Ch. 182Green Goblin and Scorpion's Melee

Peter left the injured X-Men after learning that Harry had become the Green Goblin and was attacking New York. He reached Times Square, where Harry was fighting Scorpion, and stopped a Pumpkin Bomb from exploding over the crowd.

  • Sassy warned Peter that the Green Goblin alert had been triggered, so Peter said goodbye to Jean and flew toward New York.
  • Peter lost his surveillance drone but used Harry’s nanotracker to locate him near Times Square.
  • Peter arrived and saw Scorpion hurl a car toward the crowd while Harry rode a green-flamed glider and threw Pumpkin Bombs.
  • Scorpion batted Harry’s Pumpkin Bombs toward the crowd, and Peter froze one with a cryo-bomb before it could explode.

Ch. 183Scorpion Out of Control

Peter and Harry fought Scorpion after he lost control, but Harry’s explosive attack left Scorpion badly burned and unconscious. Norman Osborn publicly introduced Harry as the city’s new guardian, and Captain Stacy arrived as Peter handed over the scene.

  • Scorpion lost control and attacked Peter and fleeing civilians with acid, while Harry cut into Scorpion’s armor.
  • Peter used the Wand of Watoomb to shield civilians from acid and webbed Scorpion to the ground, but Harry’s Pumpkin Bomb set Scorpion on fire.
  • Peter extinguished Scorpion’s flames, then angrily confronted Harry for treating the out-of-control man as a villain instead of helping him.
  • Norman Osborn announced Harry as Osborn Enterprises’ new guardian, Glider, while the company’s cleanup crew arrived and ignored Scorpion.
  • Peter cocooned Scorpion in webbing, and Captain Stacy arrived with police to take over the scene.

Ch. 184Osborn's hero business

Peter warned Chief Stacy that Harry Osborn had been controlled while fighting Scorpion, then watched Norman Osborn secure official police backing for Glider. Peter distrusted Norman’s motives and left the Baxter Building’s discussion convinced the arrangement would end badly.

  • Peter told Chief Stacy that Scorpion had been controlled and that Glider’s bombs had caused extensive destruction.
  • Peter swung away from the scene and noticed a green letter G glowing beside the Osborn Enterprises logo.
  • At the Baxter Building, Peter, Susan, Reed, and Johnny watched a televised debate about Glider and Osborn Enterprises.
  • Norman Osborn announced that Glider would officially assist the police as a special consultant, and Chief Harlem confirmed the agreement.
  • Peter said Norman cared only about profit and fame, then asked Johnny to heat a frozen pizza.

Ch. 185The Green Goblin Hunter project

Peter argued with Reed over his investigation of Harry Osborn and revealed that a Norman Osborn from another universe had killed his son and nearly killed Peter’s family. After Reed stormed off, Peter confided in Johnny about his alternate-world wife and daughter, then began designing equipment for a project called “Green Goblin Hunter.”

  • Peter admitted that he had tracked Harry with drones and hacked Osborn Enterprises to learn about the failed Green Field serum, prompting Reed to condemn his actions.
  • Peter told Reed that Norman Osborn in the parallel universe had nearly killed Peter, his wife, and daughter, and had killed his own son; Reed insisted this world was different before blurting out his feelings about Susan.
  • Reed left the room, and Susan followed to comfort him while Peter and Johnny ate pizza and discussed the alternate-world Norman and Peter’s family.
  • Peter told Johnny that Mayday, the Spider-Girl Johnny had once hit on, was his daughter, making Johnny flustered.
  • Peter returned to the laboratory and started the Green Goblin Hunter project, sketching suit weapons to counter bombs, fireballs, and other possible Green Goblin threats.

Ch. 186Infiltrating the vibranium vault

Peter left school for Johannesburg after feeling isolated, then infiltrated Ulysses Klaue’s shipbreaking-yard hideout to reach the vibranium vault. He opened the vault amid a diversion that filled the ship’s hold with explosions and steam.

  • Peter received Ulysses Klaue’s location from Tony and decided to travel to South Africa.
  • Peter left school, arranged cover for his absence, and flew to Johannesburg.
  • Peter identified a freighter with signs of frequent use and infiltrated it in stealth mode.
  • Peter used thermal imaging and webbing to incapacitate the ship’s deck guards before finding the hidden vault.
  • Peter had Sassy crack the vault’s access control and detonated explosive foam on a steam pipe to distract the guards.

Ch. 187Vibranium and telekinesis

Peter stole Klaue’s vibranium and returned to the Baxter Building, where he studied the Web of Life and gained a new way to perceive magic. After mastering telekinesis, he was caught floating by Susan, who questioned whether he was a mutant.

  • Peter disabled the chamber’s surveillance, stole all of its vibranium, and left Klaue a taunting message on the wall.
  • Peter returned to the Baxter Building and ordered materials for making unstable molecule fabric.
  • Peter studied Carl Cole’s account of the Web of Life and learned that it was tied to Spider-Totems and mystic energy.
  • Peter meditated, sensed the Web of Life, and developed a perception he called Web Vision.
  • Peter used Web Vision to master telekinesis within hours.
  • Susan found Peter floating in his room, and he told her the ability came from mental power rather than mutant genes.

Ch. 188The Unstable Molecules Patent

Peter developed a transformative clothing machine and received Reed Richards's permission to use the unstable molecules patent, but his day ended with personal complications and a warning that the Brotherhood of Mutants had escaped. Jean cautioned Peter to stay alert because Magneto might target him.

  • Peter explained that his clothing machine used Reed Richards's unstable molecules, and Reed angrily gave him the patent after accusing Peter of treating him like a charity case.
  • Peter assembled the machine, protected his laboratory with a magic barrier, and returned home to find Mary Jane angry that he had disappeared for three days.
  • Peter told Mary Jane about his clothing project, then learned that Tandy had accepted Harry's invitation to spend Valentine's Day together as friends.
  • Jean Grey warned Peter that the Brotherhood of Mutants had escaped from prison and urged him to watch out for Magneto.

Ch. 189The awakening of Cloak and Dagger

Peter followed Harry and Tandy on their date, but Cloak attacked them in Central Park, sending Peter and Tandy into the Dark Dimension. Tandy awakened as Dagger there, and Peter began looking for a way out with her.

  • Peter secretly followed Harry and Tandy through their date because he feared Harry might lose control from the Green Field serum.
  • Peter overheard Harry and Tandy talk about Peter before Cloak approached them, saying he was drawn to Tandy’s light.
  • Cloak hurled Harry away, trapped Peter with shadows, and seized Tandy, who erupted with light and awakened as Dagger.
  • Tandy’s light daggers struck Cloak, but he grew into a massive vortex that pulled Peter and Tandy into the Dark Dimension.
  • Peter cushioned Tandy’s fall, revealed that he was Spider-Man, and offered to help her find a way out.

Ch. 190Light in the Dark Dimension

Peter and Tandy struggled to escape the Darkforce Dimension, where Peter realized his interference had left Tyrone without Tandy’s Lightforce and driven him into madness. They followed a faint energy trail through the darkness, while Tandy worried about Harry.

  • Black tentacles seized Tandy, but Peter used Lightforce flowing from her to cut them apart.
  • Peter used Web Vision and realized Tandy’s light had empowered his claws and that his interference had disrupted the balance between light and darkness.
  • Peter urged Tandy to use her power as they followed a faint energy trail through the Darkforce Dimension.
  • Peter and Tandy agreed to escape together, introduced themselves, and continued walking through the void.
  • Tandy wondered if the person who dragged them into the dimension was waiting ahead and hoped Harry was safe, while Peter teased her about their Valentine’s date.

Ch. 191Tandy's Light Blade

Peter and Tandy followed an energy trail toward a rift leading to Central Park, but living shadows attacked and trapped Peter. After Peter gave Tandy his suit and urged her to escape, she unleashed a burst of light that freed him, then collapsed into his arms.

  • Tandy told Peter about the man she liked, unaware that he was the very person she was complaining about.
  • Peter and Tandy found a spatial rift above them that opened onto Central Park.
  • Shadow tentacles attacked, and Peter was overwhelmed after pushing Tandy out of their path.
  • Peter cut off the upper half of his suit and threw it to Tandy, telling her to put it on and fly through the rift.
  • Tandy recognized Peter when she saw his face, then unleashed a dazzling light that destroyed the shadows.
  • Tandy collapsed, and Peter caught her and asked if she was all right.

Ch. 192Cloak's past

Peter and Tandy learned that the shadow monster was Tyrone, a tortured boy whose uncontrolled powers had driven him to kill. As Tyrone remembered his past and confessed to killing fifteen people, Peter defended him while Tandy recoiled in horror.

  • Peter revealed to Tandy that he was Spider-Man and warned her that she should have escaped.
  • The real Tyrone appeared and explained that the shadow monster had taken over his body.
  • Tyrone's memories showed that Francis and his organization kidnapped him and subjected him to brutal experiments to activate his Mutant Gene.
  • Tyrone's powers erupted during an experiment, letting him escape the laboratory and flee to New York.
  • Unable to control his hunger for light, Tyrone's shadows killed fifteen people before he found Tandy.
  • Tandy called Tyrone a monster, but Peter insisted he could not control his power, and Tyrone cried that he had killed fifteen innocents.

Ch. 193Cloak's self-sacrifice

Peter and Tandy escaped Tyrone’s cloak, but Tandy’s light killed Tyrone when he attacked them in Central Park. Peter blamed himself for changing their fates and arranged for help as Tandy grieved.

  • Tyrone used the darkness to throw Peter and Tandy out of the cloak into Central Park.
  • Tyrone attacked them, and Tandy pierced his chest with daggers of light.
  • Tyrone thanked Tandy before dying, and the black mist vanished, leaving the worn white bedsheet.
  • Peter covered Tyrone’s face, told Tandy they needed to manage her powers, and asked Sassy to call the police.
  • Peter identified himself as Spider-Man to the 911 operator, who accused him of making a prank call.

Ch. 194The Ancient One's Recruitment

Peter comforted Tandy after Tyrone’s death, but the Ancient One arrived and insisted that Tandy needed training to control the Lightforce. The chapter ended with Peter learning that using her healing powers consumed Tandy’s life force.

  • Peter ordered Harry, disguised as the Green Goblin, to search the park for remnants of the shadow entity, then revealed that he disliked Harry’s heroics.
  • Tandy confessed that she had killed Tyrone, and Peter comforted her and promised she would not face the burden alone.
  • The Ancient One emerged from a portal and identified Tandy as a vessel for immense dimensional energy.
  • Peter refused to let the Ancient One take Tandy to Kamar-Taj, but she warned that uncontrolled Lightforce could harm people around her.
  • The Ancient One explained that Tandy’s healing powers consumed her life force and could eventually burn her out.

Ch. 195Saying goodbye to Tandy

Peter sent Tandy Bowen away with the Ancient One after Tyrone’s death, then sought comfort from Jean Grey at Xavier’s School. Two months later, he had begun to move past what happened, though he still could not contact Tandy.

  • Peter warned the Ancient One to protect Tandy and agreed that Tandy should go with her to learn to control her powers.
  • Tandy kissed Peter goodbye, and the Ancient One took her through a portal before the police arrived.
  • After the police questioned him, Peter went to Xavier’s School and told Jean what had happened through fragments of telepathy.
  • Jean comforted Peter and helped him accept that he had tried to do good, and they spent Valentine’s Day together.
  • Two months later, Peter had heard that the Ancient One was giving Tandy rigorous training, but he still could not contact her.

Ch. 196Doom's pardon

Peter failed to find evidence against Roxxon after burying Tyrone, then focused on his research and upgrading his car. He learned that Victor von Doom had been pardoned after signing a peace treaty and agreeing to help S.H.I.E.L.D. with a research project.

  • Peter arranged Tyrone Johnson's cremation and buried his remains between his parents.
  • Peter investigated Roxxon for two weeks but found the warehouse empty and the corporation's trail cold.
  • Peter made progress on unstable molecules and continued attending school while remaining socially isolated.
  • Peter upgraded his car with a force-field system and began installing optical cloaking and faster thrusters.
  • Johnny brought Peter to the living room, where the news reported Doom's pardon and new trade relations for Latveria.
  • Reed told Peter that Doom had agreed to help S.H.I.E.L.D. advance a project Reed had refused to join.

Ch. 197Doom's countersuit

After learning that Doom might return, Peter began preparing a magical and technological counterattack, then found Jennifer Walters advising the Fantastic Four about Doom’s possible lawsuit. Jennifer warned that Doom could sue Reed individually over the incident in the Negative Zone.

  • Peter left the living room and decided to study Doom’s magic and develop a counterattack.
  • Peter asked Sassy to create the Technomancer project and a Spider Tank subproject, then began redesigning Johnny’s sports car with weapons and extradimensional storage.
  • Peter stopped working after nightfall without finishing the car, while his blood toxicity remained at 21%.
  • Peter found Jennifer Walters at the Baxter Foundation, where she had been hired to advise the Fantastic Four about Doom’s legal threats.
  • Jennifer told the group that Doom could not sue the Baxter Foundation as a whole but could sue Reed individually for allegedly exceeding self-defense when he pushed Doom into the portal.

Ch. 198The annoying glider

Peter argued that Spider-Man should take the blame for Doom’s attempted murder charge rather than Reed, then joined Daredevil to raid a weapons gang in the Bronx. Harry Osborn crashed the operation with his glider and bombs, and Peter prepared to teach the reckless rookie a lesson after the fight.

  • Peter convinced Jennifer that security footage could clear Reed by showing Spider-Man kicked Doom into the portal, and Jennifer asked Susan to send the footage to her firm.
  • Peter told Jennifer to reconnect with Bruce, then explained to the Fantastic Four that he was willing to let Spider-Man take the blame to protect Reed.
  • Matt invited Peter to help raid an armed gang’s warehouse, and the two used smoke, darkness, and sprinklers to take down the gang members.
  • Harry Osborn burst into the warehouse on his glider and nearly endangered Peter, Matt, and the criminals with his Pumpkin Bombs.
  • Peter shielded himself from gunfire, incapacitated the gang with electricity through the flooded floor, and helped capture the men.
  • Harry excitedly praised Peter’s powers and offered to handle the police, while Peter decided the reckless rookie needed a lesson.

Ch. 199Gwen Stacy

Peter reprimanded Harry for nearly using lethal Pumpkin Bombs, then agreed to give him a chance to become a hero with safer equipment and better judgment. Back home, Peter was summoned by Gwen Stacy, who said Dr. Curt Connors had vanished after an experiment went wrong.

  • Peter and Matt confronted Harry about his reckless attack, and Matt advised him to assess situations carefully and improve his combat skills.
  • Harry admitted he wanted to become a hero, and Peter gave him a spider shuriken and recommended nonlethal riot-control equipment from Osborn Enterprises.
  • Peter told Matt that he was the former friend Harry had mentioned and warned that Harry could become a terrifying enemy if things went wrong.
  • After returning home, Peter answered an urgent late-night knock and met Gwen Stacy, who asked for Dr. Richard Parker's help.
  • Gwen explained that Dr. Curt Connors's lab had been wrecked and Connors had disappeared after attempting to reproduce a formula he had researched with Richard Parker.

Ch. 200A frenzy of scales (Part one)

Peter accompanied Gwen Stacy to Empire State University after Dr. Connors’s experiment went wrong, and discovered the Lizard had attacked the officers inside. After rescuing the wounded Officer Diaz and calling for help, Peter was ambushed as his Spider-Sense warned him of danger.

  • Gwen Stacy told Peter that the Lizard had wrecked the lab and that Roxxon Corporation had funded Dr. Connors’s experiments.
  • Peter and Gwen reached Empire State University, where Peter spotted the Lizard watching them from an upper-floor window.
  • After hearing a scream, Peter rushed inside and found one officer dead and Officer Diaz badly wounded.
  • Peter treated Officer Diaz’s arm, used the fallen officer’s radio to request an ambulance and SWAT, and asked Sassy to track the Lizard through the surveillance system.
  • Peter reached for his suit, but his Spider-Sense alerted him to danger and he lunged aside.
