As dust churned, the ruins seemed to grow even more silent and desolate.

Darkness seemed capable of concealing everything, yet it could not hide the even more shattered walls and rubble. Like the wails of the Old World, they stretched their arms out from chaotic graves as Cubes danced through the sky.

The swirling currents seemed to shake the very ground. Those black arms swayed ceaselessly with the wind, crying out their unwillingness.

The Cubes still pulsed, harvesting the Sky Soldiers that had yet to fully take shape.

But Mo Ling sensed that something was wrong.

"It's too dark..."

Even if the dust had drifted into the air, it should not have been this dark. It was as if all light had been utterly devoured, leaving the entire world occupied by deathly darkness. Mo Ling had almost thought he had returned to the Eternal Night.

Though the ruins had long been gray and hazy, they had never been this dark. Mo Ling looked up at the sky. Beyond the limits of his vision, something seemed to be descending.

The Sky Soldiers delivered before him were merely insignificant bait.

"Something is covering the sky."

Though he could not see beyond his field of vision, Mo Ling could sense from the changes in light that something had definitely appeared above the swirling dust.

"Other Sky Soldiers?"

Apparently not. Could Sky Soldiers be this large?

Or had they all gathered together?

As Mo Ling cleared away those Sky Soldier outlines, he kept watch on the increasingly dim sky. Beyond the howling wind, strange sounds seemed to be gathering over his head.

At last, a metallic corner broke through the boundary and entered Mo Ling's field of vision.

It was indeed a Sky Soldier, but it was also different.
