Mo Ling lightly flicked Little Fatty on the head and spoke seriously.
Clear tear streaks still hung on Little Fatty's face, but he obediently nodded.
"And you lot, too." Mo Ling repeated to the group of followers behind Little Fatty.
No matter the era, there were always unruly children. These kids looked quite "well-behaved" now, but after they got home, they would probably start causing trouble again before long.
"Are you really not a monster?" Little Fatty asked, staring at Mo Ling with his big round eyes.
"I'm really not... How many times have I told you? I became like this because of a Relic. I'm human." Mo Ling answered helplessly. He had no idea how many times he had answered that question already.
Ever since Mo Ling had explained himself and dragged the children out of the manor, Little Fatty had kept asking him the same question.
"Why were you staying in that haunted house?" Little Fatty's face remained full of curiosity.
"This was where a friend of mine used to live. I just came back to take a look."
"Your friend? No one's lived here for decades... Are you really that old?" Little Fatty scrutinized Mo Ling's body and asked suspiciously.
"I am very old. I was born over a hundred years ago." Mo Ling did not want to lie to children, so he explained indifferently.
"Over a hundred years old!?" Little Fatty's mouth fell open. "Were you there when the Abyss descended?"
"Yes. The Abyss happened to descend on my city. It took quite a lot of effort to escape back then..."
After hearing Mo Ling's account, Little Fatty pondered for a while. "So that means you're from Dawn City too?"
