History
Foundation and Recognition
Ye Chen founded Kunlun after receiving the Number One Sect of the Heavens System and Immortal Emperor cultivation. Rather than reuse the name of a destroyed sect, he chose “Kunlun Holy Land,” received a system-generated mountain gate, and selected the Severed Dragon Mountain Range for its dense Spiritual Qi 1.
Mu Yan became its first and eldest disciple. His household initially treated the holy land’s name with respect, then mocked it after learning that it was newly established and had only one disciple 11. Its reputation changed when eyewitnesses confirmed that Ye Chen had killed seventeen Body Integration experts associated with three major sects in a single strike 28 29.
Established holy lands subsequently reconsidered their hostility. Once Ancestor Wuhen recognized that Kunlun had an Immortal Emperor presiding over it, discussions among three holy lands shifted from retaliation to friendship 75. Six Holy Lords later attended its recruitment opening to offer congratulations, undermining the confidence of the three sects that had arrived to attack it 120 121.
Recruitment and the Genius Battles
Kunlun opened broad recruitment once Ye Chen judged its facilities complete. Applicants gathered from across the Eastern Victorious Continent, including Chen Xuanbei, Ye Fan, and Han Li 116. Its cultivation environment also attracted lineage patriarchs willing to become odd-job workers merely to live inside 140 142.
Early doubts focused on its young disciples rather than its senior combat strength. During the Genius Battle, however, most of the selected menial, outer, and inner disciples remained competitive, while its personal disciples challenged established Holy Sons and Holy Maidens 158 165 177. Kunlun later hosted another Genius Battle on its own grounds 303.
Defense of the Desolate Immortal Great World
Kunlun’s Immortal Emperors systematically eliminated hidden collaborators of the Otherworldly Demons before the invasion 310. When the demon army arrived, Kunlun intercepted it with overwhelming Immortal King and Immortal Emperor forces. Ling Kong rejected the upper-realm envoy’s demand to search the world and declared that the invaders would be destroyed 349.
The invasion ended in Kunlun’s victory, with Ye Chen personally overcoming the enemy’s leading powerhouse. Pilgrims subsequently flocked to the area, and Kunlun Giant City expanded into the greatest city in Desolate Immortal 352 355.
Campaigns Across the Great Worlds
Ye Chen incorporated holy lands in the Origin Immortal Great World as subordinate forces and designated Kunlun as the superior “sacred sect” 220. Establishing branches became a tradition for disciples traveling to new worlds: outstanding disciples secured a site, while elders and seniors later assumed its management 690 719.
In the Lingxu Great World, conflict escalated after the Lingxu Dao Sect bullied Kunlun disciples. Mo Ba rejected its proposed concessions and ordered an attack 697. Kunlun defeated the sect, remodeled its headquarters, and removed its restrictive system for approving new sects 699.
The Jianmu Divine Tree also attracted a coalition led by the Purple Lightning Heavenly Emperor. Ye Chen moved the ensuing battle into an independent world to prevent the Desolate Immortal Great World from being destroyed by the combatants’ shock waves. Kunlun overwhelmingly defeated the attackers 731 740.
Ascension and the Void Kun Realm
Ye Chen reopened the Immortal Gate and brought the entire sect into the Heavenly Divine Realm. Kunlun settled in the Void Kun Realm, while the restored route allowed other lower-realm cultivators to ascend as well 753 767.
Subduing Dragon Mountain and Beyond Heaven Mountain Villa attempted to plunder the newly arrived sect. Their formations failed to breach its defenses, and Ye Chen killed the attackers 756 758 760. Kunlun nevertheless faced widespread hostility during the Void Kun Genius Battle, where rival leaders mistook Ling Kong’s comparatively low cultivation for a deliberate insult and accused Kunlun’s disciples of relying on tricks 770 771 802 822.
War with the Mystic Heaven Spirit Sect
God Emperor Xuan Fu demanded Kunlun’s cooperation on behalf of the Mystic Heaven Spirit Sect, later revealing that his sect was acting under the Formless Divine Kingdom’s orders. Ling Kong refused to submit, and Ye Chen intervened 883 884.
The Mystic Heaven Spirit Sect subsequently sent ten warships to attack Kunlun during a banquet 938. Many visiting leaders abandoned Kunlun and sided with the attackers; the Master of the Blood Jade Palace and a small number of others remained 944 970 976.
Ye Chen contained the enemy within the Immortal Bell’s spaces, where Kunlun members fought successive battles. The sect won without a single death, a result its members explicitly credited to Ye Chen’s support and control of the battlefield 979 990. Kunlun later destroyed the Mystic Heaven Spirit Sect’s remaining power and rebuilt its former grounds as a branch 1033 1034.
Saint Emperor-Level Foundations
The Formless Divine Kingdom’s intervention did not end in Kunlun’s destruction. Ye Chen killed the Abyss-Suppressing Great General, then received the Formless Saint Emperor without the anticipated battle between them 1023 1024.
Kunlun later held its first internal tournament since ascending, offering the top ten disciples personal guidance and sparring with direct disciples 1529. Eventually, all thirteen personal disciples became Hundun Saint Emperors, giving the sect senior combatants capable of independently guarding regions and confronting powerful enemies 1580.
