Yan Junye diligently gathered information in the courtyard. Otherwise, Chang Yu's chastity would be at risk.
He sat on his haunches, keeping his rear covered. "Have you heard of a celebrity called Ni Lejia?"
Then he pointed a paw toward Ni Lejia. "The one with the dyed red hair."
"I've seen him on TV. Why?" On his own turf, the husky's unruly air made it even harder for other dogs to look away.
His owner was hosting a grand banquet today, and there was no way he would let any unrest break out at the venue.
"If there's a problem, settle it in private. Don't make a scene today."
Yan Junye was incredibly quick on his feet. Besides, fooling a husky was a piece of cake.
"I'm so well-behaved. Of course I wouldn't cause trouble."
"Ni Lejia's the one who's going to cause trouble. You'd better keep an eye on him, or when your owner goes bankrupt, you'll be the first thing he gives up."
Knowing he wasn't as precious as a cat, the husky dashed into the venue, fixing Ni Lejia with two blue eyes that radiated authority without anger.
If Ni Lejia dared pull anything tonight, he would tear him apart on the spot.
Okay, the matter of finding Chang Yu a bodyguard was perfectly settled.
Yan Junye turned around and decided to ask the genuinely clever border collie, "Got any tea on Ni Lejia?"
"Funny you should ask. I actually have seen him before," the border collie said.
"My owner's work involves the entertainment industry. Once, a bunch of big shots got drunk at our place, and Ni Lejia was one of the people who came to pick someone up."
The border collie lowered his voice. "The person he picked up was the owner of that schnauzer over there."
Yan Junye looked over. The schnauzer had a haystack-like beard on his face, and his two black eyes were almost hidden by fur. Clearly, his owner hadn't taken him to the groomer in time.
He walked over and sat down, asking amiably, "What's the relationship between your owner and Ni Lejia?"
Schnauzers were sociable by nature, and the golden retriever's question didn't strike him as provocative. "Ni Lejia was with my owner for a while, but he seems to change partners often."
Yan Junye nodded to show he understood.
So whoever could help him climb higher or solve his problems was who he would seduce. The relationship didn't matter.
"Then what does he do if he can't seduce someone?"
The schnauzer had been with his owner for years, and his owner had long frequented these places. "From what I've seen, there's no one he can't seduce."
Was he that good?
The schnauzer said, "Ni Lejia goes to hotels with different people practically every day."
Just hearing it, Yan Junye thought that was far too frequent. His tail tightened, and he asked sincerely, "Doesn't his ass hurt?"
What decent person went looking for someone to take to a hotel every day?
Judging by that, he must have latched onto several powerful backers already.
If each of them lent a hand, why would Ni Lejia still need to come begging Chang Yu?
"I bet he's used some shady tricks."
"Very likely." The border collie came over. "The husky just said he thought he saw Ni Lejia put something in the wine."
Yan Junye figured it was most likely an aphrodisiac.
He couldn't spare any more time questioning them outside and rushed into the venue to find Chang Yu. He absolutely couldn't let him drink it!
Chang Yu hadn't intended to drink, but groups of people kept coming over to clink glasses with him, deliberately or otherwise showing a desire to curry favor.
However young and accomplished he was, he was still their junior. There was no reason to refuse a toast from his elders.
He was raising his glass with a group of big shots, chatting with a smile, when a golden retriever charged out of nowhere and pounced on him, making him stagger.
This unfilial son really was rebelling.
He steadied himself, but failed to keep hold of his glass, and shards scattered across the floor.
It wasn't just his glass. Xiaotu was big, and when the dog launched himself at him, he took out the glasses of the people beside him too.
He had barely regained his footing when a husky charged over as well. No matter how Xi Wu shouted, he couldn't stop the husky, who was more stubborn than an ox.
Everyone scattered to avoid the husky's attack. With Xiaotu still in his arms blocking his view, Chang Yu couldn't dodge in time and made intimate contact with the floor.
Xiaotu, on the other hand, made intimate contact with his body, his muzzle landing right against his face.
Yan Junye raised his canine head in disbelief. Oh my god, did I really kiss Chang Yu?
-It's over. Now even my mouth has lost its innocence! Aaaah!
He could only comfort himself.
-At least Chang Yu isn't ugly. Giving him my first kiss is just letting this man who's always had his eye on me get lucky.
Chang Yu had no desire to get lucky this way.
He patted Xiaotu, who was lying on top of him with no intention of getting up. "If you've taken enough advantage of me, get up."
"Woof, woof, woof!"
[You're clearly the one taking advantage of me! How did it become me taking advantage of you?!]
The two got up amid their bickering, and Xi Wu immediately ran over to clean up the mess.
He first gave the husky a beating, then, having demonstrated his sincerity, sincerely apologized to Chang Yu.
"My unfilial son is unruly by nature. I'll be sure to teach him a proper lesson when we get home. Are you all right, Mr. Chang?"
"No." Chang Yu looked at Xi Wu's wife, who was approaching from the side. His tone was as calm as ever, but Yan Junye could tell from his flat mouth that he was still holding a grudge.
"You might not know this, but Xi Wu was there the last time we went to Ke Yichun's bar."
Xi Wu: "!!!" What was going on? Why was he suddenly bringing up his trip to the bar?
He didn't even have time to settle the score with Chang Yu. He turned to his wife with a smile and hurried to explain:
"I didn't go there to have fun, honey! Listen to me! I really went out in the middle of the night to catch a cat. I wasn't fooling around! Aaaah-!"
Seeing his wife pick up the cat teaser she normally used to play with the cat, Xi Wu decided he had better run first, or he would get beaten in public today.
