"It's okay." Peter picked up his Coke, "You are too thin for me."

He stood up and left. He didn't know who that woman was, and he wasn't interested in getting to know her.

After waiting for about half an hour, Peter was already a little impatient, wishing that this boring activity would end soon. At this moment, a platform rose from the ground, and Norman·Osborn stepped onto the stage.

The crowd applauded. Norman smiled and greeted everyone, "Thank you all for coming here today. As we all know, Osborn Enterprises has been committed to the research and development of clean energy for a long time. It is a pity that the lamp of the future of Tony·Stark always steals our limelight."

There was a chuckle from the audience.

"But now, it's our turn to show you our results. Tony's light shines like a distant star, and ours - burns like the sun." Norman's smile deepened, "I It took us a long time to convince people to join this project. But today I am happy to announce that with the team's efforts and the support of many enlightened people, Osborn Enterprises will provide clean energy to the entire New York city!"

The crowd let out a burst of exclamation, and then burst into warm applause.

"And tonight, we will fulfill this promise! When my chief scientist Otto Octavius activates this machine, the energy delivered to the entire city of New York will be entirely provided by this facility! And it will run stably for at least a hundred years! So, no more nonsense--Otto! Take us into the future!"

Peter has to admit that Norman is a very good at creating atmosphere.

Otto walked onto the platform, followed closely by Rosie. Without saying a word, he took off his coat and handed it to his wife, revealing the four huge mechanical tentacles on his back. He was still using the neural connection device to control these arms.

Not very good.

Rosie walked off the platform. The entire platform slowly rose, lifting Otto into the air. His robotic arms stretched out and moved individually. One of them stretched out to Rosie, and Rosie picked up a wooden box. The robotic arm opened the lid of the box, and the other one reached in and took out a stone that glowed purple.

Peter's pupils suddenly contracted.

"No--"

He rushed towards Rosie and watched helplessly as Otto put the stone into the center of the machine and slowly started it.

"You have to stop him." Peter said to Rosie.

Rosie was stunned. "Peter? How did you-"

"Where did that stone come from?" Peter stared at the huge fusion reactor.

"Norman gave it. We have tested it, Peter, it is safe." Rosie said in a confident tone.

"No." Peter said, "This is a time bomb. Have you tested it on this machine?"

"We... don't, no--"

"What happened?!" someone in the crowd screamed.

Peter turned his head suddenly. In the center of the machine, the purple stone had turned into a blazing red, like a miniature sun. Something was wrong.

An energy shock wave suddenly spread outward. The crowd was pushed back and staggered back, and everyone's hair stood on end due to static electricity.

"Rosie! I can't control it anymore! Turn it off!" Otto roared, trying to suppress the miniature sun with its robotic arm.

"Right away!" Rosie turned around and ran away.

"No!" Peter chased after him.

Rosie rushed to the switch and was about to pull it down when a violent burst of solar energy spurted out from the reactor and went straight in her direction.

Spider-Sense exploded in his head, but Peter couldn't care less. He jumped up and pushed Rosie aside.

The energy wave passed by them and hit the ground, causing concrete fragments to scatter. People fled in all directions, and Peter saw Norman evacuating surrounded by bodyguards.

"Peter?" Rosie looked at him blankly, then came back to his senses, "We have to stop it!"

"Get down and don't move!"

Peter rushed to the console, found the emergency shut-off switch at a glance, and pulled it hard.

The magnetic stabilizer was activated instantly, forcing the little sun to be extinguished. But it had expanded too big and violently, and refused to calm down.

An energy shock wave shot straight towards Peter. He had no time to dodge and was hit straight away. His whole body was knocked out, and he turned somersaults in mid-air before landing firmly on the ground.

"Rosie bie--"

Amidst Otto's screams, another energy wave rushed towards Rosie. Otto jumped off the platform, stretched out its four mechanical arms, rushed to his wife in a few strides, and blocked her with his body.

"Ah--!"

He screamed. Peter could see clearly that the metal arms were burning red under the high temperature and melting into his spine inch by inch.

"Otto!" Rosie screamed.

Otto was blown away by the shock wave and slammed into the hangar wall. Rosie got up and rushed towards him.

Boom--

The roof above Otto began to collapse, and Rosie was running straight over there.

Peter reached into his arms and took out Silk-Shooter. In the rapid spray sound, several Silk accurately stuck to the falling roof fragments and walls.

Rosie rushed to Otto: "Otto? Otto! Speak!"

"Rosie, we have to leave! Now!" Peter rushed forward.

"No! We can't leave him!"

Peter gritted his teeth. "Okay." He picked up Otto and carried it on his shoulders, holding it up like a firefighter, dragging four heavy mechanical arms on the ground. "Quickly!"

Rosie didn't bother to ask him how he could carry a person twice his weight and nearly two tons of metal. At that time, she probably didn't even think about it.

As soon as the three people rushed out of the warehouse, the last energy shock wave erupted. The shock wave sent Peter and Rosie flying. Peter protected Otto and fell to the ground, while Rosie was thrown directly towards a big tree.

His head hit the tree trunk, and blood suddenly poured out.

"No--" Peter dropped Otto and ran over. He lifted her up. She was not dead, but lost consciousness. "Wake up, Rosie, come here! Find a doctor!"

No one responded. Everyone was running for their lives.

Peter took out his mobile phone and dialed a number that he knew by heart. The call was answered almost immediately.

"Hello?"

"Tony, contact S.H.I.E.L.D. and ask them to send someone to Long Island's Osborn laboratory immediately. There was a small sun super Nova erupting here just now. Someone was injured, I'm not sure if the thing hasn't gone out yet."

"I'll notify them immediately."

The phone hung up. Peter knew that Tony would keep his word. He hugged Rosie tightly to ensure that she would not have another accident.

He is just so far away from the critical node. Rosie is the reason why Otto went crazy - at least one of the reasons. As long as she is saved, Otto may be saved.
