Background / History

Origins and Academy Years

Yubi is a transmigrator who recognizes people and events from the original Naruto story. His knowledge includes Sasori’s eventual departure from Sunagakure and Pakura’s future sacrifice, but not every detail of the ongoing war. He worries that his presence may alter events he expects to happen 1 5 8.

Born to civilian-background shinobi Hase and Rika, Yubi becomes an orphan after both parents die in the Second Shinobi World War. He lives in an outlying part of Sunagakure, keeping their memorial portraits at home. His background initially limits his access to the village’s influential families and leaders 12 22 23.

He begins conditioning his body before entering the Ninja Academy and later interns at the village hospital. His medical knowledge attracts Chiyo’s attention, although his Academy performance is otherwise described as fairly ordinary 4 10 12.

Border Fighting and Recognition

In Year 40 of the Hokage calendar, Yubi joins a border patrol initially escorted by Rasa. He impresses the outpost’s Chunin by cleaning and dressing an infected wound, earning medical experience through his system 1.

Amegakure’s infiltration turns the assignment into a prolonged battle. Yubi treats casualties, kills three pursuing enemies while covering another medic’s escape, and acquires his first Medical Ninjutsu. His treatment helps wounded defenders return to combat, contributing to the stronghold’s resistance until reinforcements arrive. He collapses from exhaustion afterward 6 7 8 10.

The Third Kazekage subsequently places Yubi and Sasori under Arai. Yubi claims to have learned Medical Ninjutsu independently during his internship, concealing the system’s involvement. He deliberately seeks further recognition, believing influence within the leadership is necessary to change Sunagakure 12.

Under Arai, he trains and raids Amegakure positions with Sasori. By the end of this assignment, he becomes the second Genin of his age after Sasori to complete an A-rank mission. His supposed invention of Blade Intent Manipulation earns him an audience with the village leadership 14 16 17 20 21.

Hospital Reforms and Assassination Attempt

Back in Sunagakure, Yubi identifies inadequate medical infrastructure as a preventable cause of deaths. With Chiyo’s permission, he trains hospital staff, explains surgical procedures and their reasoning, prepares written materials, and introduces specialized instruments. After three months, his reforms improve the village’s ability to return injured shinobi to service and establish his reputation as a young miracle doctor 24 25.

Two infiltrators later lure him outside normal patrol routes by impersonating an Anbu escort and the Third Kazekage. Yubi survives an abdominal stab wound through Yin Healing Wound Destruction and fights back. The incident leads to a village lockdown, protective Anbu surveillance, and postponement of his Chunin examination 28 29 30.

Yubi privately suspects Danzō and Root but withholds that knowledge because he cannot explain how he obtained it. Chiyo later confirms that a Konoha infiltrator targeted him after Hanzō passed information to Danzō 30 48.

Blood Manipulation and Political Alliance

On a mission against Konoha’s supply routes, Yubi kills Inuzuka Kuri using his threads and Chakra Scalpel. A subsequent confrontation with the Jonin Otani exposes the limits of his predictive fighting style: Otani moves too quickly for him to prepare his healing technique and inflicts a fatal wound 37 38 40 41.

Still alive but approaching death, Yubi purchases Blood Manipulation. By sustaining his circulation long enough to administer Medical Ninjutsu, he survives. He later presents the ability as an awakened inheritance from his father, with no surviving genealogy or teachings that could verify its origins 42 44.

The leadership’s interest in his bloodline reinforces his concern that it treats talented shinobi as assets. When Sasori voices similar resentment, Yubi redirects his anger toward the people governing Sunagakure rather than the village itself. The two agree on a future purge of its power structure 45.

After another six-month mission, Yubi returns to a public welcome that he interprets as partly arranged to cultivate his loyalty. The Third Kazekage identifies him and Sasori as potential leaders of Sunagakure’s next wartime generation, then personally faces Yubi in a public Chunin assessment 48 49.

Appearance

He frequently teases Sasori and confidently calls him a friend despite Sasori’s outward rejection of familiarity 11 22 26.

Behind that manner is a calculating reformer. He deliberately turns medical achievements, public affection, and his apparent bloodline awakening into political leverage. His loyalty is directed toward improving Sunagakure rather than preserving its existing leadership; he blames the Third Kazekage’s decisions for the village’s wartime losses 12 21 27 32 45.

His work as a doctor mixes concern for others with a strong drive for personal growth. During the border battle, experience rewards motivate him to continue treating patients beyond exhaustion. He also practices pragmatic triage, conserving scarce supplies when he judges a casualty beyond saving 7 8.

Yubi becomes excited under mortal pressure. Arai witnesses his exhilaration after a deadly raid, while Sasori recognizes the same unsettling intensity against Otani and the Third Kazekage. During the Otani battle, this frenzy is also tied to survival instinct and his determination not to die before accomplishing his plans 16 42 49.

Yubi possesses a system that exchanges experience for medically related abilities, knowledge, and items, including powers originating outside the Naruto world 1 17 27.

• Negative Experience Points: Earned through killing; purchase harmful medically related abilities, including assassination techniques and effects involving disease, toxins, or organs 17.

Yubi combines extensive anatomical knowledge with surgical practice, rapid diagnosis, and precise chakra control. His expertise supports both patient care and lethal attacks against vulnerable anatomy 4 7 24.

Data Taijutsu

Yubi’s self-developed fighting framework uses medical observation and accumulated data to estimate an opponent’s movements and physical capabilities 4 13.

• Identifies mobility limits, vulnerable anatomy, and signs of physical illness or impairment 4.
• Supports precise strikes against nerve-sensitive areas and disabling scalpel attacks 7.
