Chapter Summaries

Fang Yan confronted Lysandre at his laboratory, retrieved the Giant Rainbow Rock, and defeated Lysandre and Malva's Pokémon after accusing Lysandre of targeting Shauna and Zhishi. He left with the girls while Gary stayed in Kalos to watch Lysandre, who ended up unconscious in the Distortion World.

• Fang Yan arrived at Lysandre's laboratory with Shauna and Zhishi, where he found Alain and confronted Lysandre.
• Lysandre returned the Giant Rainbow Rock, and Fang Yan sent it through a Distortion Passage with Giratina's help.

Fang Yan and the Pokémon Day Care group went to Twinleaf Town for Thanksgiving, where Shauna joined the marathon after seeing her supporters’ banners. As Shauna headed to the start in Ridge Town, Zhishi noticed the meteorite in her arms growing more lively.

Steven and Wallace asked whether their Pokémon could learn to do the same, while Gothitelle sensed an ominous threat to its kind; the chapter ended with Shauna and Zhishi at school alongside several hidden Pokémon.

• Fang Yan Mega Evolved Gengar, which defeated Steven’s Mega Metagross by using Dark Void’s reversed gravity to pull it into an explosion.

• During second period, Shauna and Zhishi ate Gothitelle’s braised pig’s trotters outside while Jirachi questioned why the teachers treated them differently.
• Shauna asked to go to PE, then took Zhishi and Jirachi on a tour of the school, including a visit to the elderly guard.
• Shauna visited Principal Saqi, replaced his tea with the Pokémon Day Care’s specialty tea, and left him planning to make space for her and her friends to relax and play.

When the girls’ shoes sparked a search-and-rescue operation, Fang Yan and Cynthia realized it was a false alarm and waited for them on the beach.

• Shauna brought Jirachi and Zhishi to the seaside, and Jirachi admitted it had never seen the ocean or learned to swim.
• Shauna wrote a wish asking Jirachi, Zhishi, and the others to gain the ability to dive, and Jirachi granted it.

Shauna and Zhishi returned from exploring an underwater palace and were punished by Fang Yan for secretly going into the deep sea. After dinner, Fang Yan secretly left food for the cocooned group, and Shauna’s bold threats earned her dessert anyway.

• Shauna, Zhishi, and Jirachi visited an underwater palace, while Fang Yan explained to Cynthia, Steven, and Wallace that the sea had blessed Shauna with what he called the Heart of the Sea.
• Fang Yan caught Shauna and Zhishi returning to shore with Latias and the others, then had Gothitelle carry them to the Pokémon Day Care and cocoon them as punishment.

• Jirachi said goodbye to Shauna and Zhishi as it weakened and prepared to sleep for a thousand years.
• Rayquaza returned with the Giant Rainbow Rock, said it had driven back the injured Ultra Necrozma, and agreed to take Jirachi into space.
• Fang Yan accidentally triggered Rayquaza's Mega Evolution by shouting "Dragon Ascent," and Rayquaza flew toward space, draining Fang Yan's energy in the process.
• Cynthia told Fang Yan that Professor Kukui had named the black Ultra Beast in Alola Necrozma.
• Fang Yan realized that the Necrozma in Alola might be separate from the Ultra Necrozma waiting in space.

Fang Yan investigated the appearance of Necrozma in Alola and learned that it belonged to his spacetime, while the Ultra Necrozma guarded by Rayquaza had come from another one. Palki returned wounded after being summoned away to fight and explained that Ultra Necrozma had attacked their world, injuring Arceus and causing the events at Michina Temple.

• Fang Yan and Cynthia discussed the Necrozma Cynthia had encountered in Alola and wondered how another one could exist while Rayquaza guarded Ultra Necrozma in space.
• Fang Yan tried to contact Palkia but could not sense it, so he summoned Dialga and the two Celebi; Dialga said a powerful force had taken Palkia.
• Giratina joined them, and Dialga confirmed that the Alola Necrozma belonged to their timeline.
• Palki returned wounded and said it had been dragged into a fight by a Hoopa from another spacetime before being sent back.

Fang Yan visited with the returning Celebi before being paralyzed and strung up alongside Gengar at the Pokémon Day Care. He then answered a call from Twinleaf Town and discovered that a Beedrill swarm had attacked people after someone stole its honey, leaving him to arrange its return and calm the swarm.

• Fang Yan welcomed the two Celebi back to the Day Care, where they joined Meloetta, Victini, Latias, and the children in the garden.
• Lilligant paralyzed Fang Yan and left him hanging from a tree, and Gengar was later strung up after stealing Alcremie's cake.
• Fang Yan received a call from acting Officer Jenny in Twinleaf Town about a rampaging Beedrill swarm and rode Ninetales there with Gothitelle, Shauna, and Gengar.
• Fang Yan stopped the Beedrill with Ninetales's flames and learned from their leader that someone had stolen the swarm's honey.

• Fang Yan returned the stolen honey to the Beedrill, gave them Vespiquen’s Honey, and stopped them from retaliating against the arrested Trainers.
• Fang Yan ordered Officer Jenny to expel the adult Trainers from Twinleaf Town and bar them from Sinnoh competitions for a year, while Nurse Joy later corrected an intern’s report and advised Fang Yan to let the Officer Jennys gain experience.
