A few days later at noon, Midtown High School cafeteria.
Peter student smashed his head on the dining table in despair. "I want to drop out of school."
MJ, who was sitting across from him, was flipping through the thick review materials and glared at him angrily. "Save it for me, genius. The things in your head are enough for you to study for a PhD. It's us who should worry. If I fail the algebra exam this time, I'll have to go to a summer cram school!"
"Parker! Help me look at this!" Flash·Flash Thompson rushed over, slammed the draft paper on the table, pointed at a symbol and scratched his head, "What the hell is this 'i' with a tail?!"
Peter sighed and braced himself, "That's an imaginary unit."
"I know it's called an imaginary number! How do you calculate it?!"
Peter took the pen as if resigned and began to explain the most basic concepts of plural numbers to these sports students. As more and more students gathered around, this lunch completely turned into a special cram school for Peter.
After finally finishing the last question, the crowd gradually dispersed. Tandy, who was sitting next to him, twisted his clothes awkwardly and asked in a low voice, "Um...Peter, are you free this weekend?"
Peter was slightly startled. He did have plans to secretly investigate several suspicious fund transactions of the local prosecutor this weekend, but obviously he couldn't tell the truth.
"I may have to go to Baxter Building to work overtime. There is a very critical experiment recently." Peter smiled apologetically, "What's wrong?"
Tandy's eyes flashed with a trace of unconcealable disappointment, and he forced a smile, "No, it's nothing, I just asked casually."
Peter keenly captured the emotional fluctuations emanating from her - disappointment, shyness, and a touch of self-blame.
He glanced at MJ subconsciously.
MJ rolled his eyes, picked up a pen and quickly wrote a line of words in his notebook and pushed it over:
[She wants to ask you out for Valentine's Day, you idiot.]
Peter widened his eyes and quickly replied on the paper: [Isn't it still early for Valentine's Day?!]
MJ added next to him: [It's next Sunday! You've been so busy lately, whether you're a student or a 'Spider'.]
Peter The corners of his mouth twitched, and he was about to erase the writing, but the skin on the back of his neck suddenly became tight in an instant!
Buzz!
An unprecedented sharp pain exploded in my mind without any warning! Spider-Sense was like a harsh alarm bell, screaming like a warning!
Fatal threat! Extremely dangerous!
Peter's pupils shrank suddenly, the bioelectric current in his body almost burst out of his body uncontrollably, and the bone spurs in his hands almost bounced off the bottom of the table. His heartbeat soared crazily, and he turned his head suddenly--
"Hey, everyone, what are you talking about that's so lively?"
A tall and straight figure stood at the dining table at some point, with a gentle and bright smile on his face.
Harry·Osborn.
The moment Peter saw the other person's face clearly, the piercing Spider-Sense alarm in his mind suddenly subsided, leaving only a suffocating aftermath.
Peter froze in place, looking at the person in front of him in disbelief. "Ha...Harry?"
Harry grinned. "Long time no see, Peter."
"Harry! You finally returned to the team!" Flash roared excitedly, jumped up and hugged Harry's shoulders.
The whole dining table was in an uproar, and familiar students gathered around to say hello. Harry was high-fiving and joking with everyone with a calm demeanor, looking amazingly good.
However, Peter sat there with a layer of cold sweat on his palms.
Why does the appearance of Harry trigger such a strong Spider-Sense?!
"Peter, who is this...?" Tandy beside him asked softly.
"An... old friend." Peter stood up slowly, his eyes sweeping over Harry's body inch by inch like a blade.
Harry noticed Peter's gaze, took the initiative to pat Flash's arm to signal everyone to get out of the way, and walked forward with a smile.
"Sorry, the gift was delivered a little late." Harry took out a beautifully wrapped small box from his coat pocket and handed it over.
Peter took the box and slowly unpacked it. Inside was a set of CDs of collector's edition popular science documentaries, and there was even an autograph from a well-known astrophysicist on the cover.
"You gave me a set of "The Mask of Zorro" for Christmas. This is a return gift." Harry raised his eyebrows, "You were the only one who came to see me in the ward at that time, but I always remembered it."
Peter stared at Harry's face.
Something is wrong.
Something is so wrong.
A few days ago Harry was still in a deep coma and in a vegetative state, but now he has a rosy complexion, his body is half a head taller than before, his shoulders are broad and strong, and the muscle lines under his suit are full of explosive power. He looks like an all-around athlete who has just returned from the Olympic training base.
"Harry... What's going on with your body?" Peter asked in a deep voice, "The doctor didn't mean that your nervous system..."
"I went to Switzerland's sanatorium. The cutting-edge physical therapy there worked wonders." Harry shrugged and said in a relaxed tone, "Anyway, I'm completely healed."
Flash shouted loudly from the side, "Did you hear that! Osborn, the young master is resurrected with full health! We must go to the bar to celebrate all night tonight!"
There was cheering all around, but Peter's brain was running wildly.
It is impossible for a vegetative person to complete this level of transformation within a week. Even if it is a miracle, it is impossible to reshape the muscles and nerve fibers of the whole body out of thin air.
Unless... fortified serum.
Combined with the situation that Norman·Osborn was forced into Extremis, and the human body enhancement project he was secretly advancing... a terrifying thought instantly arose in Peter's mind.
Norman injected the unperfected Green Goblin Serum into his own son!
"Peter?" Harry's voice interrupted his thoughts, "Why do you look so ugly? What the hell?"
Peter suddenly came to his senses and forced a smile, "No... it's just too unexpected. It's great that you can recover."
Harry smiled, and his eyes suddenly fell on Tandy next to him. A hint of surprise flashed in his eyes. "This lovely lady is a new face? Why don't you introduce her to me?"
"My name is Tandy Bowen." Tandy responded with some restraint.
"Nice to meet you, I am Harry." Harry Gentleman stretched out his hand, turned his head and winked at Peter, "It seems that during my absence, you have gained many interesting new friends."
Peter stood half a step forward without leaving any trace, blocking Harry's sight.
As soon as the school bell rang, Peter grabbed his school bag and walked out.
