Guesswork

Li Luo wandered aimlessly across the stone bricks, feeling as though she had overlooked something.

"Pyramid, stone bricks, shadows..."

Thinking back to the pyramid she had just climbed, Li Luo could not shake the feeling that something was strange.

Ever since she had climbed those steps, she had felt that something seemed to be missing from the temple entrance. It was as if something had originally been placed there, then moved away.

The temple itself was strange as well. It was too "empty," as though it had been built halfway and then stripped clean.

Not only that, there were signs of "demolition."

"Very smooth cuts."

Even recalling them now, Li Luo still felt utterly perplexed.

There were cuts in the center of the temple and beside the wall near its deepest section. These cuts were completely different from those on the stone bricks used to build the temple. They were smoother and more precise, as if they had been deliberately made with modern processing tools and positioned with extreme accuracy.

"Why would these marks appear inside such an ancient pyramid?"

Moreover, the cuts felt deeply familiar, but she simply could not remember where she had seen them before...

And she had always felt that something seemed to be lurking in the shadows at the temple's corners. The Night Vision Device on her head showed some sort of swaying outlines there, but whenever she approached, those outlines vanished, like a thin cloud of black mist.
