Personality

Fang Pingyue is exuberant, outspoken, and openly affectionate. A self-described lifelong fan of Qu Nanzhu, she becomes so excited at their first meeting that he places a Heart-Calming Talisman on her forehead. Discovering that her idol is dating her cousin prompts her to proclaim herself “the most successful fan in the whole world” 31 78.

Despite her wealthy background, she strongly objects to class prejudice. Huo Qinglong taught her to judge people by character rather than family background, using Bai Miaochen’s contempt for Fang Moshan’s humble origins as a warning. When Bai Miuting’s companions mock her and Qu Nanzhu as country bumpkins, Pingyue challenges their disrespect toward rural people and the working class 79.

She is quick-tempered but capable of choosing her response deliberately. During the same confrontation, she removes Qu Nanzhu’s calming talisman after deciding that remaining calm would leave her angrier afterward. Rather than attacking the group, she calls her father and secures an apology 79.

Her theatrical behavior continues into adulthood. She tries to sneak food delivery past Qin Hei despite having a mouth blister, and initially comforts their daughter over his punishment before abruptly joining him in scolding her 132 141.

Meeting Qu Nanzhu

Pingyue first meets Qu Nanzhu at breakfast in the Huo residence, where she discovers that the guest receiving her cousin’s special attention is her favorite streamer. Her intense excitement leads Qu Nanzhu to calm her with a talisman 31.

She receives his WeChat contact after agreeing to three rules imposed by Huo Sili:

• Do not bother Qu Nanzhu excessively.
• Do not disclose his private contact information.
• Do not announce online that she knows him 32.

When Qu Nanzhu later visits, she eagerly questions him about Su Yuanshen. His face-reading points to womanizing, deceit, and possible drug use. Although desperate to share the gossip, she remembers her promise not to reveal their acquaintance 35.

Fortune-Related Trouble

Pingyue and Fang Moshan suffer bad luck while Huo Sili’s fortune is being stolen. Qu Nanzhu explains that a defensive mechanism replenishes Huo Sili’s losses by drawing fortune from those around him 75.

Shopping Dispute with Bai Miuting

After discovering that Qu Nanzhu and Huo Sili are together, Pingyue accompanies Qu Nanzhu shopping for furnishings and family gifts. She insists on paying their 130,000 bill at a furniture store, where they purchase a sofa, cushions, and plush toys 78.

At a luxury clothing store, Bai Miuting uses her VIP purchasing rights to claim a blue dress Pingyue intended to buy for her mother. Pingyue initially accepts the store’s rule, but confronts the group when they continue mocking her and Qu Nanzhu. After identifying Bai Miuting’s father, she calls Fang Moshan, who promises an in-person apology the following morning 79.

When the Bai family arrives, Pingyue tells Bai Miuting that her real fault is failing to respect others. She does not explicitly grant forgiveness, instead stating that the apology has allowed her to vent her anger and having Butler Si escort them out 81.

The S University Visit

Pingyue invites Qu Nanzhu to visit S University before her afternoon classes. Students recognize him, and her use of “sister-in-law” draws attention to his relationship with a wealthy man. A crowd forms, and police escort the pair away 82.

She fears Huo Sili will punish her for exposing the connection. Instead, he says she must handle any resulting attention at school herself. Qu Nanzhu gives her a concealment talisman to help 83.

Once their connection is public, her earlier restraint disappears: she makes more than a dozen social-media posts in one night announcing that Qu Nanzhu is her sister-in-law. Several friends block her on multiple apps 101.

Romance with Qin Hei

Pingyue first takes an interest in Qin Hei while secretly watching him from the stairs at the Huo residence. Qu Nanzhu notices her attraction and identifies Qin Hei as her destined partner, judging him honest, loyal, responsible, and likely to cherish his wife 103.

During the seaside trip, Qu Nanzhu sees a newly tied red thread on Pingyue’s hand. She later asks him to meet Qin Hei and his father so they can thank him, becoming intensely embarrassed when Qu Nanzhu calls Qin Hei her boyfriend 117 118.

After Qu Nanzhu spots the couple on a date, Huo Sili informs her parents and emphasizes that she should tell her family whenever she goes out with someone. He also reveals that Pingyue plans to propose to Qin Hei after turning twenty-two the following year 125.

Marriage and Motherhood

In the extras, Pingyue and Qin Hei have a daughter, Qin Yutao. When Yutao is punished for going out at night without telling an adult, Pingyue initially protests that Qin Hei is being too harsh. She then changes sides and warns her daughter about the danger, admitting that her own parents scolded her for sneaking out on dates with Qin Hei 140 141.
