Background / History

Ye Wushuang was a university student on Blue Star before his transmigration. During a trip, he encountered a Daoist who spoke about karma; after becoming distracted by a meteor, he was struck by a truck and subsequently awakened as a newborn in the Immortal Ancient World 1.

His new parents were Ye Lingxiao and Ji Luoshen, whose marriage had united the powerful Ye and Ji clans a hundred years earlier. His birth produced extraordinary phenomena and heavenly tribulation, which the Ye Clan’s Chaos Tower dispersed. The elders nourished him with divine treasures before discovering his Supreme Bone and witnessing the emergence of his system-granted Chaos Physique 1.

Although Ye Lingxiao remained at the border, he sent the Immortal-Slaying Sword to protect his son. The care of his parents and clan deeply affected Ye Wushuang, who had been alone in his previous life. He resolved to reach the world’s pinnacle so that he could preserve his new family and everything they had given him 1 2.

The ancestors raised him in the ancestral grounds and competed to teach him their specialties. His talent prompted the restoration of the long-dormant Divine Son position, which ranked above the ordinary Son of Heaven and entitled him to priority access to the lineage’s resources. The ancestors intended to announce this higher appointment at a gathering of prodigies; meanwhile, disciples knew him as the clan’s Heavenly Son 2 3 4 6.

Appearance

By eighteen, Ye Wushuang is tall and straight-backed, with exceptionally handsome features and a mature, steady gaze 4.

Personality

Ye Wushuang is openly ambitious and confident in his ability to surpass other cultivators. He rejects the idea that his destiny belongs to the Heavenly Dao, refusing its offered fortune and title rather than accepting an externally bestowed mandate. His confidence does not prevent him from respecting worthy opponents: he treats the masked sword cultivator’s challenge as a welcome opportunity for a genuine contest 4 7 33.

His loyalty centers on family, friends, and the clan that raised him. He refuses to gamble with his companions’ lives for an imperial weapon and accepts an otherwise unavoidable dragon-claw attack to keep others from being caught in it 34 36.

His private thoughts are considerably less aloof than his public demeanor. He enjoys displaying his strength, jokes about familiar novel conventions, and deliberately cultivates a handsome, composed image. He also flirts with women he finds attractive, though he establishes boundaries when Situ Xue attempts to embrace him 6 13 15 39.

He combines practical compassion with ruthlessness. He helps refugees he encounters and offers An Xuchen employment rather than humiliating charity, but kills persistent aggressors and devises a succession scheme intended to make the Sixth Prince experience hope before losing everything 14 42 48.
