Arc 9The Demonic Tide

Ace built a magical fleet, reunited with Romon and Marina, and brought his family and manor’s people to safety. Back in High Tower Territory, he and its defenders survived a Demonic Tide before the story moved ahead a year, with Polina awakening and contracting a Stone Golem as Ace began a new experiment.

  • Ace equipped the territory with rifled muskets and cannons, organized a trained battalion, and developed new life and wood-animation magic while the harbor and shipyard were built.
  • Ace and eleven apprentices awakened the magical ship Knowledge Seeker, which could create wooden lifeforms, and he sailed south with the fleet.
  • Ace rescued Romon and Marina from the political struggle at his manor, killed Dean Media, and traveled to Medimuss Royal City to bring Daina’s family and Bayern’s grandson to safety.
  • Ace sent Daina and Borg to investigate Tsimari while the rest of the fleet returned to High Tower Territory, where the Mirror clone prepared defenses against the Demonic Tide.
  • Ace and the territory’s forces defended Nightglow City from waves of Demonic Beasts with muskets, cannons, wizard magic, and a protective array, while the Rational Mirror Clone helped kill a powerful beast.

Arc 10The Invisible Assimilation Curse

Ace reached the Hero level, reorganized the Magic Council, and restarted the magic network while developing a new path for his research. An attack in the Northern Mining Area killed Bent, but Ace captured an intruder and Caroso and Polina identified the curse transforming the Strange Demonic Beasts.

  • Ace’s summoning ritual exposed him to a Divine Noble’s morning-light authority, so he added an interrupt array and later brought a Shadow Crow from a Reflection World into the West Tower.
  • Eddy encountered Spells and became absorbed in Polina’s work on animated golems, while Caro retired from the militia and later achieved Mental Overclocking.
  • Ace connected the apprentices’ Spiritual Marks through a consciousness network, reached Heroic level, and then used a crystalline being’s food-for-blessing exchange to restore his body and advance it to the Hero level.
  • Ace studied the being’s knowledge about supernatural advancement, while Bayern found that Divine Noble descendants could use Magic and helped Ace establish the Kindling Plan through the Magic Council.
  • Ace rebuilt Gensokyo and restarted the magic network as Ancesta led Eddy and other apprentices to clear Strange Demonic Beasts from the Northern Mining Area.
  • Three masked members of Touch of Suffering infiltrated Mining Town, killed a family, and fought Bent, who died after killing two attackers and passing vital intelligence to Ancesta.
  • Ancesta captured the surviving attacker, and Ace discovered that Bent’s consciousness remained trapped inside the Mask of Suffering as the captive’s Magic began to revive.
  • Ace learned that Touch of Suffering sought Strange Demonic Beasts for sacrifices, while Caroso and Polina identified and tested the beasts’ transformation curse, naming it the Invisible Assimilation Curse.
