Senju Chen expanded his influence in Konoha while secretly building a network of rescued Kekkei Genkai children and training future leaders in Kirigakure. He brought Mei Terumi to Food Is Heaven for refuge as Obito Uchiha waited for Genji’s death and prepared to seize control of Kirigakure.
Senju Chen turned Mei Terumi’s grief into training, then infiltrated Kirigakure’s academy and used its brutal graduation exam to rise to power. After securing Zabuza Momochi’s loyalty and arranging his escape, Chen exposed a suspected Iwagakure spy and faced Kirigakure’s instructors as they accused him of murder.
After consolidating his hidden base and returning to Konoha, Senju Chen confronted the truth behind Hatake Sakumo’s supposed death and began reforms in the village. The arc ended with Tsunade demonstrating that Chen had restored Maruboshi Kosuke’s lost foot to the Elders.
Senju Chen expanded Konoha’s medical and technological programs while helping Yakumo master her dangerous power and reuniting Kakashi with Sakumo. As Naruto and Sasuke began school and the Public Security elites trained with new tools, the arc left Kakashi and Sakumo about to face Shisui and Itachi in a team match.
Kakashi and the Public Security Department elites trained to fight through White Zetsu Puppet bodies, then faced their seniors in a graduation exam. Kakashi reunited with Rin, and Senju Chen recruited Kabuto into the dangerous research into the God Masks.
Senju Chen established the Hive, introduced limb regeneration and Scientific Ninja Tools, and secured funding and support for their use in Konoha. After curing Kurama Yakumo and restoring disabled ninjas, he began building support for reforming the Ninja Academy, leaving Naruto and Sasuke curious about a device he gave Naruto.
Senju Chen pushed Konoha toward scientific training while reassuring Naruto about his parents and expanding his hidden base. After Hanzo’s attack left Yahiko near death, Chen brought him to the laboratory and began transferring his soul into a White Zetsu Puppet while his body was repaired.
Senju Chen organized a coordinated assault on Kirigakure, freed Yagura from Obito’s control, and turned the village’s forces toward a new order. The arc ended with Kirigakure’s defenders surrendering and the elders’ role in the clan massacres exposed.
Senju Chen consolidated Kirigakure’s new leadership, expanded reforms in Konoha, and used Frost’s Descent to secure mining rights while pursuing a hidden intelligence buyer. As his puppet research advanced, Obito discovered the Demonic Statue’s transformed base and went searching for Nagato, while Senju Chen learned of his visit.
Senju Chen helped Nagato use Yahiko’s puppet to lure Obito, then staged Konoha’s visit to make rival nations believe the Akatsuki had chosen Konoha as its ally. The arc ended with Jiraiya learning that Nagato, Konan, and Yahiko were all alive, while Senju Chen considered the political consequences of the Land of Rain’s new position.
Senju Chen expanded the Land of Rain’s trade network, uncovered a Konoha infiltration linked to Black Zetsu, and awakened powerful ocular and fused abilities. He strengthened his ties with the Uchiha and ended the arc considering Shikkotsu Forest despite Tsunade’s warning that its Senjutsu could kill him.
Senju Chen explored the Three Great Sage Lands, stole and fused new abilities, and passed Ryūchi Cave’s trials. He secured the White Snake Sage’s permission to learn Senjutsu but postponed training to prepare and explore the cave’s outer regions.
Senju Chen strengthened his War God Body in Ryūchi Cave and sent clones to train in all three Sage Lands while he managed Konoha’s affairs. When Kumogakure’s delegation arrived to gather intelligence and pursue the Byakugan, Chen monitored its members and tested Killer B, but failed to draw out the emotional reactions he sought.
Senju Chen used illusions and patient kindness to draw Fū close, then stole Chōmei and rescued her when Takigakure ninja attacked. After Fū agreed to go with him, Obito ordered Black Zetsu to investigate Kirisame Ryo, while Black Zetsu resolved to act before Obito discovered that Minazuki Yuki was Rin Nohara.
Obito discovered that Rin was alive and serving as the Three-Tails’ Jinchūriki, forcing Black Zetsu to persuade him to continue the Eye of the Moon Plan. Meanwhile, Senju Chen expanded his research and influence, and Konoha’s clans backed his potion program as Shikaku argued that Chen was preparing to unify the shinobi world.
