Background / History

Previous Life and Transmigration

In his original world, Zhou Qiong headed the Hua Country Traditional Martial Arts Association and possessed martial prowess unrivaled on his planet. His body exploded while he was attempting to enter the legendary Shattering Realm 1.

He awakened in the body of another Zhou Qiong, the Demon Sect’s injured leader, and spent a month absorbing its memories. The original owner was the son of former Sect Master Zhou Shentong. After his father’s unexpected death when he was eighteen, he spent two years stabilizing the sect. He later suffered fatal Qi deviation while attempting a breakthrough during seclusion 1.

Consolidating the Demon Sect

The Invincible Villain System gave Zhou Qiong the means to survive despite his damaged meridians and uncertain authority. At his first court assembly, he subdued the Third Elder for opposing him, sentenced him to a year at Reflection Cliff, and ordered the Tiger King and Monkey King to destroy the Jade Dragon Sword Sect 1 2.

He strengthened the sect through compulsory cultivation arts, distributed the Demon Emperor Art to senior members, and supplied the Twelve Demon Kings with breakthrough pills. He subsequently abolished the Elders’ Council and redesignated its members as protectors 6 7.

East Sea Campaign and Luna

Zhou Qiong brought the Demon Sect to the East Sea to confront the beast tide. He defeated Demon Emperor Su Huang, damaged his Emperor Grade spear, and drained half his cultivation power. Before fleeing, Su Huang broke the seal imprisoning the fallen angel Luna 9 10.

Zhou Qiong killed Luna, but unleashing the Divine Light of Annihilation damaged his fused Gods and Devils Eye and inflicted serious internal injuries. Ordinary cultivation could not repair the damage, and the remedies he needed were beyond his purchasing power 11 12.

Unifying the Cangwu Continent

Seeking the rewards of a system mission, Zhou Qiong ordered the destruction of Golden Mountain Temple and Hanging Void Hall. At Hanging Void Mountain, he overwhelmed Ximen Tian and Daoist Chongxu, then adopted the name Zhou Wudi to complete a separate title quest. He also purchased a Lesser Nirvana Pill to save the critically wounded Grand Protector 12 18 20.

After learning how to reopen the continent’s ascension passage, he committed the Demon Sect to conquering the continent before entering the Upper Realm. He deliberately paced the campaign so he could strengthen himself before collecting the unification reward. The Great Yu Dynasty fell, while the Great Wilderness Dynasty, Great Qian Dynasty, Yellow Sand Fort, and Talisman Sect submitted and agreed to pay tribute 23 25 27.

Ascension and Black King City

Zhou Qiong obtained energy stones through the system to reopen the ascension passage. He eventually entered Black King City with more than five thousand Demon Sect members, confronted the Blue Rain Clan for attacking his followers, and grievously wounded One-Eyed Clan patriarch Long Chang 29 31.

When seven Eternal Realm experts surrounded him and demanded the secret behind his Lower Realm, he used a Greater Teleportation Talisman to evacuate the entire sect. He then established a new Heavenly Demon Peak ten thousand miles outside the city, protected by a True Martial-grade formation 32 33.

Kongtong Secret Realm

At Elder Mu’s birthday celebration, Zhou Qiong claimed Long Chang’s former seat and presented half a drop of Immortal Spirit Marrow. Elder Mu rewarded him with a special immortal peach, while Liansheng secured the Demon Sect’s qualification for the Kongtong Secret Realm 35 36.

Inside the realm, Zhou Qiong discovered Asura Xueqi beneath the ground. After confirming that the system would protect him from possession, he obtained the Asura Pearl and removed Xueqi’s sealing talisman. The system destroyed Xueqi’s invading soul, allowing Zhou Qiong to devour the corpse. He later attacked Zhao Li and killed Elder Fu, although Zhao Li escaped 38 39.

Zhou Qiong then eliminated the hostile faction leaders gathered against him. He spared the Flower Clan after its leaders offered submission, took Black King City from Elder Mu, and forced Elder Mu to become a Demon Sect protector. He ordered the destruction of the other defeated factions while initially exempting the Flower Clan and Sword Sect 40 41.

Expansion into the Land of Chaos

Zhou Qiong compelled the Sword Sect to leave Black King City within three days, warning Shangguan Yun that their next meeting would end in submission or death. He enlarged Heavenly Demon Peak with breathing soil and accepted a system mission to dominate the Land of Chaos 43 44.

After two years of preparation, he demanded Heavenly Sea City’s submission. When the Hong Family refused, he marched on the city with one hundred thousand sect members. His saber clash with Hong Tu shattered the protective formation and carved a vast trench beside the city; Hong Tu’s fate was not established in the supplied account 45 46.

Upon learning that Half-Saint ruins had opened, Zhou Qiong accepted an exploration mission and departed with Liansheng, Ning Wu, and the Demon Kings, leaving Bai Haotian in charge of the sect 50.

Appearance

  • Clothing: Wears black battle robes and a Demon Dragon Battle Robe 20 38 41.
  • Forehead mark: A silver-black lightning-shaped mark conceals the Gods and Devils Eye between his brows 1.
  • Activated eye: Opens as a black vertical eye capable of emitting numerous rays of light 37.
  • Aura: Frequently manifests towering demonic flames; absorbing the Asura Pearl adds a distinctly sinister Sha Qi to his presence 20 39.

Personality

Zhou Qiong treats strength as the most reliable solution to danger and political resistance. He deliberately uses the Third Elder’s punishment to intimidate senior figures who had served his father, and he rejects the Elders’ Council’s cautious approach as incompatible with the Demon Sect’s identity 1 2 6.

His confidence does not prevent calculated retreat. When surrounded in Black King City, he evacuates rather than exhaust his limited enhanced attacks. He also investigates Zhao Li as a potential “protagonist” and explicitly rejects waiting for a dangerous enemy to become strong enough to challenge him 25 32.

He rewards loyalty and invests heavily in his followers, but shows little restraint toward outsiders. He spends substantial resources to save Bai Haotian and improve the sect, while threatening extermination against resisting factions. He also breaks his promise to spare Qian Sihai and the Ghost Clan leader, having Liansheng kill them after they turn on Lan Yukong 7 20 27 40 45.
