The huge Teddy bear was sitting on the floor, trembling with tears. He held a shotgun in his furry paws and stuffed the barrel into his mouth. He looked at the words on the whiteboard, closed his eyes in despair, and pulled the trigger hard.
There was a loud "bang" sound, and the sound of the gunshot was particularly harsh in the quiet house. The bullet penetrated the Teddy bear's head, leaving a big hole in the back of his head. The white stuffing flew everywhere and scattered on the floor.
But a few seconds later, the Teddy bear suddenly opened its eyes again. It looked at its unharmed body, and the hole that was slowly being filled with white fillings, and let out a heart-rending cry, like a trapped beast.
"Why--! Why can't you die!"
The Impala stopped outside Audrey's house. As soon as Dean, Sam and Bai Haorui got out of the car, they heard gunshots and cries from inside the house. Dean immediately took out the gun from his waist and was about to rush in. Bai Haorui grabbed his arm.
"Don't worry, this thing can't die." Bai Haorui said in a calm tone, "It was created by magic. Unless the magic is removed, its existence will not disappear and it will not die. If you rush in now, it will only be used as a target for its venting."
"Then what should I do? Watch it cry inside?" Dean frowned.
"It is just a poor thing that can't die now." Bai Haorui looked at the lighted window on the second floor, with a hint of sigh in his voice, "It was forcibly pulled into this world, and it has become conscious, but it can't find the meaning of existence, and it doesn't even have the right to die."
Dean was stunned for a moment, and the expression on his face suddenly darkened. He looked at the lighted window, a complex emotion flashed in his eyes, as if he had been stabbed by something, and he said nothing. He knew too well the feeling of not being able to die - he was forcibly pulled back to the world from Hell, with blood and trauma all over his body that could not be washed away, and was haunted by nightmares every night.
In the motel late at night, only a desk lamp on the table was on, and the warm yellow light illuminated the spread materials and newspapers. The room was quiet except for the uneven breathing of Dean, and the occasional sound of cars passing by outside the window.
Sam was sitting at the table, still flipping through the town's old newspapers, carefully reading page by page, looking for clues about the first person to make a wish. Dean was lying on the bed next to him, already asleep, but he couldn't sleep He was not at all stable, his brows were furrowed tightly, his forehead was covered with cold sweat, his body twitched from time to time, and he was mumbling indistinct words with fear and pain in his voice. It was obvious that he had dreamed of the scene in Hell again.
Bai Haorui was leaning on the chair by the window, not sleeping. There was a faint hint of golden True Fire lingering around him, and a thin meditation barrier was laid out beside Dean's bed. The faint golden light enveloped Dean, dispelling the evil atmosphere in his nightmares bit by bit, and soothing his tense nerves.
Sam heard Dean's murmur, and immediately stood up and walked over, gently pushing his shoulder. "Dean, wake up!"
Dean opened his eyes suddenly, sat up instantly, and subconsciously reached for the gun under the pillow. His eyes were full of fear and panic, like a frightened beast. It wasn't until he saw clearly that it was Sam and Bai Haorui that he breathed a sigh of relief and put down the gun in his hand, but his body was still shaking slightly.
"What? I'm awake, what's wrong?" His voice was still a little hoarse, deliberately pretending to be nonchalant.
"Did you sleep well?" Sam looked at him with distress in his tone.
"Okay." Dean immediately looked away, reached for the whiskey on the floor at the foot of the bed, unscrewed the lid and took a sip. The liquid slid down his throat, and he calmed down a little. "After getting enough sun and enough rest, you can start working at any time."
"Dean, please, don't you think I can't see it?" Sam frowned, "I have nightmares every night and keep drinking. I am with you 24 hours a day. I know there must be something on your mind. You remember what happened in Hell, right?"
Dean's face instantly darkened, and he suddenly raised his voice, with a trace of exposed annoyance in his tone. "What exactly do you want me to do, ah? What exactly do you want?"
"Tell me the truth, Dean." Sam said in a firm tone, "I am your brother, and my only wish is that you can tell me what you have experienced, and don't bear it alone."
Dean looked at him coldly, twitching the corner of his mouth and showing a sarcastic smile, "You have to be careful when making wishes, don't make wishes you shouldn't make. Hasn't this town taught you enough lessons?"
"You really know how to tell wisecracks." Sam rolled his eyes.
"Please, can you please stop doing this kind of couples counseling, ah?" Dean waved his hand impatiently and forcibly changed the subject, "We still have cases to handle, and there is a mess waiting for us to clean up in the town. I want to work. What did you find out? Can you tell me quickly?"
He picked up the small town newspaper on the table and held it in front of him, avoiding Sam's sight. Sam looked at him escaping and could only sigh helplessly and stopped asking. Bai Haorui leaned against the window, looked at the two of them, and shook his head slightly.
"What we have found so far: Teddy the bear, the guy who won the lottery, the invisible peeping tom, and the little boy with super powers Todd." Sam pointed at the table Sorting through the information on the phone one by one, "They should all have made wishes within the past two weeks. But we don't know who was the first person to make a wish, let alone who else made them, when, or what kind of random wishes they made. We can't prevent it at all."
"It would be easier if they announced it in the newspaper." Dean put down the newspaper, took out this month's small town newspaper, and pointed to one of the news, "I looked through this month's small town newspaper, and there is a news item that matches the timeline."
Sam leaned over to take a look, and saw the newspaper written in bold font, "Wesley Mondale and Miss Hope Lynn Casey announce their engagement."
"Ah, true love, sudden true love." Dean raised his eyebrows.
Sam chuckled, "This is the best clue we have so far. The sudden engagement happened a month ago, which happened to be the time when the coin was activated, which matches the beginning of all wishing events."
This is a cozy single-family house, located on the edge of a small town. There is a small yard in front of the door, with several sunflowers planted. The living room is covered with beige carpets, and a soothing romantic theme song is playing on the TV. The sun shines in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The whole house is warm, but there is an inexplicable depressive atmosphere.
Wes, also known as Wesley, is taking a nap in the armchair in the living room, his head moving slowly. He looks to be in his thirties, with messy light brown curly hair and black stubble. His eyes are always a little timid and evasive. He wears a loose gray sweater and his shoulders are always shrunken unconsciously. At first glance, he is an introvert and has low self-esteem.
Brisk footsteps came from the kitchen, and Hope walked out with a plate of freshly roasted roast chicken. She was very beautiful, with dazzling long golden curly hair, and skin as fair as a porcelain doll. The ends of her eyes were slightly upturned, and she had two shallow smiles. Liwu is tall and slender, wearing a white dress with an extremely thin waistline, outlining smooth curves. Her eyes are full of love for Wes, so thick that it can hardly be melted away, like a puddle of honey, wrapping her whole body in it.
Bai Haorui, Sam and Dean were standing outside the door. Bai Haorui and Spiritual Sense had already quietly swept across the room. The two of them shook their heads and lowered their voices. "Hope has no soul breath of his own. His soul is forcibly bound to Wes's wish by magic. He is a completely distorted puppet with no self."
"Wes, are you asleep?" Hope put the plate on the coffee table in front of him, and his tone was so gentle that it could make water drop.
Wes woke up suddenly and rubbed his eyes. "Huh? Oh, uh, no, no, no. I just, um, I just closed my eyes for a while and took a rest."
Hope chuckled, sat on the carpet next to him, looked up at him, his eyes full of admiration. "I thought you might want to eat something."
"Oh. Wow, Hope, you don't have to go out of your way to do this for me. It's too much trouble." Wes's expression was a little uncomfortable and full of guilt.
"I'm willing to do it." Hope shook his head and reached out to hold his hand, "Okay, no, I... I have to do it. Because I love you more than anything, my dear."
"Okay. Well, Hope, would you like to sit down? Let's talk."
"Okay, Wes." She immediately sat on the carpet next to him obediently, like an obedient puppy, looking up at him, with only him in her eyes.
"Well...Hope, uh, are you happy?" Wes looked at her and said cautiously, "Are you really happy to be with me?"
"I love you more than anything." Hope blurted out without even thinking.
"I know, I know. I love you too, very, very much." Wes said with a bit of pain in his tone, "It's because I love you that I hope you can do those things... those things that made you happy before, do what you want to do, and you don't have to revolve around me or think about me all the time."
"Okay, Wes, I will try my best to be happier. I'll start now." Hope nodded immediately and was about to get up.
"No, no, no, that's not what I meant." Wes quickly grabbed her, "I mean--"
Hope's eyes suddenly turned red, his voice was choked, and with deep panic, he grabbed his hand tightly, and his nails were almost embedded in his flesh. "Oh, Wes, please. Please don't be angry with me. You know, if you are angry with me, I will die, I really will die, I will die!"
Wes panicked immediately, held her hand with his backhand, and quickly comforted her, "No, no, no, don't - I'm not angry, I really am not angry! No, I just want to talk to you, baby, don't cry."
The doorbell rang suddenly, interrupting their conversation.
Hope's eyes lit up instantly, and the tears on her face were instantly put back. She stood up with a smile, "I'll open the door." She opened the door and said a few words, then turned back and smiled at Wes with a happy face, "Wes! You didn't even tell me that you called a florist for our wedding!"
Hope opened the door and led Sam, Dean and Bai Haorui in. All three of them were wearing suits and holding forged documents with serious expressions. Bai Haorui followed behind and closed the door. Spiritual Sense locked the entire room firmly to prevent any accidents.
Wes was stunned for a moment. "Huh?"
"You're the best! Yeah! Ah! I'm going to get my wedding planning book and I'll be back soon." Hope jumped up and ran upstairs.
Wes:"Uh, okay... ok."
Hope's footsteps disappeared at the end of the stairs. Wes looked at Sam, Dean and Bai Haorui, with confused and wary expressions on their faces, and their bodies tensed up.
"Wesley, how have you been lately?" Dean crossed his arms and looked at him.
"Just call me Wes... Si." Wes scratched his head, "Aren't you the two people from the Health Bureau last time?"
"Yes, I'm a part-time florist by the way." Sam nodded.
"At the same time, he is from Federal Bureau of Investigation." Dean raised his eyebrows, "Every Thursday, we still have Dr. Teddy."
Wes's expression became even more confused. "Ah? Who are you?"
"It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is what we know." Dean's expression instantly became serious.
Sam took a step forward and spoke in a gentle but oppressive tone, "So, Wes, you are a coin collector, right?"
"Oh, yes. They are all my... grandfather's collection." Wes's eyes instantly dodge.
"Did you lose one of the special ancient coins recently?" Dean stared at him and said word by word, "When I say 'lost', I mean you threw it into Lucky Chin's Chinese Restaurant's wishing well and made a wish on it, right?"
Wes's face changed instantly, his body was shaking slightly, his eyes were evasive, and he was stuttering when he spoke, "No, I--I don't know what you are, uh, talking about."
There were footsteps on the stairs, and Hope ran down with a pile of folders and wedding planning notebooks in his arms, his face full of excitement.
"Okay. I have a lot of wedding ideas, but, you know, we are not rich. Wes is currently out of work, but that's okay, so he can spend more time with me." Hope smiled and sat next to Wes and said to the three of them, "You know, I want something like Japanese flower arrangement, fresh and romantic."
"Well, I can imagine it, it must be very beautiful." Dean nodded in agreement.
"Yes. So, Hope, tell us, how did you two lovers meet? We are doing a wedding background check and need to record it." Sam showed a gentle smile to her.
"Oh, the best day of my life." Hope sighed, his eyes full of love, looking at Wes as if he were looking at the whole world, "It's very interesting to say. We both grew up in this small town and lived not far away, but I didn't know who he was before. I had never even heard of his name. Until one day last month, I saw him on the street, and it was like..." She sighed softly, and her whole body softened. "Suddenly I saw him clearly for the first time. His whole body was... glowing. Oh, his whole body was glowing. I fell in love with him instantly, and I couldn't help but fall in love with him."
Wes's face was full of guilt and discomfort, and he quickly interrupted her, "Uh, honey, can you - can you make us some coffee?"
"Okay, no problem." Hope nodded immediately and stood up.
She came close to Wes, held his face, and kissed him repeatedly, over and over again, kissing him for more than ten times before stopping, each time with deep love.
Wes was so uncomfortable being kissed by her that he could only respond stiffly, "Oh. Okay, okay. Well. Okay. Oh, okay. Oh, um, okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay."
Hope smiled and turned to the kitchen. The kitchen door was not closed tightly. She stood in front of the refrigerator, listening to Wes's voice in the living room. The smile on her face slowly disappeared, and a trace of paranoid madness flashed in her eyes.
In the living room, Wes finally collapsed. He covered his face with his hands, his shoulders were shaking slightly, and his voice was crying, "I... my grandfather found this coin when North Africa was fighting, during World War II. Then, he brought it back. He, well, he told me before he died., this is a coin that can really make wishes, but it has a curse and no one can use it. Well... after he passed away, I only had this coin. I was unemployed, living alone in this house with nothing, not even anyone to talk to, so I thought, 'Well, you know what? Why not try it with this coin?'"
"So you made a wish to make the girl in this town who you have had a crush on for many years fall madly in love with you, right?" Dean looked at him, there was no mockery in his tone, only understanding.
Wes nodded, covered his face, and tears flowed from his fingers. "I didn't expect it to be like this. She has no life of her own now. All she thinks about is me, like a soulless puppet. I regret it, I really regret it. This is not love at all, I imprisoned her."
"We really want you to come with us, right now." Sam looked at him with a serious tone, "Only you can stop this. If it's any later, people will be killed in this town."
On the streets of the small town, a large group of residents gathered to watch the excitement, pointing and talking in the middle of the road.
Todd Standing in the middle of the road is the thin little boy who was chased by the bully boy before. His eyes are fierce now, and there is a fierceness all over his body. He is holding the front of a car with both hands. It was shaking wildly. The car made a clanging noise as he shook it, the body of the car was deformed, and the window glass was shattered all over the floor. The three bully boys who had bullied him before were huddled in the car, screaming and crying in fear, unable to even speak.
"Stop! Please stop shaking! We were wrong! We won't dare anymore!"
Dean was driving an Impala and happened to pass by here. When he saw this scene, he immediately stepped on the brakes and parked the car on the side of the road. Bai Haorui was sitting in the back seat, looking at Todd who was out of control. The golden True Fire on his fingertips jumped slightly, ready to take action at any time.
"Okay! Haorui and I will deal with this crazy kid. You take Wes to Lucky Chin's Restaurant and ask him to take out the coins, quickly!" Dean immediately said to Sam, his tone urgent.
"Okay." Sam nodded immediately, changed places with Wes, sat in the driver's seat, started the car, and sped away in the direction of the Chinese restaurant with Wes.
Dean pushed the door open and walked towards Todd, raising his hands to show that he had no ill intentions. Bai Haorui also got out of the car and leaned against the lamppost on the side of the road without stepping forward. Just a transparent True Fire barrier was secretly set up to keep out the surrounding residents who were watching the fun, to prevent Todd from accidentally hurting people. The barrier only had a faint golden light and could not be seen by ordinary people.
"Hey, kid! Can I have a word with you?" Dean shouted to Todd.
Todd stopped and shook the car, turned his head, and looked at Dean fiercely, like an angry little wolf. "Get out of here! Don't meddle in other people's business!"
"Okay. Hey, I understand, Todd. Your name is Todd, right?" Dean slowly took two steps forward with a gentle tone, "Listen, I know what's going on. Okay? You've had enough of these bastards bullying you every day, right?"
"Bullying me every day! It's like this every day!" Todd's eyes were red, and there was a cry in his voice, and he was full of grievance, "You don't know what it feels like! Going to school every day is like bullying Hell! They snatched my lunch, tore up my homework, and locked me in the locker!"
"Yes, I have never experienced your life. But you are you and I am me, so--" Dean chuckled, trying to lighten the atmosphere.
Before he could finish his words, Todd punched him in the face. Dean flew out and fell heavily into the large trash can on the roadside. The garbage was scattered all over him, making him miserable.
Bai Haorui stood up straight in an instant and was about to rush over, but Dean stuck his head out of the trash can and waved his hand at him, signaling him not to do anything. He could handle it.
"Oh!" Dean climbed out of the trash can, grinning in pain, wiped the garbage on his face, and cursed.
Sam drove the car and stopped suddenly in front of the Chinese restaurant, pulling Wes, who was in shock, out of the car.
Wes looked at the chaotic crowd on the street, his face turned pale and his voice was trembling. "Then... that... that kid overturned the car, just like... playing with a cardboard box. What the hell is this?"
"You should really see that Teddy bear who just wants to commit suicide." Sam pulled him and walked to the restaurant, "Okay, let's go. The joke is over. If it continues, I don't know how many lives will be lost in this town. Now follow me in and take out the coins from the pool. Wes!"
Wes suddenly stopped, threw away Sam's hand, shouted at him with red eyes, completely out of control. "Why can't we just let everyone get what they want?! I finally got the person I love, that little boy no longer has to be bullied, and the lottery winner finally doesn't have to be poor for the rest of his life! What's wrong with this?"
"Because it's not real, Wes." Sam looked at him with a serious and firm tone, "This is life. In life, there are always things that you don't want, regrets, and pain. What you forcefully distort with magic will only end up being the opposite. Eat yourself and everyone else. You thought you gave Hope love, but you took away her self; you thought Todd gained power, but he is becoming the kind of person you hate most. This is not a wish coming true at all, this is a curse."
As soon as Sam finished speaking, a dazzling lightning suddenly flashed in the sky, followed by a loud thunder. A thick bolt of lightning struck straight down, hitting Sam in the chest.
Sam didn't even hum, and fell directly to the ground. The clothes on his chest were burned black, his skin was cracked, his breathing and heartbeat were gone, and he died on the spot.
"No!" Wes was so frightened that his face turned pale and he screamed.
He glanced at Sam who was lying on the ground, then at the door of the restaurant, turned around and rushed into the Chinese restaurant like crazy.
Just as the lightning struck down, Bai Haorui arrived. He saw Sam falling to the ground, his pupils shrank suddenly, and he rushed over in an instant, kneeling on one knee, and the Pure Yang True Fire from his fingertips rushed into Sam's body.
He used True Fire, the origin of "Three Altars Body-Refining True Fire Art", to lock Sam's soul body that was about to disperse in his body. The golden fire between his eyebrows was so bright that it was dazzling. The golden True Fire was like a net, tightly wrapping Sam's soul body, preventing it from falling apart in the slightest.
"Sam! Hold on!!" His voice was trembling, but extremely firm.
There was no one in the restaurant except Hope, standing in front of the dry wishing fountain, with his back to the door, holding the bronze coin in his hand, his fingertips turning white from exertion.
Wes rushed in and when he saw her back, he stopped instantly and his voice trembled. "Hope?"
Hope turned around slowly, with no expression on his face and a paranoid madness in his eyes.
"I have to do this, right?" Her voice was very soft, but with a biting chill, "He wants to force you to make a wish, destroy our love, and destroy everything about us. I can't let him do this. I can't lose you, Wes."
"You made a wish to kill him?" Wes's body was trembling, "You just made a wish to let lightning strike that man to death?"
Hope took a step forward, reached out to touch his face, and his tone returned to the gentleness before, even with a deep sense of grievance. "I love you more than anything. As long as it can make you happy, as long as you can stay by my side, I will do anything. Even if it means killing someone, even if it means laying Hell, I will do it."
Wes took a step back suddenly, dodged her hand, finally collapsed, and yelled at her, his voice breaking. "Stop saying this! Stop saying it!"
Hope's tears fell instantly, and his voice was choked, like an abandoned child. "But I really love you. More than anything else, more than myself, more than my life. Oh, Wes, don't hate me. It will be fine. I will handle everything. As long as we are together, everything will be fine."
Wes looked at her face full of tears, and then looked at the ancient coin embedded in the bottom of the wishing pool, and finally made up his mind. He rushed over, squatted in the wishing pool, reached out and grabbed the coin that Dean couldn't pry with a hammer before.
This time, he picked up the coin easily.
The moment the coin left the bottom of the pool, a faint white light flashed through, spreading out like a wave of water and sweeping across the entire town. All the wishes that had been fulfilled by magic in the entire town were reversed in an instant--
On the street, Todd suddenly lost all his superpowers. He lost his grip and could no longer hold on to the front of the car. He staggered back a few steps and turned back into the thin little boy;
Outside the Chinese restaurant, Sam suddenly opened his eyes and coughed violently. The burn on his chest disappeared instantly, his breathing and heartbeat returned to normal, and he gasped for air;
In the bedroom of Audrey's house, the huge Teddy bear disappeared instantly, leaving only a normal-sized brown plush Teddy bear, which fell on the floor with a small hole in its head;
In a small town bank, the man who won the lottery instantly turned the lottery ticket into a piece of waste paper, and the bank staff looked at him with a wary expression;
At the neighbor's house across the street, Audrey's parents suddenly appeared in the living room, still wearing holiday clothes, tanned and confused, not knowing why they suddenly appeared here.
Bai Haorui watched Sam wake up, finally breathed a sigh of relief, took back True Fire that was protecting his soul, and helped Sam to sit up.
"It's okay, Sam. Just wake up."
Sam coughed a few times and looked at his intact chest with a confused look on his face. "I... didn't I die just now?"
"Wes took out the coin, and all his wishes were reversed." Bai Haorui handed him a bottle of water, "I used True Fire to protect your soul and prevent it from dissipating. You are destined to be lucky."
Dean got up from the ground, looked at Todd, who had a confused look on his face and had transformed back into the thin little boy, and then looked at the three bully boys in the car next to him who were trembling with fear, and immediately had an idea.
"Okay, Todd, listen to me and cooperate with me, and you won't have any trouble in the future. Come here." Dean waved to Todd.
Todd was stunned for a moment and walked over obediently.
Dean walked up to Todd and suddenly looked very scared. He backed away repeatedly and raised his hands in surrender. His voice was full of "fear": "Okay, brother, stop fighting! Stop fighting, okay? I was wrong! I won't dare to mess with you anymore!"
He turned to look at the three bully boys in the car and shouted in horror, "If it were me, I would never mess with this kid again in my life! You have no idea how capable he is! He can punch through the car with one punch, you guys are nothing!"
The three bully boys looked at Todd and nodded in fear, almost crying, "We don't dare anymore! I'm sorry! We were wrong! Don't come here!"
Dean raised his eyebrows at Todd. Todd was stunned for a moment, then showed a relieved smile, and his tense shoulders finally relaxed.
Wes held the coin in his hand, looked at Hope standing in front of him, and called her name with a trembling voice, "Hope."
Hope looked at him, the tenderness and love on her face disappeared in an instant, and was replaced by a look of confusion and strangeness, just like when she saw him for the first time. She frowned and took a step back, her eyes full of vigilance and doubts. "Do we know each other? Who are you? Why are you in my restaurant?"
Wes opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but no words came out, so she could only look at her.
Hope frowned, took a step back, turned around and walked out of the restaurant quickly, never looking back, like running away from a strange stranger.
Wes stood in the empty restaurant, looking at her back, holding the cold coin in his hand, and finally couldn't help it, squatting on the ground, covering his face and crying, crying heartbreakingly. He was finally free, but he also returned to the original loneliness.
Sam has stood up from the ground, and his body has completely returned to normal. Wes walked out of the restaurant, dejected and with red eyes. He handed the bronze coin in his hand to Sam. Without saying anything, he turned around and walked away slowly, his back as lonely as a shadow.
On a clear day, the wind blows gently by the lake, carrying the moisture of the lake and the smell of grass. The sun shines on the water, glowing with fine golden light.
Dean was leaning on the front of the Impala, with a new small town newspaper spread out in his hand. The headline on the front page read in bold font, "The winning lottery ticket was forged, and the man was investigated for fraud." He looked at the newspaper, sighed softly, and said nothing.
On the lakeside trail not far away, Audrey was walking by holding the hands of her parents. Her parents were tanned and looked like they had just returned from a tropical vacation, with relaxed smiles on their faces. Audrey was holding a small baby in her arms. A normal-sized brown Teddy bear with a small hole on its head and a pink band-aid on it. She was jumping around and smiling so happily that she had long forgotten about the desperate giant Teddy bear before.
Bai Haorui leaned on the other side of the Impala, playing with the Babylon coin in his hand. A wisp of golden Pure Yang True Fire. True Fire slowly wrapped around the fingertips. The black magic curse on the coin was melted away bit by bit, and the black evil energy on the coin was purified bit by bit by True Fire, making a sizzling sound. Finally, the entire coin was melted into a puddle of molten iron, and the chaos curse inside was completely destroyed, and it could no longer harm anyone.
"Okay, we shouldn't cause any more trouble." Bai Haorui threw the molten iron into the lake and clapped his hands.
"Audrey's parents are back from Bali. The invisible boy can no longer be invisible. Todd has turned back into an ordinary kid. The guy who won the lottery has lost his money." Dean threw the newspaper on the front of the car. "It seems that all wishes have disappeared and everything is back on track. It's time for us to leave."
The two opened the car door and were about to get in the car when Dean suddenly stopped and put his hand on the car door without moving.
"Wait a minute."
Sam turned around and looked at him. "What's wrong?"
Dean took a deep breath, turned around, and looked at Sam seriously. His eyes no longer had the escape and avoidance before, only full of exhaustion and pain, as if he had taken off a mask he had worn for a long time.
"You're right."
Sam was stunned for a moment. "About what?"
"I shouldn't have lied to you." Dean's voice was very soft, but extremely firm, saying word by word, "I remember everything that happened in Hell. Everything, every minute and every second, I remember clearly."
Sam froze on the spot, then showed a distressed expression, took a step forward, and softened his voice. "Then tell me, Dean, tell me what you have been through."
Dean immediately shook his head and said firmly, "No."
Sam was stunned for a moment. "Uh..."
"I will never lie to you again or tell you that I don't remember." Dean looked at him with a hint of pleading in his eyes, "But I will never tell you these things, never."
"Dean, listen, you can't handle these things alone." Sam's tone was anxious, "Hell's experiences are not something you can handle alone. You have to let me help you."
"How can you help?" Dean twitched the corner of his mouth and gave a bitter smile, "Do you really think that if we talk to each other from the bottom of our hearts and express our concern for each other, we can change anything? Ah? Can you... cure me? Sam, I'm not talking about having a bad day, losing my job, or having a fight with someone."
"I know, I know how scary that is."
"No, you don't know." Dean's voice became hoarse, "The things I saw... the things I experienced, can't be described in words. They can't be forgotten, and they can't make up for it. Because these things are engraved here..." He raised his hand and tapped his temple with his knuckles, with deep pain in his voice, "I can't erase it for the rest of my life. You won't understand, and I will never be able to make you understand. So, I'm sorry."
After Dean finished speaking, he opened the car door, sat in the driver's seat, and said no more. Sam stood there, looking at his back, and finally could only sigh helplessly, opened the passenger door and got in.
Bai Haorui opened the back seat door and got in. He didn't speak the whole time. He just stretched out his hand and patted Dean's seat back, silently telling him that he was not carrying it alone.
The black Chevrolet Impala started up, its tires ran over the ground, making a slight sound, and slowly drove away from the town. The scenery outside the car window slowly receded, and the houses, trees, and lakes in the town gradually disappeared in the rearview mirror.
