Background / History
Guang Ling is a member of the Guang Ling Divine Bow lineage and Guang Yu’s only surviving blood relative. Guang Yu’s grandfather was Guang Ling’s elder brother, making Guang Ling his granduncle. 1
When Guang Yu awakened the Ice Bow and Light Sword as Twin Martial Souls, Guang Ling rushed to the Awakening Hall alongside the other Worship Elders. He reacted with joy when the unusual awakening appeared to offer Guang Yu a way around the hereditary backlash of their bow lineage. 3
Guang Ling’s concern became fury when Guang Yu suffered Martial Soul Backfire and Bibi Dong mocked the situation. He fired an explosive arrow that wounded her, escalating the conflict between Bibi Dong and the Worship Hall. 3
He accompanied Guang Yu to Sunset Forest after accepting his grandnephew’s proposed cure. The two entered the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well together; its medicinal effects erased Guang Ling’s lifelong backlash, healed his frost damage, and granted immunity to poison, ice, and fire. 6 9
Appearance
Guang Ling has an unusually youthful, harmless-looking appearance for a Titled Douluo, leading Dugu Bo to dismiss him as an inexperienced young man before learning his identity. 7
- Manifests a massive ice bow when releasing his Martial Soul. 7
- Can form translucent Ice Wings for aerial movement. 6
- His youthful appearance contrasts sharply with his Rank 98–99 cultivation and battlefield experience. 7 158 219
Personality
Guang Ling is openly affectionate and fiercely protective toward Guang Yu. He acts rashly when his grandnephew is insulted or endangered, from attacking Bibi Dong after her mockery to placing himself between Guang Yu and the Snow Empress. 3 90
During travel and daily life, he is playful and unreliable enough that Guang Yu often takes the more responsible role. When danger appears, however, he becomes focused and dependable, as shown in his confrontation with Dugu Bo and his defense of Guang Yu during the Far North crisis. 6 7 90
As a teacher, Guang Ling is proud of Guang Yu’s talent but does not soften important training. During the Ice God’s Fifth Trial, he set aside their familial bond and fought Guang Yu at full seriousness so that the victory would be genuine. 19 168 169
Abilities & Skills
Light Feather Divine Bow
Guang Ling’s Martial Soul is the Light Feather Divine Bow, a bow-type Martial Soul with ice and light attributes. As a long-range Soul Master, he specializes in overwhelming enemies with high-speed, highly accurate ice arrows. 1 7
- Possesses nine soul rings as a Titled Douluo. 7
- Condenses and fires ice arrows capable of breaking through enemy defenses and suppressing other Titled Douluo. 7
- Used an explosive arrow to wound Bibi Dong during the Awakening Hall confrontation. 3
- Uses High Explosive Penetration Shot as his Fourth Soul Skill. 133 182
- Uses Aurora Arrow Rain to destroy groups of summoned poisonous spiders. 182
Ice Wings

- Supports flight over hazardous terrain, including Poison Fog Forest. 6
- Complements his role as a long-range attacker. 6
Mind’s Eye
The bow lineage possesses exceptional Spiritual Power. As cultivation rises, its users can awaken Mind’s Eye, which Guang Ling uses to lock onto targets and guide arrows with extreme precision. 19
- Detects enemies within the range of his Spiritual Power. 19
- Establishes a connection with an enemy’s heart and Martial Soul for accurate targeting. 19
- Enables his renowned ability to strike targets from roughly a thousand meters away. 19
Archery Training
Guang Ling developed and taught Guang Yu three foundational archery exercises designed for actual combat rather than simple target practice. 19
- Blindfolded Sound Location Shooting — fires at randomly appearing targets by using sound alone. 19
- Force Control — requires arrows to penetrate an exact number of ice walls without damaging the next one. 19
- Interference Moving Target Rapid Fire — trains rapid shooting against moving targets under interference. 19
Soul Bone Enhancement
Guang Ling’s soul bones greatly reinforced his body and mitigated the normal weaknesses of a bow-type Soul Master. He was later described as possessing multiple Hundred Thousand Year soul bones. 133 138 158
- Used the Titan Sky Break soul bone skill to suppress Bibi Dong in close combat. 149
- Defeated Sea Dragon with a single soul-bone-enhanced punch. 133
- Possesses the Titan Giant Ape Left Arm Bone, the Demon Soul Great White Shark soul bone, and the Evil Orca King soul bone among his high-level soul bone collection. 123 138 158
- Still considers close-quarters combat a relative weakness compared with archery; Guang Yu exploited this during their Ice God trial duel. 132 169
Divine Succession
The Arrow God deemed Guang Ling exceptionally compatible with the Arrow God Position because of his bow-type Martial Soul, strengthened physique, and Spiritual Power. 158
- Received the Arrow God’s mark and the right to begin the Arrow God’s Nine Trials upon reaching Rank 99. 158
- Ultimately inherited the Second-level Arrow God Position. 219
