Background / History

Guang Yu entered Douluo Continent as a transmigrator and already understood the world’s power system before his Martial Soul awakening. He hoped for at least level 8 Innate Soul Power and planned to use Spirit Hall’s backing and his knowledge of the setting to become a top-tier powerhouse 1.

His awakening did not produce the expected Light Feather Divine Bow. Instead, he split its attributes into two separate Martial Souls: the Ice Divine Bow and the Light God Sword. The awakening triggered a violent Extreme Ice outbreak, freezing the hall and causing Martial Soul Backfire that threatened his life 2 3 5.

Qian Daoliu identified his attributes as Ultimate Light and Extreme Ice, naming the martial souls Light God Sword and Ice Divine Bow. Because the Ice Divine Bow was too difficult to control, Guang Yu initially cultivated the Light God Sword to suppress the backlash 5.

Guang Yu and Guang Ling later went to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, where Immortal Herbs removed their ice-fire erosion problems. Guang Yu gained poison immunity, resistance to ice and fire, six soul-power ranks, and the ability to finally draw the Ice Divine Bow 9.

His rise in Spirit Hall quickly made him a target for Bibi Dong’s hostility and a rival to Hu Liena, Xie Yue, and Yan. He crushed Hu Liena in a challenge, then defeated Xie Yue and Yan while revealing the Light God Sword’s Ultimate Light and the Ice Divine Bow’s Extreme Ice 15 17.

In the Far North, the Three Great Heavenly Kings captured Guang Yu and brought him to the Ice God Palace. The Ice God selected him as inheritor because of his talent and Extreme Ice attribute, giving him the Ice God mark and later the Ice God Nine Trials 90 93 124.

As Holy Son and later Emperor of the Martial Soul Empire, Guang Yu used overwhelming personal strength to subdue sects, destroy city defenses, and turn major battles in the empire’s favor.
