As a holy place for Church of the Holy Light, Grand Monastery often receives pilgrims, so there are always many guest rooms here. It is very simple to arrange two empty houses for Aaron and them to stay.
However, although these guest rooms are very tidy and look like they are often cleaned, the furnishings in the rooms are very simple, with a bed, a chair, a cabinet at the bedside, and nothing else.
Lying on the bed, Aaron found it difficult to fall asleep. Although he had long been accustomed to resting on the hard bed, today he was a little upset and couldn't fall asleep despite tossing and turning in bed.
After forcing himself to close his eyes and lie down for a while but still not feeling sleepy, Aaron simply got dressed, opened the door and prepared to go for a walk outside to soothe his emotions.
Outside the guest room is a small courtyard, and flickering lights can be vaguely seen outside the courtyard wall. It seems that Paladin, who is responsible for night security, is patrolling the night.
In order to avoid causing trouble to others, Aaron did not leave the small courtyard. He just walked around the courtyard a few times, but still felt a little upset. Aaron wanted to talk to someone, so he walked to Vereesa's door. He raised his hand and was about to knock on the door, but retracted his hand. He turned around and walked under the moonlight, staring blankly at the two full moons in the sky.
In Azeroth, the larger of the two full moons is called White Lady, which is said to be the true form of Elune, and the smaller one is called Blue Child, which may be related to the light blue glow of this moon.
"What are you thinking about?" Just when Aaron was looking up at the night sky in a daze, someone tapped him on the shoulder. When he looked back, he saw Vereesa looking at him with concern.
Aaron smiled bitterly and said, "I just can't sleep, so I might as well go out for a walk."
Vereesa looked Aaron up and down and asked curiously, "You seem to have something on your mind? Do you want to talk to me?"
Aaron nodded and said, "I am thinking about something. If you don't mind my nagging, just listen to me."
"Here?" Vereesa looked at the small courtyard. There was no place for the two of them to sit for a while. He frowned, pointed to his room, and said, "Go to my room and talk."
Aaron hesitated. "Isn't this good?"
"What's wrong?" Vereesa looked at Aaron and blinked, as if he wanted to understand something. A blush appeared on his face, and he turned his head slightly and said, "I wanted to listen to you because I saw you couldn't sleep. If you don't want to talk, forget it."
After finishing speaking, Vereesa didn't care how Aaron responded and walked straight back to the room.
Aaron rolled his eyes and followed in.
Vereesa's room was the same as Aaron's. Vereesa sat on the bed and motioned Aaron to sit on the chair beside him, pretending to be listening. "Okay, tell me what's bothering you."
Aaron organized his thoughts and said, "I'm thinking whether I am right or wrong in refusing to join Silver Hand."
Vereesa raised his eyebrows. "You refused quite simply at the time, why now..."
Aaron said distressedly, "At that time, I didn't want to get involved in Silver Hand, but I was thinking just now that if I joined, maybe..."
"Maybe their fate will be different?" Vereesa showed a clear expression, looked at Aaron and said seriously, "Aaron, I don't know what kind of future you see, but I want to tell you that no matter what the future is, it shouldn't be something you worry about alone. You don't need to carry the future of this world on your shoulders."
Aaron subconsciously retorted, "I didn't..."
Vereesa interrupted Aaron and said, "You may not feel it yourself, but I can see your changes."
According to Vereesa, the changes in Aaron should have started after getting Truthguard. Before that, no matter what Aaron did, It was very casual, with a feeling of going with the flow, but after that, Aaron became in a hurry. This rush was not shown on the surface, but Aaron's whole person did undergo some changes.
"Is it so obvious?" Aaron scratched his head, Vereesa didn't say it, he really didn't notice it himself.
"It's not very obvious," Vereesa shook his head, "But your thoughts tonight may be brought about by this change."
"It's possible." Aaron said thoughtfully. If it were before, he wouldn't worry about what would happen to Silver Hand in the future. His thoughts would just be how to protect himself. But now he is starting to think about whether he can change Silver Hand's future. However, is this something he can change alone? It seems unlikely, at least he can't do it now.
Vereesa continued, "Although I don't know exactly what kind of future you have seen that makes you so stressed, I want to tell you, just do what you can, and don't take on responsibilities that you can't bear."
"It seems to make sense." Aaron glanced at Vereesa in surprise. He had never heard Vereesa say such philosophical words before.
"Ahem, it was my eldest sister who said that." Vereesa turned his head and said with a little embarrassment.
"Alleria? Isn't this an excuse that she came up with because she didn't want to be a ranger general?"
"Ahem, you are not allowed to say that about my eldest sister." Vereesa glared at Aaron. Seeing that Aaron's expression no longer seemed so troubled, a smile appeared on his face and he said, "Okay, you should go back."
"Oh? Do you want to go back?"
"Of course I want to go back, what are you thinking about?" Vereesa blushed again and pushed Aaron to the door of the house. Just as he opened the door and wanted to push Aaron out, his face suddenly changed and he pulled Aaron back.
Caught off guard, Aaron was almost dragged to the ground by Vereesa's sudden movement. After he stood up, he was about to say something, but saw that Vereesa's face was extremely serious, so he closed his mouth tightly and looked at Vereesa quietly.
After Vereesa lay on the door and listened carefully for a while, he straightened up, pointed to Aaron's room next door, and said softly, "Someone broke in."
"Is there a thief? Here?" Aaron showed an incredulous expression. This is the headquarters of Silver Hand. Not to mention how bold the thieves dare to come here to steal things. Even if there are really bold thieves, how can he bypass the Paladins who are watching the night and break in here?
"Is there anything important in your room?"
"Well, no, I put them all on Dreadwake." Aaron thought for a while. He didn't have any important items on him, and there was nothing in the room.
Vereesa looked at Aaron and asked, "Where are your shield and hammer?"
Only then did Aaron belatedly realize that he had taken off several artifacts from his body before going to bed. He just wanted to take them out for a spin and didn't put them on his body. Who would have thought that even Grand Monastery would be robbed?
"That guy hasn't left yet, let's stop him." Vereesa gently pushed open the door and walked quietly to Aaron's door. He placed several traps at the window. He raised Titans' Strike himself, aimed the arrow at the window, and signaled Aaron to step forward and open the door.
Aaron originally wanted to go in directly to catch the thief. Seeing that Vereesa was already prepared, he did not insist on his idea. He walked to the door according to Vereesa's instructions and slowly opened the door. In order to alarm the thief in the room, Aaron deliberately increased his strength and made a lot of noise.
"Who is it?!" After Aaron walked into the door, he immediately saw the thieves who had captured Truthguard and Silver Hand, and shouted, "Put it down!"
Hearing the sound, the man immediately turned around and wanted to escape. He ran straight towards the window, pushed open the window and jumped out of the window. What followed was the sound of the trap being activated.
Hearing the sound of the trap being triggered, Aaron turned around and walked out of the door, just in time to see the thief dodging Vereesa's arrows. His body was slightly shining with silver light. The trap he set out before seemed to have no impact on him at all.
