changed and the Abyss closed, future skyscrapers became covered in smooth metal, people dressed more fashionably, and their ideas underwent earth-shaking changes. Yet even then, Abyss Bottom remained full of unknowns to humanity.
It was a strange feeling, like an ancient human from over two thousand years ago traveling to the present and discovering that modern humanity still could not calculate the trajectory of the "wind." He would find that the so-called "fluid mechanics formulas" modern humans had come up with were merely empirical formulas, not all that different from divining with Turtle Shells.
