Peter shook his head. "It looks like some kind of high-level blocking barrier, but... wait, damn! He trapped us all here! This is a trap!"
Before he finished speaking, the big screen in the center of the hall suddenly turned on automatically.
The image of Doctor Doom appeared on the screen. He was standing on the roof of a desolate town. His suit had a completely new change - the overall lines were more streamlined, green and silver, with a hexagonal energy core embedded in his chest. It looked like the Mark 42 of Tony·Stark was painted green.
"Extremely vulgar and uncreative." Peter complained silently in his heart.
"Richards." Doctor Doom spoke slowly, looking at everyone, "Oh... it seems you all survived. And you, Peter... it really surprises me.. I thought you could be caught off guard. What do you think, do you like the little gift I gave you? I think it is more appropriate to end your career with the platform that made you famous. Twitter This thing is indeed a dangerous weapon."
Peter clenched his fists and crackled. "Yes, it is indeed dangerous. But you made a fatal mistake, Doom."
"Oh? I would like to hear the details."
"You ruined my ordinary life," Peter said coldly, "This means that now I can devote all my energy to defeating you."
"Maybe... if you still live." Doctor Doom turned to look at Reed, "Richards, you should recognize this place, right?"
Reed's face instantly turned pale. "That... that's my hometown."
"That's right. It was here that you first proposed the idea of interdimensional travel; it was also here that the plan that allowed me to finally reach the godhead was born. And this place will soon become the only proof that you ever existed... After your death. Farewell, Richards. Susan... I'm sorry."
The face of Doctor Doom disappeared, replaced by a two-minute countdown on the screen.
At the same time, Peter's Spider-Sense exploded with alarm!
"Come on! This place is going to explode!" Peter shouted, "He's rigged the whole building with bombs!"
"You can't leave!" Susan exclaimed, "There are still many workers working on the lower floor!"
"Found the bomb!" Reed shouted, "Su, can you make the wall see-through?!"
Susan gritted his teeth and nodded. "I'll try!"
She rushed towards the wall, pushing Invisible Woman's power to the limit. She closed her eyes tightly, veins popped out on her forehead, and the wall gradually became transparent under the penetration of her energy, revealing the intricate wiring and structure inside.
As she continued to increase her output, cold sweat poured down like rain, and even her own body began to become blurry and transparent. Just as Johnny was about to speak, Reed held her down for fear of disturbing her.
"There!"
Peter's sharp eyes glanced at the inside of the floor directly under the sofa. There lay quietly a one-meter-long and half-meter-deep green metal box, with a scarlet number countdown flashing on the front of the box.
"Ah!..."
Susan groaned in pain and fell down exhausted. Johnny quickly caught his sister with his eyes and hands.
Peter rushed forward, stretched out the bone spurs to pierce the ground, and cut open the marble floor tiles, revealing the bomb hidden inside. He lifted the bomb out, looked at the complicated structure above, and frowned.
"The structure is completely wrong, I can't understand it at all!" Peter scolded.
"Give it to me!" Reed grabbed the box and opened the casing with his bare hands, revealing the dense wires inside. He was sweating profusely and fiddling with the parameters, trying to dismantle it.
Peter's heart is heavy. Doom will never give them the chance to follow the clues and defuse the bomb. There are only twenty seconds left!
Pocket Dimension!
"Give it to me!" Peter grabbed the bomb and ran away.
"Peter! What are you doing?!" Susan shouted from behind, and followed him into Peter's laboratory.
Peter kicked open the laboratory door, rushed to the shelf at the far end of the room, and grabbed a black bag.
This is the spare Endless Storage Bag he made before to test Magic Pocket Dimension and prepare to apply it to battle suits and sports cars. It is about the same size as an ordinary schoolbag, just enough!
Peter opened the zipper and stuffed the bomb firmly in. The bomb fell into the endless Pocket Dimension and fell straight into the bottomless abyss. Then, he grabbed his original Endless Storage Bag and threw the spare bag neatly into it!
Exactly three seconds - the countdown reaches zero!
Everyone subconsciously tightened their bodies and closed their eyes.
However, the expected destruction did not come. The bag lay on the ground intact.
Peter breathed a sigh of relief, opened his storage bag and looked inside. The spare bag inside had been burned to ashes by the violent explosion, leaving only a few pieces of broken cloth.
He slumped down on the chair and wiped away cold sweat. "Huh... it's too dangerous."
"It's more than just a risk!" Johnny supported the table as if he was exhausted and put Susan on the chair, "How do you know this trick can work?"
"That's Endless Storage Bag," Peter explained, "There is an independent Pocket Dimension inside. The energy of the explosion spreads in infinite space and cannot be transmitted at all."
Susan looked at Peter with a sparkle in her beautiful eyes. "You saved us again... This has almost become a habit for you."
Reed looked at Peter in silence. At that moment, Peter caught a look of resentment in his eyes, and then Reed turned to look out the window. The green barrier had disappeared at some point.
"The shield has disappeared." Reed's voice was cold, "Doom can't run far, we still have time to catch up."
"No." Peter stopped him.
Reed paused in his steps and turned around slowly. "No?"
"No." Peter said firmly, "This is obviously a trap."
"Brother, he almost blew us all up just now, why did he set another trap?" Johnny asked in confusion.
"Because that guy is an extremely shrewd bastard!" Peter snapped, "It's not like you don't understand Doom! Could he be satisfied with blowing us up quietly with a bomb?! What he wants is to defeat us with his own hands! What he wants is to look into our eyes and take away our lives! This is definitely a game!"
"So what?!" Reed roared violently, "That's my hometown, Peter! As long as he stays there for one more second, everyone in the town will be his bargaining chip!"
"Would Doom really do this? He is an arrogant and arrogant person, but he is by no means an irrational murderer! He wants the world to worship him as a god instead of treating him as the executioner of the great Carnage!" Peter argued, "Be clear, Reed! His target is us! If we go there, we will fall into the trap!"
