History
Early Spirit Hall
Spirit Hall's headquarters was the Pope's Palace in Spirit City, home to the Pope, Worship Elders, Titled Elders, high-ranking officials, and powerful Soul Masters. It adopted orphans with cultivation potential and conducted annual Martial Soul awakening ceremonies for them. 2
Its stated responsibilities included maintaining public order, regulating Soul Masters, eliminating Evil Soul Masters, punishing criminals, and protecting commoners. Its influence extended through branch halls across the continent, but corruption within some local branches remained a recognized problem. 35
Spirit Hall also controlled Death Canyon as a specialized training ground. It installed checkpoints and mechanisms there to train its own Soul Masters and restricted entry through guarded access points. 32 57
During Guang Yu and Qian Renxue's journey toward Suotuo City, they acted against both external criminals and internal corruption: they killed criminal Soul Masters, dealt with soul beast incursions, overthrew oppressive nobles and officials, and publicly executed the master of a corrupt Spirit Hall Sub Hall. 47
Spirit Hall Empire
After the Seven Great Sects were reselected, Spirit Hall established the Spirit Hall Empire. Its flag displayed an angel flanked by a sword and bow, representing Qian Renxue's Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul and Guang Yu's two Martial Souls. 162
The empire prepared to invade the Heaven Dou and Star Luo Empires, presenting its campaign as the unification of Douluo Continent. 162 In a later era, the Spirit Hall Empire had become powerful enough to overwhelm the Sun Moon Empire with more than 300 Titled Douluo. 259
After Spirit Hall's destruction, the absence of a continent-spanning Soul Master authority contributed to worsening public security, rivalry among the Four Great Empires, and the emergence of Evil Soul Master organizations. 279
Re-founding as Soul Hall
Guang Yu and Qian Renxue considered rebuilding Spirit Hall after witnessing the disorder of the Peerless Tang Sect era. They recognized that using the old name immediately would provoke opposition from Shrek Academy, the Clear Sky Sect, major Soul Master factions, and the Four Great Empires. 280
They first gathered followers and established a faction under the temporary name Soul Hall. Their initial plan was to secure a headquarters and win the next Soul Master Tournament to build public recognition. 287
Soul Hall established a temporary headquarters on a mountain near Spirit Sword City in the Dou Ling Empire. After Guang Yu defeated Wu Ao Jian, the Arrogant Sword Sect joined, increasing the new faction from a few dozen members to nearly a thousand. 289 291
The organization subsequently absorbed the Heavenly Armor Sect and Dragon Slaying Sect, gained the Dou Ling Empire's support, and received permission to establish branch halls across half of the empire's territory. 291
Restoration of the Spirit Hall Name
Soul Hall won the Soul Master Tournament, ending Shrek Academy's championship streak. Guang Yu then announced that “Soul Hall” had only been a temporary name and formally restored the name Spirit Hall. 302
Guang Yu publicly defended the historic Spirit Hall against accusations of evil, emphasizing its free Martial Soul awakenings, subsidies for Soul Masters, support for commoners, and past role in suppressing widespread Soul Master crime. 303
The restored name attracted opposition as well as recruits. Its tournament victory and Guang Yu's public speech caused its reputation to spread throughout the continent, drawing Soul Masters who sought its training and protection. 306
Continental Consolidation
Spirit Hall strengthened its headquarters with Soul Tools and Fixed Soul Cannonballs before repelling an assault by the Holy Spirit Cult and Sun Moon Empire. 307
It later allied with Di Tian and the Seven Great Ferocious Beasts. Spirit Hall agreed to make the protection of soul beasts from excessive human hunting a long-term mission once its influence covered the continent. 316
After attacking Shrek Academy and reclaiming its former territory, Spirit Hall gained the Golden Ancient Tree, which was regarded as a foundation for the organization's long-term stability. 320 323
Within three years, Spirit Hall established branch halls, academies, and holy temples throughout the Four Great Empires. It purged Evil Soul Masters, criminal Soul Masters, corrupt officials, and hostile forces while assuming responsibility for restricting unnecessary soul beast hunting. 331
Succession
With Spirit Hall established as the continent's dominant Soul Master force, Guang Yu and Qian Renxue relinquished their positions before departing for the God Realm. 332 343
Ye Guyi became the new Pope due to her Divine Angel Martial Soul and inheritance of Qian Renxue's teachings. Ji Juechen, Guang Yu's direct disciple, became the new Great Enshrined. 332
