Peter is sitting in the laboratory, busy with a new project at hand.
Ever since the girl who calls herself "Spider-Woman" - Peter speculates that she is Gwen Stacy·Stacy - appeared in the public eye a few days ago, he has been paying attention to her heroic deeds. I have to say... she behaved really badly.
But she can't blame her entirely. She doesn't have Silk-Shooter, doesn't have any technological equipment, or even a decent set of armor. She's just wearing an ordinary layer of tights. Although the clothes do outline her figure very attractively, the bulletproof effect is basically zero.
This also prompted Peter to launch the "Spider-Gwen Project".
He customized a Unstable Molecule Fabric (UMF) suit for Gwen Stacy, equipped with a pair of Silk-Shooter, built-in Scanning Adapter (SA), retractable blades, and a Magic totem that can increase speed by 1.5%. To be honest, this set of equipment is quite cool.
In addition to these equipment, Peter also stuffed a book on how to build self-confidence inside, as well as about twenty pages of battle notes written by himself. The notes recorded in detail how to deal with opponents who were far larger and stronger than him, and even thoughtfully included all the funny jokes and puns he could think of.
Peter put everything into a silver suitcase and set a password lock. As for the password, it was Gwen Stacy's birthday.
He carried the suitcase and walked into the kitchen. Qin was preparing breakfast, Wanda was holding a book and reading aside, and Felicia was checking something on a portable SA System specially made for her by Peter.
Peter put the box on the table, Qin raised her head and raised her eyebrows. "Is this...?"
"A big gift package for the new Spider-Man." Peter smiled and leaned over and kissed Qin on the lips, "I think she is in urgent need of some help now."
"Do you know this girl?" Wanda closed the book and watched Qin hand Peter a cup of warm black coffee.
"Thank you." Peter took a sip of coffee, "I know, or I roughly know who she is. I told you about parallel universes. In one of the worlds, Peter·Parker was not bitten by Spider, nor did he gain superpowers. Instead, his girlfriend at the time was bitten and became Spider-Woman. She wore exactly the same uniform, so I guess they are the same person."
Qin raised her eyebrows and said in a playful tone, "The girlfriend you are talking about... doesn't you mean Felicia or me?"
Peter shook his head repeatedly. "No, her name is Gwen Stacy·Stacy. In fact, I have met her in this world once, and she also helped me deal with the two-meter-tall the Lizard who wanted to turn New York into Jurassic Park."
Felicia raised his head and looked at him with a half-smile, "Then what?"
"What then?"
"Then..."
"Xiaomao..."
"Peter..."
"Well, we may have kissed once or twice at the time," Peter shrugged and defended, "But that was after Tyrone died, and I was in a very low mood. And we didn't really date."
"Who is Tyrone?" Felicia asked, his voice lowered. Only then did Peter realize that he had not had time to tell her many things he had experienced since she left.
Peter sighed and waved his hand, "It's not important anymore."
Although Felicia looked a little unhappy, Qin just smiled narrowly, "There's no need to be so nervous, Peter. You're not in love with that girl... right?"
Peter looked at her and smiled slightly. He conveyed his truest love through mental induction. When Qin received this feeling, the worry in his eyes disappeared instantly.
Peter leaned over and kissed her forehead. "I'll be back soon. Can you three help me guard the temple for a few days?"
"So, you are going to meet your new apprentice?" Wanda raised his eyebrows with a hint of ridicule in his tone.
"Uh... yeah?"
"Do I have to pay some consulting fees?" Scarlet Witch refused.
Peter sighed, "Okay... what do you want?"
Wanda raised a smile of success at the corner of his mouth, "I need you to help me research a new spell - a spell about probabilistic energy manipulation."
Peter narrowed his eyes. "Wanda, that is a very dangerous Magic field." Not to mention, this will become her signature ability in the future.
Wanda rolled his eyes. "I know, that's why I asked you to help. How about it, is it a deal?"
"Okay, it's not too difficult to help you... We can talk in detail when I come back."
"Hey! What about us!" Felicia shouted dissatisfied, "We also want compensation!"
Peter smiled, "How was the date?"
Qin laughed, "Come to think of it, it seems like we have never really dated... just the three of us."
Peter was stunned for a moment, then felt a little guilty. "Oh... God, you're right. I'm sorry, I really didn't realize it before..."
"Okay, Peter, it's okay." Qin interrupted him with a smile, "Just make up for it later, go ahead. You usually stay in the laboratory and here for too long, you should go out for a walk. As for us, we can always find things to kill time."
Qin sighed and said with some nostalgia, "However, sometimes I do miss school. It's not about homework, but I miss having friends and being able to go out and play together."
"If you want, you can find a school here to study." Peter suggested while helping her arrange the dishes, "There should be good schools nearby. If you are serious, you can complete your studies."
Wanda scoffed. "Sounds like a nightmare."
Felicia shrugged. "I have no objection to going out for a walk, but I don't want to go back to that Hell-like place like school."
Peter smiled, "Hey, you can't tell, maybe you will like it."
"What about you, Mr. Peter?" Qin asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Me? I am now a wanted international terrorist in the world." Peter smiled proudly, "However, I am also a genius. The credits I got two years ago were enough to graduate from high school. If it weren't for Richard, Uncle Ben and Aunt May's insistence, I would have graduated long ago. They just wanted me to live an ordinary life."
"It's a pity that it didn't work out in the end, didn't it?" Qin joked, "... but I think the idea of going to school is a good one. I really can't stay at home all day. If the temple is attacked, Wanda and Felicia will be enough to cope with it, and I can come back at any time. I will consider it, Peter. Now, it's time for you to set off. If you finish helping that girl early, you can come back early."
"It's your order." Peter stood up, picked up the suitcase, and kissed Qin and Felicia on the cheeks. "Pay attention to safety, Xiaoniao, Xiaomao. I will come back as soon as possible."
"What about me, Spider-Man?" Wanda joked at the side.
"You want a kiss too?" Peter teased, in exchange for an unceremonious middle finger from Wanda.
"Have a safe trip," Jean shouted.
"Of course." Peter nodded.
The battle uniform on his body began to shimmer, and instantly transformed into a pair of blue jeans, a blue T-shirt with the Captain America shield printed on it, a loose black hooded jacket, and a pair of steel-toed boots.
Then, the battle suit formed an invisible infinite storage bag next to the left pocket of his jeans, and Peter stuffed the silver suitcase inside, freeing up his hands. Finally, the suit covered his face and started the camouflage program, turning his face into a slightly rich, middle-aged man with a stubble.
Peter took out Sling Ring and drew a portal leading to Central Park. He waved to the girls, stepped over, and the portal closed instantly behind him.
He looked around, pulled up the collar of his coat, lowered his hood, put his hands in his pockets, and carefully observed his surroundings to make sure he was not being followed.
This kind of persecution paranoia is really tormenting.
"Sassy," Peter called in a low voice, "Where do Gwen Stacy·Stacy work now?"
"Empire State University," AI replied, "After Curt·Connors was arrested, she was recruited by Professor Miles·Warren. She is currently serving as his assistant, conducting research on genetic engineering."
Peter narrowed his eyes. Miles·Warren... Why does this name sound so familiar? He vaguely remembered that this person seemed to be a villain in Spider-Man's future, but he couldn't remember it for a while. To be honest, the memory of his previous life has become a little blurry now.
"Check all the information on Miles·Warren. Hack into his computer and mobile phone, monitor his social media. See if he has any signs of mental instability, or if he has hidden a body somewhere."
"Understood, Peter. I will notify you immediately if I find anything." Sassy immediately cut off the communication.
Peter took the subway to Brooklyn, and came all the way to Empire State University. To be fair, this school is really good, and it can be regarded as one of the top ten universities on the East Coast. But after all, it is not the best.
This also made Peter confused. Even Susan·Storm personally invited Gwen Stacy to work at Baxter Foundation, Gwen Stacy Why would refuse and choose to stay in a place like this instead? He knew that Gwen Stacy would never go to Osborn Enterprises, but what about Stark Industries? This doesn't make sense. There must be something fishy in it.
Peter got off at the subway station nearest to the school and walked to the campus. It was noon at this time, and the school just ended for lunch. Since Gwen Stacy had a somewhat tense relationship with her father, and her mother had passed away long ago, it was obvious that she would not bring her own lunch and would definitely go out to eat.
The university campus has an elegant environment, with red brick walls, wrought iron gates, and green trees on the campus. The main teaching building is majestic, and students can be seen everywhere on the lawn enjoying the afternoon sunshine.
Peter waited at the school gate for a while until he saw a large number of students pouring out. He slipped into a cafe across the street and ordered a cup of cappuccino. After paying the young and beautiful female clerk a large tip, he walked out with the coffee.
Just in time, he saw Gwen Stacy·Stacy walking out of the school gate.
Peter smiled slightly, followed her with a sip of coffee, and followed her from a distance. He watched Gwen Stacy walk into Subway opposite and buy a sandwich. She was alone, staring at her phone while eating, with a smile on her face from time to time. It seemed that she was texting with someone.
Peter sat down on a bench by the roadside, watching Gwen Stacy eat lunch, while admiring the long-lost city street scene. Although he would come back occasionally,... after all, it was not as good as the feeling of really living here.
However, this tranquility was soon broken by the piercing sound of sirens in the distance. A police car and a fire truck roared through the streets and sped towards the north of the city.
"Sassy?" Peter whispered.
"There was an explosion in a residential area and the fire was huge. The police currently suspect that it was arson."
Peter turned his head and saw Gwen Stacy rushing out of Subway with a backpack and ducking into an alley. A moment later, a white figure leaped between the roofs and sped towards the fire scene.
Peter smiled, this girl has a very strong sense of responsibility.
He decided to follow. Peter ducked into a deserted alley, and with a push of his feet, he jumped up from the ground and jumped onto the roof. Using the darkness and disguise, he quickly shuttled between the buildings and easily kept up with Gwen Stacy's pace.
As they approached the burning apartment building, Peter stopped on the rooftop in the distance. He watched as Gwen Stacy, without any hesitation, ran straight into the smoke-filled attic.
Peter rubbed his temples helplessly.
Should she be called brave, or should she be called stupid? She didn't think at all. If she had used her brain a little, she would have noticed that there was a medium-sized water tank on the roof where she just jumped. With her current strange strength, she could use that water tank to put out the fire.
However, seeing her quickly climb out of the window with a woman in her arms, slide down the wall quickly, put the person down, and then rush back into the fire without hesitation, a smile gradually appeared on Peter's face.
'Maybe, I really don't have to worry too much.'
Peter silently watched her going in and out again and again. Before the fire was controlled and the firefighters took over, she rescued a total of five people.
Then, she jumped away and hid on a roof a few blocks away. She took off her mask, gasped for air, and coughed violently, trying to cough out the thick smoke she had inhaled.
Seeing the rescued citizens being put into ambulances, a bright smile broke out on her face.
It is indeed her, with her iconic short pixie hair, slightly upturned nose, and her smile as warm as ever.
Although Peter can do it faster and better on her own, for a novice, her performance is already amazing enough.
Peter followed her all the way back to school, hiding in the canopy of trees and observing her. Through the window of the laboratory, he saw Gwen Stacy put on a white coat and doing experiments with several graduate students. She looked very happy. After what happened to Professor Connors, she really needed some happiness.
After school, Peter watched her return to a simple single apartment, put on her uniform, and climbed out of the window. Peter continued to protect her in secret.
Until ten o'clock in the evening, she stopped a robbery, a theft and an ATM theft, and then returned to the room to rest tiredly.
Peter stood on the rooftop in the distance, approving in his heart.
She has fighting spirit, toughness, and attitude. To be honest, her performance exceeded Peter's expectations. Although her level of cold jokes is far worse than mine, no one is perfect and cannot ask for too much.
However, Peter is still a little worried. He is worried that Gwen Stacy does not realize what kind of name she carries. She is not ready to become "Spider" in this world.
The name "Spider-Man" has long been deeply imprinted in this world by the actions of Peter. It is a symbol full of controversy and is officially regarded as a "terrorist". If Gwen Stacy is not ready to bear all this, she will not be able to truly inherit this name.
Peter decided to meet her tomorrow and talk to her as "Spider". But tonight... since he returned to New York, he planned to meet some old friends by the way.
His first stop, Hell's Kitchen.
Hell's Kitchen Somewhere:
"I swear! I really don't know anything!"
A gangster was pressed against the red brick wall, his kneecaps were shattered, his arms were broken, and he was wailing in horror. The person standing in front of him was none other than Devil of Hell's Kitchen.
"You work for Dominic Gang," Daredevil's voice was low and hoarse, "They have been crazy about expanding their drug territory recently. You must know something, tell me!"
"I said! I said! I only know that they have a batch of goods arriving at Pier 12 at midnight tomorrow! That's all!"
"You'd better pray that I won't come looking for you again." Daredevil snorted coldly and hit the gangster with a heavy punch on the head, knocking him out completely.
He looked around. There were more than a dozen unconscious gang members lying scattered in this warehouse. But he knew that there was another person here.
Daredevil listened attentively, raised the corners of his mouth slightly, and turned to look at a stack of wooden boxes stacked high. "Peter, it's great to hear your heartbeat again."
"Damn it!" Peter cursed lowly and released the stealth mode of the suit. "I knew I should add a silent barrier to the stealth mode. Also, why did you just call me by my real name, devil boy?"
"This is not a secret in the circle." Daredevil smiled, raised his hand and shot the zipline to the roof, and his whole body instantly swung up to the skylight.
Peter followed and jumped onto the roof. He looked at his old friend in front of him and smiled, "It's great to see you again, Matt."
The two shook hands.
"Are you coming back for a long time this time?" Matt asked as he walked to the edge of the roof and looked at the street below.
"No... there is a new Spider in the city, let me take a look at her." Peter replied, looking down at the neighborhood he had guarded countless times.
"I heard about her. She mainly works at Queens, right?"
Peter nodded. "Yeah. Very talented, but still too young."
Matt responded in agreement, "So, do you know who she is?"
"Know."
"How does it feel?"
"I think she can do it," Peter walked to him, "The process will be difficult, but I will teach her some basic skills... and I think she needs a mentor."
"No, no, no. Absolutely not." Matt refused again and again.
"Why not?"
"Because I don't have the time to teach a kid, I have to save my energy to prevent murders."
"Give her a chance, Matt. I guarantee that she at least has the heart to be a hero."
Daredevil muttered a few words, and finally sighed helplessly, "Okay... I really can't do anything about you. However, I'm really happy to see you again, Peter. Without you, New York always feels like something is missing."
"At least the city hasn't collapsed yet." Peter smiled, "I have to thank you for this, right?"
Matt chuckled, "Maybe... but Glider has also helped a lot recently."
This surprised Peter: "Really? Harry?"
Matt nodded. "Good performance. After you left, the crime rate in the city increased. It was Glider who stepped up to stabilize the situation. He did a good job, Peter, you should go see him... At least, you owe him an explanation."
Peter sighed, "Yes... I know. Then I'll go first, Matt, take care. Oh, by the way, if necessary--"
Peter handed over a note with the address of New York Sanctum written on it, "Go to this place and tell them that you know me and need help. They will not refuse you."
Matt took the note and touched the lines on it. "Thank you... Is this Braille on it?"
Peter smiled, "Otherwise? Who do you think I am?"
He jumped forward and started the suit's propeller. "See you later, Mr. Crocodile!" Then it turned into a stream of light and disappeared into the night sky.
