Shihui Aburame took control of the Land of Fire, made himself its daimyo, and began planning reforms while preparing Konoha for the political fallout. As the other villages and the Akatsuki reacted, Nagato sent the Six Paths of Pain toward Konoha, beginning the next confrontation.

• Sasuke Uchiha used his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan to plant commands in the imprisoned officials, and Shihui Aburame took the daimyo’s seat.
• Shihui ordered Uchiha Mikoto to secure the other two great generals and announced plans to become daimyo, recruit non-Konoha ninja, and establish a Marketing Department.
• The Fourth Raikage and his aides discussed Shihui’s rise and continued searching for the missing Yugito Nii, while Konan learned of the news and Nagato resolved to go to Konoha.
• Shihui returned to Konoha, discussed reforms and road-building across the Land of Fire with Shizune, and explained that he planned to move there while keeping Konoha as a residential area for ninja families.
• The next day, Nagato and Konan reached a forest near Konoha, where Nagato ordered Deva Path Pain, made from Yahiko’s corpse, to advance.

Shihui Aburame confronted Nagato’s Six Paths of Pain and Konan outside Konoha, protecting the village with a barrier and overwhelming several of Pain’s attacks. Pain used Chibaku Tensei to trap him, but Shihui broke free in his Six Arm Heavenly Zombie King form and faced the stunned invaders.

• Deva Path Pain discovered Konoha’s new defensive barrier, abandoned the plan to sneak in, and led the others to attack through the main gate.
• Shihui Aburame met the Six Paths of Pain and Konan outside the barrier, while Jiraiya and Konoha’s other fighters arrived and recognized their old connection to Yahiko and Konan.
• Deva Path Pain attacked with Banshō Ten’in and Shinra Tensei, but Shihui blocked the black rod and forced Pain backward with his strength.
• Shihui used Heavenly Waterfall Light River to overwhelm Preta Path, then smashed through a stronger Shinra Tensei and destroyed Asura Path’s rocket fist and the Hellhound.

• Shihui Aburame used Six Arm Heavenly Zombie King to withstand Deva Path Pain’s attacks, then defeated him even after Pain unleashed Super Shinra Tensei inside Battle Space Gu.
• The Sage of Six Paths sensed Shihui Aburame’s death energy and watched him before closing the mirror when he realized Shihui could detect him.
• Konan revealed her wager with Shihui Aburame, and Nagato agreed to go to Konoha with her while refusing to become a Konoha ninja; Shihui returned Yahiko’s body to them.

• Shihui Aburame gave Shizune the Blood Curtain Heavenly Flower Gu to protect Konoha while he went to war.
• Shihui joined Mitaraishi Anko’s force, uncovered Kumogakure scouts, and learned that Otogakure would host Konoha’s troops.
• Kabuto Yakushi reported that Kumogakure had attacked and occupied Otogakure, so Shihui went there alone while Konan and Nagato stayed with the main force.

As Killer B began a Partial Tailed Beast Transformation, Shihui remained invisible nearby while Obito Uchiha and Black Zetsu watched for an opening.

• Yugito Nii and Dodai fired the Chakra Cannon at Shihui Aburame, but he survived and repelled Kumogakure’s attacks.
• Samui led the arriving Kumogakure force against Shihui, who killed many of the ninja and shattered the Chakra Cannon’s enhanced blast.

Nagato, the Fourth Raikage, and Killer B fought until Obito Uchiha attempted to capture Nagato, but Shihui Aburame intervened and forced Obito to survive with Izanagi. Shihui revealed himself and fought Obito and the Fourth Raikage; as the chapter ended, Killer B fully transformed into the Eight-Tails to face him.

• Killer B and the Fourth Raikage attacked Nagato together, but Nagato countered them with Shinra Tensei and absorbed Killer B's chakra.
