Cold sweat trickled down Chu Tiannan's temple. He stared into the green eyes outside the window, and a foul-smelling gust rushed in through it. That Demon Beast... was actually clinging to the nearly vertical outer wall!
In an instant, it burst through the window!
It was a giant purple wildcat.
Its murky eyes brimmed with murderous savagery. The huge fangs jutting out on either side of its mouth were coated in cloudy slime and reeked unbearably, while its filthy fur clumped together.
Chu Tiannan thought fast, matching it to the information in his mind. This was a Junior Beast Soldier, a Purple Shadow Cat.
And the only humans who could contend with Beast Soldiers were martial artists, who, like the Demon Beasts, had emerged after being gradually strengthened by the Heavenly Pillar's mutation.
But he wasn't a martial artist!
The Purple Shadow Cat's figure abruptly vanished.
"Where is it?"
Chu Tiannan desperately tried to track that purple whirlwind in the air, but failed. Just then, a fierce stench suddenly assailed his nose.
Right before his eyes, a sharp claw stained with brown blood appeared out of thin air!
Too late!!
Chu Tiannan's pupils abruptly contracted!!!

At that critical instant, time suddenly stood still.
The sharp claw was less than a centimeter from the tip of Chu Tiannan's nose. The foul wind still surrounded him, but now, everything had stopped moving.
Because the building had tilted earlier, small objects inside the room had still been falling. Now, they too hung suspended in midair. Even the water spilling from a cup floated in the air in a strange arc.
