Though it was metal, it made a sound like glass. Li Luo was certain it was not any material she remembered.
The chains stopped tightening. Once the pressure reached the Rhomboid Metal's limit, the material seemed to begin "self-destructing."
The originally hard metal simply "shattered." Spider web-like cracks spread across its surface and continued extending inward. Tiny metal particles resembling glass shards were squeezed out of the metal mass, then sliced into even finer metallic dust when they struck the teeth of the Chain Saw...
The metal construct compressed within that confined space did not warp like normal metal. Instead, it broke apart directly.
As the cracks continued to spread, the chains filled with silvery-white metal powder, which was then stirred up and scattered everywhere by the still rapidly spinning Chain Saw.
Suddenly, Li Luo saw several blinding flashes light up amid the flying dust.
They were not sparks produced by metal grinding together, but slender rays like lasers. They seeped out through the cracks in the shattered surface, then reflected continuously within the space enclosed by the chains before gradually fading away.
"What was that?"
Before Li Luo could make it out, countless more laser beams burst forth. Even the Ram-Headed Man's vision was dazzled. When his sight gradually recovered and she looked again, the place where the metal had been contained nothing but heaps of dust. The lasers that had just raged everywhere had vanished without a trace.
And amid that metal powder, a solid object seemed to have appeared.
It was a silver-white short sword no longer than an arm. It had no guard and no Sword Sheath, only a bare hilt attached to a blade that glinted coldly. It looked less like a sword than a long needle.
This was exactly what those flying swords had
