The president's office.

Hearing a knock, Ji Yaoguang said without looking up, "Come in."

A handsome young man in a suit stepped inside and smiled. "President Ji, busy?"

Ji Yaoguang paused, then looked up with a smile. "General Manager Han, have a seat. What brings you here?"

Han Enci was the Ji Group's general manager. His grandfather had been the foremost shareholder when Ji Zhongjin was building his empire and held tremendous sway on the board. With the backing of his own people on the board, Han Enci had secured this position at just twenty-six.

Han Enci sat opposite Ji Yaoguang and said cheerfully, "Nothing much. I just wanted to invite you to dinner. Would you do me the honor, President Ji?"

As he spoke, he quietly rested his hand on the back of Ji Yaoguang's fair hand.

Ji Yaoguang's expression turned frosty. She withdrew her hand without a fuss and declined politely. "I'm afraid not. I have something to do tonight."

As a fellow senior executive, Ji Yaoguang knew Han Enci all too well.

He was a textbook spoiled rich kid. His frequent visits to houses of pleasure aside, his fondness for playing with women bordered on obsession. Few of the company's pretty young female employees had escaped his claws.

Countless women had been plied with alcohol so he could take advantage of them.

Dinner with him? That was no different from sending a lamb into a tiger's jaws.

"Tomorrow, then." Han Enci seemed entirely undeterred and spoke with a smile.

Displeasure stirred in Ji Yaoguang's heart. She had clearly refused him already. Why did he insist on pestering her?

"Sorry, I'm not free tomorrow either." Ji Yaoguang's tone grew even colder.

"That's fine. I'll wait until you're free. Just name a time, President Ji." Han Enci chuckled, but a sharp glint flashed deep in his eyes.

Ji Yaoguang took a deep breath, barely able to contain her anger.

If not for his influential position in the company, she would certainly have lost her temper and told him to get out.

Just then, another knock sounded at the door.

Given a way out, Ji Yaoguang felt a flicker of delight, though she maintained her outward composure. "Come in."

Han Enci frowned and looked toward the door in displeasure.

The people who entered were none other than Lin Fei and Wu Moling.

Both Ji Yaoguang and Han Enci froze briefly at the sight of Lin Fei.

"Who is he?" Han Enci frowned.

Wu Moling explained, "His name is Lin Fei. He's my mas-"

The word "master" almost slipped out. Wu Moling changed course with extreme awkwardness. "My main friend."

Han Enci sneered and demanded aggressively, "What department are you in? What's your position? Why aren't you wearing your employee badge during working hours?"

Lin Fei ignored him completely and smiled at Ji Yaoguang. "Want to have dinner after work?"

"Huh?" Unable to react for a moment, Ji Yaoguang blinked her clear, limpid eyes, her face full of confusion.

Are we... that close?

Han Enci flared up and glared fiercely at Lin Fei. "Are you deaf? Can't you hear me talking to you?"

Lin Fei could not even be bothered to glance at him. "Where did this fly come from, buzzing in my ear nonstop?"

"You-" Han Enci was furious.

Who the fuck is this? Does he know who I am? What gives him the right to talk to me like that?

Seeing Han Enci's livid face, Ji Yaoguang let a faint smile touch her lips. "Moling, is your friend an employee here? Won't you introduce him?"

"Well..." Wu Moling was torn, unsure how to introduce him.

Celestial Venerable of Ten Thousand Sages? Chaos Emperor Lord? Heavenly Emperor Lin?

If she said that, she would certainly be taken for a lunatic.

"What, is he so important that you have to keep it secret?" Han Enci said coldly.

Lin Fei smiled faintly and said indifferently, "You don't deserve to know."

Han Enci drew a deep breath, already itching to curse, and laughed in anger.

Fuck, hiding who you are, yet you still dare act cocky in front of me?

"Wu Moling, the company has rules. Unless you have permission from the highest management, you can't bring outsiders into the building. Surely you know that?"

"What if some criminal sneaks in and something like President Ji's poisoning happens again?"

"Can you take responsibility for that?" Han Enci pressed with a sneer.

"I..." Wu Moling was momentarily at a loss for words.

Ji Yaoguang frowned and immediately said coldly, "I asked him to come up."

Han Enci chuckled. "President Ji, don't cover for them. You just asked Wu Moling to introduce him. You clearly don't know him at all."

"I'm not making a mountain out of a molehill. How can we be careless about something like this? I even suspect that Wu Moling conspired with him to sneak in and administer poison!"

Ji Yaoguang's heart jolted, and her gaze toward Lin Fei grew somewhat hostile.

She did not suspect Wu Moling, but she was indeed wary of Lin Fei, who had appeared out of nowhere. What if he was exploiting Wu Moling's trust to get close to her with ill intentions?

Seeing the change in her expression, Han Enci immediately smiled smugly.

"I'll give you three seconds to get the hell out of my sight." Lin Fei folded his arms across his chest and leaned against the wall.

The smile gradually vanished from Han Enci's face.

Motherfucker!

Motherfucker, motherfucker!

Does this guy not understand the situation? I've cornered him like this, and he still dares shoot his mouth off at me?

Who the fuck are you trying to impress?

Han Enci truly could not understand where Lin Fei's confidence came from. He immediately shouted, "Bodyguards!"

At his call, two bodyguards hurried over from the general manager's office next door. "General Manager Han, what is it?"

Han Enci sneered and ordered without hesitation, "Drag this intruder downstairs and throw him out of the company. Then notify the police and have them thoroughly investigate what he's up to."

With the Han family's police connections, he could certainly make Lin Fei suffer the consequences.

"Yes!" Hearing this, the two bodyguards immediately charged Lin Fei from either side and attacked ferociously.

"Get lost!" Lin Fei barked coldly, instantly sweeping out a flying kick.

Smack!

The two bodyguards, each weighing roughly 180 to 200 pounds, were swept off their feet and slammed hard into the wall.

With a thud, both bodyguards fell to the floor, their eyes rolling back as they passed out on the spot.

Wu Moling was not the least bit surprised.

Ji Yaoguang and Han Enci, however, were stunned. They had not even seen how Lin Fei struck.

Before Han Enci could react, Lin Fei had straightened and stepped forward, landing a vicious slap across his face with a smack.

"Aah!"

Han Enci screamed, his entire body spinning almost half a turn from the slap.

Half his face immediately swelled, and blood seeped from his nose and the corner of his mouth.

Ji Yaoguang's beautiful eyes widened as she watched in disbelief.

He just slapped Han Enci, just like that?!

Still... that felt pretty good!

At least he had done what Ji Yaoguang had always wanted to do.

Clutching half his face, Han Enci stared at Lin Fei in shock and fury. "You fucking dare hit me?!"

"No shit." Before Lin Fei had even finished speaking, he kicked again.

Han Enci fell beside the wall with a thump and retched up a mouthful of stomach acid mixed with food scraps.

Stomach acid splattered all over his expensive suit, leaving him looking utterly disheveled and disgusting.

On the verge of losing his mind, Han Enci roared himself hoarse. "You're fucking dead!"

"Wu Moling, you're finished too!"

"I'm calling Uncle Ji! Neither of you is getting away!"

Lin Fei smiled faintly and looked down at him as though regarding a dead dog. "Oh? Perfect. I wanted to call Ji Chongwei too. What exactly does he mean by keeping a stray dog in the company?"

With that, Lin Fei casually flung the purple-and-gold business card as though throwing a playing card.

It whistled through the air, skimmed past Han Enci's ear, and embedded itself deep in the wall beside him!

Han Enci's ear had been cut, and thin traces of blood seeped out. Fright left his hands and feet ice-cold, his face pale.

He swallowed with difficulty and looked at the purple-and-gold business card. Horror filled his face, and cold sweat streamed down it.

Naturally, Han Enci could tell at a glance whether the purple-and-gold business card was genuine.

Compared with the others in the company, he understood its significance even better.

Ji Chongwei only gave these purple-and-gold business cards to people of higher standing than himself. The last recipient had been Huaxia's richest man, Ma Kaixuan!

Fucking Wu Moling, you set me up! Friend, my ass! How could a bodyguard like you be friends with someone this important?! Han Enci wailed inwardly, suddenly feeling the urge to cry.

Had he known Lin Fei possessed a business card of such extraordinary significance, he would never have dared oppose him.

Han Enci struggled to his feet, his tall, slender frame hunched considerably lower.

He wiped the cold sweat from his face and apologized in a trembling voice. "So you're the chairman's honored guest. I truly had eyes but failed to see. I've offended you."

The contrast in Han Enci's behavior left Ji Yaoguang dumbfounded.

"Get out." Lin Fei could not be bothered to spare him another glance. He pulled over a stool and sat down.

"Yes!" Han Enci hurriedly responded, practically scrambling and crawling out of the office in utter disgrace.

Right behind him came the two bodyguards, thrown out through the door.

Han Enci's face flushed red, full of resentment and pent-up humiliation, as he thought bitterly:

I'm damn well going to find out who this Lin Fei is!
