Huo Sili was precocious and preferred reading to playing with other children. When another child threw his book into water, he pushed the child in and demanded that he retrieve it. A servant immediately rescued the child, and Si Yunxiang took Huo Sili to apologize. Other families subsequently stopped allowing their children to associate with him 31.

He spent his elementary-school years largely alone, went abroad for high school, and returned after university to take over the family company. His responsibilities began almost immediately after his return. An attempt to attend a peer's birthday party ended with him drinking alone because the other guests were too intimidated to approach him; afterward, he stopped accepting such invitations 31.

His reserve and position make other people hesitant to approach him, contributing to his lack of close friends before meeting Qu Nanzhu. Despite rumors that he is difficult and unfeeling, Qu Nanzhu's friends discover that he laughs at bad jokes, socializes comfortably, and treats Chen Xun more like a friend than merely an assistant 31 59 69 121.

With Qu Nanzhu, he is affectionate, teasing, and attentive to everyday needs. He arranges meals and desserts, helps tie his hair, and supports his decision to rest rather than livestream after exhausting himself. Although he recognizes his love during Qu Nanzhu's hospitalization, he initially keeps silent because he fears that confessing will drive Qu Nanzhu away 30 31 69 74.

His protectiveness extends to family and employees. He worries about Fang Pingyue's romantic prospects and uses the Huo Group's business leverage to stop Li Yuanzheng from harassing Assistant Hao. Rescue and Growing Friendship

Qu Nanzhu rescues Huo Sili from a wrecked vehicle during a major traffic accident. Huo Sili witnesses the ghosts assisting the rescue and only pretends to remain calm. While hospitalized, he watches Qu Nanzhu's livestream and repeatedly sends gifts, later trying to identify himself through private messages 4 6 9.

Their acquaintance develops through visits, meals, and shared outings. Huo Sili grants access to Spirit Lake and introduces Qu Nanzhu to his family. When Qu Nanzhu collapses after establishing the Soul-Nourishing Array, Huo Sili tries to catch him despite his own injuries, falls beside him, and stays with him until they are found 20 30 31 39.

Hospital Vigil and Romantic Realization

After hearing that Qu Nanzhu has gone missing during the supernatural crisis, Huo Sili flies from G City to see him. He remains beside his hospital bed overnight and realizes that his feelings are romantic rather than friendship or admiration. He continues caring for Qu Nanzhu during recovery and helps arrange his departure from the hospital 55 57.

The Campaign Against the Huo Family

The theft of Huo Sili's documents, the Cheng family curse, and incidents involving his relatives lead Qu Nanzhu to suspect a coordinated attack. Huo Sili sends Ling Qiao to investigate, but Bai Miaochen lures her into a formation intended to destroy her ghost body 61 69 74.

After another accident leaves Chen Xun seriously injured, Qu Nanzhu discovers that someone is stealing Huo Sili's luck. He breaks the formation behind the scheme, and Huo Sili calls the police before they confront the culprit. Ji Pofu reveals that resentment of Huo Sili's wealth motivated him; the Investigation Bureau takes over the wider investigation 73 74 76 77.

Becoming Qu Nanzhu's Partner

While examining Huo Sili's fading luck, Qu Nanzhu notices the red thread linking them and asks directly about his feelings. Huo Sili admits when he recognized his love and asks Qu Nanzhu to be his boyfriend. Qu Nanzhu accepts, and Huo Sili tells his mother that night 74 75.

Qu Nanzhu subsequently moves into the Huo household and shares his room. Their relationship becomes public, including a livestream appearance in which Huo Sili kisses Qu Nanzhu's forehead in response to viewers asking to see his “husband” 77 83.

Shared Future

Huo Sili accepts Qu Nanzhu's account of his otherworldly origins and is deeply shaken to learn that he refined himself into six divine artifacts to protect humanity. Later, despite having little personal interest in Daoist arts, he agrees to cultivate so that he can remain with Qu Nanzhu longer 98 113.

For Qu Nanzhu and Longbao's nineteenth birthday, he makes longevity locks from silver gathered from a hundred households. He also presents Qu Nanzhu with rings, emphasizing mutual belonging without diminishing Qu Nanzhu's individuality. Qu Nanzhu explains that exchanging heart-link locks signifies becoming Dao companions in his original world 130.

In the later extras, Huo Sili remains beside Qu Nanzhu as Longbao finds love and becomes engaged to Fang Yi, comforting his partner as he reflects on raising his younger brother 139 146.
