Chapter 9

Liu Dajun fell silent once again.

But the people around him grew anxious. By now, the five terrifying beasts had landed on Blue Star.

The dust stirred up by their landing alone raised a massive sandstorm across the ground.

As for the tremors, they were no less than a terrifying magnitude-ten earthquake. Cracks began appearing in dozens of fortresses.

These fortresses had been built through a combined effort, bringing together the fruits of nine hundred years of their entire civilization.

Their entire civilization had built only eighty-one of them, intended to protect against the world-ending flood a hundred years in the future.

But now, problems like this had arisen before the world-ending flood even arrived. How could they accept it?

Inside the Ultra Empire's highest laboratory, alarms rang incessantly, while calls for help poured in from everywhere.

Ultra V gritted his teeth and gave the order. "Activate the Giants of Light. Stop those things first. Don't let them damage the fortresses!

"If you can destroy them, destroy them outright!"

Hearing this, Liu Dajun opened his mouth to say something, but ultimately closed it again.

Wasn't it perfectly normal for Ultramen to fight monsters?

What else could he possibly say now?

Naturally, his actions did not escape the others' notice. After giving his orders, Ultra V turned to Liu Dajun again. "Speak. Tell me everything you know, right now!"

Ultraman Tiga had already been deployed, and things had already happened. Liu Dajun now knew that keeping silent would serve no purpose.

He could only explain, "I recognize them because these creatures have a common name: monsters. I don't recognize them because each kind of monster comes from a different galaxy, a different civilization, and a different race, and has a different name. I don't recognize any of these particular monsters."

Everyone frowned at his words. Only Zoffy was the first to seize on the key issue. "How do you know all this?"

"My civilization has material introducing these things."

Everyone exclaimed, "Your civilization has monsters like these too?"

Liu Dajun shook his head. "No. In our world, these monsters only exist in stories. And these monsters all share one enemy: the Giant of Light, Ultraman Tiga!"

In an instant, a deathly silence fell over the room. At that moment, even their hearts stopped beating, and the information streams that constantly flowed through their third eyes froze.

[Bam!]

Original Ultraman punched Liu Dajun hard in the face, sending him flying.

"You fucking bastard!"

Shouting, Original Ultraman tried to step forward and kick him a few more times, but Zoffy and the others held him back.

Ultra V said, "Tell me, did you do this on purpose? What exactly were you trying to accomplish? Speak! Hurry up and tell us everything you know!"

Knocked to the ground, Liu Dajun's face was filled with regret. "I didn't do it on purpose. I really didn't! You can link to my brain. I guarantee I really didn't do it on purpose.

"In our world, these monsters are just characters in stories. Even Ultramen are. Earlier, when you said you wanted to create a Giant of Light, King Ultra, I thought of this character who was very popular in my world.

"I didn't know these monsters actually existed!"

Liu Dajun sobbed as he spoke, slapping his own face hard. He truly did not know why things had turned out this way.

By now, Ultra V and the others had all connected to Liu Dajun's brain and confirmed that everything he said was true.

They all understood now. This really was just a misunderstanding!

But at such a critical juncture, who could forgive him for a misunderstanding like this, even if it had been an unintentional mistake?

After learning all the facts, Original Ultraman clenched his fists until they creaked. He badly wanted to punch Liu Dajun in the face again, but ultimately turned away with a cold snort and left.

Zoffy looked at Liu Dajun and let out a heavy sigh. Without saying anything, he too turned and left.

Ultra V stepped forward and helped Liu Dajun up. He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but ultimately said nothing.

Liu Dajun stood there alone in a daze. At that moment, he felt as though the entire world had played an enormous joke on him.

It had destroyed his life, his world, his everything, all in that moment.

Outside, the battle was fierce. As the first generation and the strongest Ultraman Tiga, Glitter Tiga went straight for the largest creature, the dragonfly demon dragon.

Dark Tiga faced a terrifying worm over three thousand meters long, covered in a hard carapace.

The remaining three faced three giant ant beasts roughly their own size.

One-on-one might have seemed fair, but in truth, it was not fair at all.

That held true for both the terrifyingly huge dragonfly demon dragon and the giant ant beasts that appeared roughly their own size.

Not only was this their home, which kept them from fighting freely, but these Ultraman Tigas had never been intended for combat in the first place.

Although they had entertained the terrifying idea of using the Giant of Light to capture a god when first building Glitter Tiga's original form, the Giant of Light, they had completely abandoned it after seeing a single arm of the god.

Thus, apart from Glitter Tiga, none of the other Ultraman Tigas were equipped with combat systems, even though they possessed astonishing speed, terrifying strength, and unparalleled defense.

But none of those things were intended for combat. Their speed was meant to let them reach their destinations faster and protect the fortresses from harm.

Their strength was meant to deal with certain situations when accidents occurred, but that only meant things like collapsing mountains, falling boulders, or moving fortresses when necessary.

Their defense had an even simpler purpose. They had to ensure that the Ultraman Tigas would not fall apart under the impact of the world-ending flood.

So, apart from catching the monsters off guard when they first entered the battlefield, the Ultramen spent virtually all their time being beaten back.

Even though this was their home, even though there were countless energy sources here, it made no difference.

They simply could not win!

Only moments after the battle began, all the Ultramen were already being overwhelmed by the monsters, especially Glitter Tiga, who faced the dragonfly demon dragon.

Although he had a combat system, his attributes were actually not much different from the other Ultramen's. Against a terrifying monster more than ten times his size, he had no ability to fight back whatsoever.

And his opponent could fly. Most importantly, it was also extremely agile!

The same was true for Dark Tiga, who faced the terrifying worm.

His capabilities had originally been the same as those of the other three, and he did not even have a combat system, yet he faced an enormous monster three times his size.

Ultra V and the others looked grim as they watched the footage coming back through the surveillance feeds.

At that point, Liu Dajun finally emerged from his dejection and came over to the monitors. Seeing the situation on-screen, he felt even more regret.

After a moment, however, he spoke. "Actually, when I was designing this Ultraman Tiga, I put a cockpit inside for fun. Although these Ultramen don't have combat systems, if we put a warrior with strong combat skills inside, perhaps it could... could work too..."

Original Ultraman turned to Liu Dajun. "How do we pilot them?"

Liu Dajun quickly entered a string of commands on the biological computer before him, then said, "Select an Ultraman now and transfer your consciousness directly into him. That's all you need to do."

Without the slightest hesitation, Original Ultraman transferred his consciousness straight into Glitter Tiga. In that brief span of time, Glitter Tiga had already nearly been torn apart by the largest monster.

As the strongest warrior in the empire, he believed that no one but him was qualified to control Glitter Tiga.

Beside him, Zoffy also transferred his consciousness directly into Dark Tiga without the slightest hesitation.

For the remaining three ordinary Ultraman Tigas, Ultra V called over three guards. Then, a battle between Ultramen and little monsters began.

Su Mo lay in bed, watching with relish. This transmigrator really knows how to stir things up. Hasn't the whole Ultramen-fighting-little-monsters plot started now?

If I'd known it would be this entertaining, why would I have bothered scrolling through pretty girls? Looks like tossing in a couple of transmigrators next time might be fun too.
