Chu Han is the son of Dragon God Chu Ye and Angel God King Qian Renxue, as well as the elder brother of Qian Xue. Though his seniority places him above the later Six-Winged Angel lineage, he is mentally only around twenty years old and asks Qian Leyu and Qian Yu not to address him as an ancestor in ordinary circumstances 703.

Before descending to the mortal realm, Chu Han spent more than a century in the Evil Creature Plane. Time moved slowly enough there that he remained only eleven to twelve years old, but the constant life-and-death combat turned him into a close-combat specialist capable of challenging red-level evil creatures—opponents comparable to Title Douluo above rank 96 581 582. He is calm, aloof, and often blunt with strangers. He initially assists Huo Yuhao without expecting repayment, but makes clear that he does not intend to waste time searching for someone who falls behind 586. At Spirit Hall Academy, he rejects romantic attention because he believes relationships would slow his pursuit of absolute power 596.

Despite this detachment, Chu Han is protective of those he values.
