"Did you see that?" Dean sneered, "His affairs are always more urgent than ours."

Samuel didn't seem to hear his taunt, and stood up and picked up the coat on the wall. "Okay, you guys have come all the way, don't run away in vain. We happened to have locked Alpha Vampire's lair, Operation Dawn. If you are willing, come together."

Dean and Sam looked at each other and saw "that's what they meant" in each other's eyes.

"Okay." Dean nodded, smiling deliberately, "Just right, I also want to meet this Alpha."

Samuel looked at him deeply, as if trying to read something from his face, and finally just nodded. "Okay. Go down and get ready, Christian, and take them to pick out equipment."

The three of them followed Christian out of the office. In the corridor, Dean deliberately slowed down and fell behind. He lowered his voice and said to Bai Haorui, "What do you think? He is definitely hiding something from us."

"Hmm." Bai Haorui nodded slightly and spoke in a very low voice, "There is a contract in his soul, signed with Crowley. Catching monsters must be for Crowley. The specific reason is not clear yet."

"It is indeed Crowley..." Dean gritted his teeth, "This old fox can stretch his hands long enough."

"Don't alert him yet." Bai Haorui said calmly, "Let's see what he wants to do. If you follow him, you'll always find something wrong."

The three of them walked to the weapons rack. Christian threw a salt bullet gun to Dean, with a slightly provocative tone. "Take it, don't hold back when the time comes."

Dean caught the gun, sneered and ignored him. He turned to look at Gwen, who was standing next to her cleaning a silver dagger. When he saw Dean looking over, he smiled and said a little apologetically, "Don't be like Christian, he has such a temper."

"It's okay, I've seen worse ones." Dean shrugged and asked casually, "By the way, Samuel was like this before? Catch the monster alive for interrogation?"

Gwen was stunned for a moment, shook his head, and lowered his voice. "It wasn't like this before. Ever since... since he came back, he has changed. He is hiding everything, and his temper is getting weirder and weirder." She paused, with a bit of regret in her eyes, "Sometimes I feel that he is not like his old self anymore, as if something is forcing him to do these things."

He turned to look at Bai Haorui, who nodded slightly.

Dean felt complicated. If this is really the case, then Samuel...

It's all for my family, I just chose the wrong path.

But when I think of him using Sam as a chess piece and human life as a bargaining chip, I feel angry again.

"Don't think too much." Bai Haorui whispered, "It's not certain yet. Let's see what happens tonight."

Dean nodded, suppressed his thoughts, lowered his head to check the gun in his hand. But the doubt in his heart sprouted like a seed.

Family, family.

What exactly is a family? Do you have to protect each other at all costs, or do you push the younger ones out to be pawns for your own obsession?

At dawn, the group set out.

The morning fog has not yet dispersed, and it is bitingly cold in the woods. The dew has wetted the trousers, and the cold air has penetrated directly into the seams of Bones.

More than a dozen hunters spread out in a fan-shaped pattern and walked towards the abandoned farmhouse deep in the woods. The cat's steps were as light as a cat's, not even stepping on a few leaves.

Samuel walked in front, raising his hand to signal everyone to stop. He squatted behind the bushes, pointed at the abandoned farmhouse not far away, and lowered his voice to assign tasks. His tone was crisp and clear. "The house is right in front. There are about a dozen vampires inside, as well as Alpha. Remember, try to catch as many people as possible alive, really. No more killing. Christian, take three people to go around from the side and block the back door. Sam, follow me through the main entrance. Dean, you and Gwen, Mr. Bai, stay behind and guard the front intersection, don't let the fish that escapes escape."

Dean frowned.

Queen?

I made it clear that I didn't want them to see what was going on inside, and I didn't want them to get involved in capturing Alpha alive.

Just as he was about to retort, Bai Haorui touched his arm lightly and shook his head slightly.

Dean swallowed the words abruptly, twitched the corners of his lips, and said in a mocking tone, "Okay, sir. I promise not even a fly will fly out."

Samuel took a deep look at him, said nothing, waved his hand, and moved forward with Sam and the others.

After everyone had gone away, Gwen leaned against the tree and sighed, a little apologetically. "I'm sorry. Samuel... That's how he is, he takes everything into his own hands."

"It's okay." Dean shrugged, staring in the direction of the farmhouse, and said absently, "Anyway, we can see it later."

Gwen was stunned for a moment, not understanding what he meant. Bai Haorui stood beside him, folding his arms, closing his eyes and concentrating, but Divine Sense firmly locked onto the movement in the farmhouse. The sounds of fighting, screams, and glass breaking inside were clearly transmitted into his mind.

"Here we go." Bai Haorui said calmly.

As soon as he finished speaking, a series of gunshots and the roar of a vampire came from the farmhouse.

Dean stood on tiptoe and looked over there, and could only see the shaking figure in the window and the splashing blood.

"No, I have to go over and have a look." Dean couldn't hold it in any longer, and said to Gwen, "Wait for me here." He bent down and used the cover of the bushes to touch over there. Bai Haorui followed closely behind, his footsteps as light as a gust of wind, and he didn't even shake the grass blades a few times.

The two walked around to the back door of the farmhouse and saw the door open. Sam and Samuel walked out holding a man on their left and right.

The man's face was as pale as paper, his mouth was stained with blood, and his eyes were as fierce as a beast. He was none other than Alpha Vampire. He was tied tightly with thick hemp ropes, with a cloth stuffed in his mouth. He struggled constantly, but was held down by two people, unable to move, and stuffed directly into the back compartment of a white van.

With a "clang", the rear compartment door was closed and locked. Samuel whispered a few instructions to Christian. Christian nodded, jumped into the driver's seat, started the truck, and drove away quietly.

Dean immediately retracted his body and hid behind the wall, his brows knitted into knots.

Capture alive, really capture alive.

It's not as simple as interrogating information. Alpha who Samuel spent so much effort to capture alive is definitely for Crowley.

What made his heart even more chilling was that Sam participated in the whole process, and his movements were very skillful. It was obviously not the first time. He even nodded to Samuel, with no discomfort in his eyes.

Bai Haorui stood next to him, his eyes calm.

He had expected it a long time ago. People with incomplete souls would have a weaker and weaker sense of morality. They would only look at the pros and cons of doing things, not what is right or wrong.

Sam now feels that capturing Alpha alive can bring clues and find his soul, so he will do it without hesitation, without even thinking about whether it is right or not too cruel.

The two quietly retreated, and as soon as they returned to Gwen, Sam and Samuel walked out, with some blood stains on their faces and expressions as natural as if nothing happened.

"Done?" Dean asked pretending to be calm, staring at Sam's face.

"It's done." Sam nodded, stretched out his hand to wipe the blood on his cheek, "Everything inside has been solved, and no one has escaped."

"Where is Alpha? I still want to send him on his last journey." Dean twitched the corner of his mouth, his tone a little sarcastic.

"The fire has been set up and burned." Samuel answered casually, without blushing or heart beating, "The corpses have been burned to ashes, don't worry."

Dean looked at his calm expression, and his heart surged.

Lie.

Lie without blushing and without a beating heart.

Grandfather and grandson both share the same virtue.

He didn't poke it, he just nodded and said "Oh".

What will happen if it is punctured? Fall out on the spot? Whether it can be beaten is another matter. If you scare the snake, nothing will be found.

On the way back, Dean didn't speak.

The woods outside the car window receded rapidly, and the morning light shone on his face, half bright and half dark. His heart was in a mess, as if he had been scratched by a cat's paws.

Returning to the temporary camp at night, the campfire crackled and sparks floated upward, illuminating the faces of the people around them.

Everyone else went to rest. Dean pulled Sam aside, away from the crowd, and walked to the edge of the woods.

The night breeze was cool, making the leaves rustle.

"You have nothing to tell me about what happened during the day?" Dean spoke first, his voice was very low, with suppressed anger.

"What happened?" Sam looked calm and his eyes were as open as if nothing really happened.

"I saw you carry Alpha into the car, Sam." Dean's voice became deeper, "Capture him alive, Samuel wants to give him to Crowley, right?"

Sam's expression stiffened for a moment, then returned to calm, and sighed softly, "Oh. You shouldn't have known."

"What shouldn't you know?" Dean took a step forward, his chest heaving violently, "Why are you hiding it from me? Are you afraid that I will spoil your good deeds?"

"It's what Samuel has been doing." Sam paused, and his tone was as calm as stating an insignificant matter, "Catch the monster, interrogate Purgatory's location, and give Crowley a job. Change clues and find my soul."

"So you agreed?" Dean looked at him in disbelief, "Capturing monsters alive, interrogating them under torture, making deals with demons... Do you think these are all okay? Sam, we are hunters!"

"Is there any other way?" Sam asked with calm eyes, "If you don't do this, how can you find the soul? By praying? By Castiel? Is it useful?"

Dean was stunned by the question and opened his mouth, but couldn't answer.

There really was no other way, but he just felt something was wrong. He couldn't tell what was wrong, but he just felt panicked.

"Even if you have to do this, you should tell me!" Dean's voice was a little aggrieved, "I am your brother! You hide everything from me and treat me like a fool?"

"So what if I tell you?" Sam shook his head, "You will definitely disagree, and you will definitely stir up trouble. Dean, you always shoot first and then ask questions, but we need a chance to ask questions now. I have no choice."

"No choice?" Dean laughed, angry and sad, "So you just treat me as a fool? You look at me like an idiot, and you're still worried about you?"

Sam didn't say anything, just looked at him with no emotion in his eyes, as if he was looking at an unreasonable child.

The look in his eyes was so unfamiliar that it made Dean's heart throb.
