Chapters 26–41 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 26Asura Baleful Aura

Chen Qianqiu devoured the Asura Demon Sword’s baleful aura, ending its pressure on the valley and leaving him nourished but sleepy. As the Spirit Hall group withdrew, he considered how the battle had changed the future and wondered whether Qian Daoliu could suppress the sword.

  • Chen Qianqiu used his draconic might to compress the Asura baleful aura and swallowed it, turning it into nourishing energy.
  • The oppressive presence vanished from the valley, and Chrysanthemum Douluo, Ghost Douluo, Guang Ling, and Jiang Mo wondered what had happened.
  • Qian Xunji ordered everyone to stop pursuing Tang Hao and return to Spirit Hall.
  • Qian Xunji found Qian Renxue asleep against Xiao Hei and gently patted Chen Qianqiu before walking away.
  • Chen Qianqiu reflected on Qian Xunji surviving, Ah Yin remaining alive, and Tang San’s rebirth, then wondered how much power the Asura Demon Sword retained and whether Qian Daoliu could suppress it.

Ch. 27Feasting to His Heart's Content

Chen Qianqiu decided Spirit Hall could not risk a direct assault on the Clear Sky Sect and focused on growing stronger while the divine threat recovered. Three days later, he enjoyed Spirit Hall’s generous supply of treasures and newfound freedom to fly around its grounds.

  • Chen Qianqiu reasoned that Qian Daoliu might suppress the weakened Asura Demon Sword, but the danger and potential cost made attacking the Clear Sky Sect too risky.
  • Tang Hao escaped with Ah Yin and wondered whether their unborn child might awaken Blue Silver Grass instead of the Clear Sky Hammer, then concealed his doubts from her.
  • The Asura Demon Sword recognized that Chen Qianqiu had absorbed some of its power and, weakened by crossing space and time, fell into a deep slumber.
  • Over the next three days, Chen Qianqiu absorbed the Asura Baleful Aura and accepted crates of heavenly treasures from Qian Xunji, rapidly growing stronger.
  • Chen Qianqiu’s wings fully unfurled, and Spirit Hall’s people, including the consecrators, allowed him to fly freely around the grounds.

Ch. 28The Four Great Clans

Chen Qianqiu learned that Qian Xunji had negotiated peace with the Clear Sky Sect, which had traded away its four subordinate clans to Spirit Hall. Qian Renxue told him that Golden Crocodile Douluo would lead their upcoming mission to take over the clans.

  • Chen Qianqiu tested the power of his dark-gold wings and unleashed a storm of wind and lightning across a lake.
  • Qian Renxue trained more intensely under Qian Xunji, while Spirit Hall planned to give her a second soul ring from a Soul Beast at least five thousand years old.
  • Qian Renxue excitedly told Chen Qianqiu that they were going out again with Golden Crocodile Douluo.
  • Qian Renxue explained that Qian Xunji had visited the Clear Sky Sect for peace talks and promised to stop pursuing Ah Yin.
  • Tang Wei agreed to hand the Strength Clan, Defense Clan, Speed Clan, and Breaking Clan over to Spirit Hall to protect the Clear Sky Sect.
  • Qian Renxue said Golden Crocodile Douluo would oversee Spirit Hall's takeover of the Four Great Clans in case they resisted.

Ch. 29The Loyal Tai Tan

Chen Qianqiu accompanied Qian Renxue to meet the Four Great Clans as Golden Crocodile Douluo demanded their submission to Spirit Hall. After Tai Tan rejected the demand, Chen suggested bringing the grandchildren of Tai Tan and Bai He to Spirit Hall, and Golden Crocodile forced Tai Tan to his knees when he protested.

  • Chen Qianqiu flew to the Four Great Clans' meeting with Qian Renxue on his back.
  • Yang Wudi, Tai Tan, Bai He, and Niu Gao argued over whether to submit to Spirit Hall or remain loyal to the Clear Sky Sect.
  • Golden Crocodile Douluo arrived with Spirit Hall's entourage and demanded that the four clans serve Spirit Hall.
  • Yang Wudi submitted, while Tai Tan insisted the Clear Sky Sect had been forced to abandon them.
  • Chen Qianqiu suggested bringing Tai Tan's grandson Tai Long and Bai He's granddaughter to Spirit Hall to keep Qian Renxue company.
  • Tai Tan refused, and Golden Crocodile Douluo's pressure forced him to one knee as he spat blood.

Ch. 30Spirit Hall's goodwill

Golden Crocodile Douluo forced three of the Four Great Clans to submit to Spirit Hall, while Chen Qianqiu advised him to cripple Tai Tan rather than kill him. Golden Crocodile then revealed that Spirit Hall was placing the clans under Chen Qianqiu’s authority as an investment in his future.

  • Yang Wudi offered the Breaking Clan’s loyalty and his grandson Yang Zhong to Spirit Hall, while Tai Tan condemned him for betraying the Clear Sky Sect.
  • Niu Gao and Bai He submitted the Defense Clan and Speed Clan to Spirit Hall, with Bai He offering his granddaughter Bai Chenxiang as a token of loyalty.
  • Tai Tan refused to submit and insisted that the Strength Clan would remain loyal to the Clear Sky Sect, even if it meant death for him and his grandson.
  • Chen Qianqiu urged Golden Crocodile Douluo to cripple Tai Tan instead of killing him, and Golden Crocodile Douluo shattered Tai Tan’s meridians and left him crippled.
  • Golden Crocodile Douluo told Chen Qianqiu that Qian Daoliu had placed the Four Great Clans at his disposal, and Chen Qianqiu accepted the authority to assign them tasks.

Ch. 31Performance Appraisals

Chen Qianqiu imposed quotas and deadly performance appraisals on the Four Great Clans, assigning each clan labor under Spirit Hall’s control. That night, Tai Nuo and the Strength Clan secretly planned to sabotage their mining work while waiting for the Clear Sky Sect to recover.

  • Chen Qianqiu addressed the Four Great Clans and announced performance appraisals with execution for the least productive workers who failed their quotas.
  • Chen Qianqiu assigned the Strength Clan to mine ore, the Speed Clan to gather herbs, and the Breaking and Defense Clans to hunt Soul Beasts, with extra duties and rewards for poison-making.
  • Chen Qianqiu ordered Lor Diarra to divide his squad among the four clans and report suspicious activity.
  • Tai Nuo rallied the Strength Clan against Spirit Hall’s demands, then urged them to pass off inferior ore as good material and secretly undermine the work.

Ch. 32A sapling won't grow straight without pruning

Chen Qianqiu caught Tai Nuo giving him inferior ore and punished the Strength Clan by withholding food, then secretly withheld food from the other three clans as well. The hungry clansmen beat Tai Nuo and his people overnight, and the Strength Clan set off early for the mines the next morning.

  • Tai Nuo presented inferior ore as the Strength Clan's daily samples, but Chen Qianqiu recognized the poor quality after eating several pieces.
  • Chen Qianqiu rejected Tai Nuo's excuses and ordered the Strength Clan to go without food for a day; he then told Lor Diarra to withhold food from the other three clans too.
  • Yang Wudi, Bai He, and Niu Gao heard their clansmen complain about going hungry and blamed Tai Nuo for the punishment.
  • Soul Masters from the Breaking, Defense, and Speed Clans attacked the Strength Clan's camp and beat Tai Nuo and his clansmen.
  • The bruised Strength Clan assembled before dawn and headed to the mines, while Chen Qianqiu watched with satisfaction.

Ch. 33The Dejected Qian Renxue

Chen Qianqiu consumed the Four Great Clans’ treasury stores, awakened a deadly dragon breath, and grew more powerful. He found Qian Renxue crying because she feared he no longer needed her.

  • Chen Qianqiu rejected Lor Diarra’s offer to inspect the ore and continued managing the Four Great Clans.
  • Over several days, Chen Qianqiu devoured the clans’ treasury stores while their work system stabilized under his rule.
  • After consuming the last medicinal herbs, Chen Qianqiu grew black horns and awakened the Breath of Death, which withered everything in its path.
  • Chen Qianqiu went looking for Qian Renxue and found her crying on a hillside.
  • Qian Renxue told Chen Qianqiu she felt ignored and useless because he had not visited her and could now obtain food without her.

Ch. 34Production off the charts (minor revisions)

Chen Qianqiu comforted Qian Renxue before she left for Spirit City and gave her ideas for developing her Angel Martial Soul. After her departure, he worried about the reborn Tang San and continued strengthening his position through the Four Great Clans.

  • Chen Qianqiu reassured Qian Renxue that she mattered to him and encouraged her to go to Spirit City for special training.
  • Chen Qianqiu suggested ways to develop Qian Renxue's Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul by adding different elemental powers to its wings.
  • Qian Renxue fell asleep against Chen Qianqiu, who reflected that Tang San's rebirth and future knowledge threatened his advantage.
  • A Spirit Hall carriage took Qian Renxue away, and Chen Qianqiu watched her leave reluctantly.
  • Over the next half month, the Four Great Clans reached stable peak output while Lor Diarra stirred up rivalries among them, allowing Chen Qianqiu to keep growing stronger.

Ch. 35Lor Diarra wanted to get ahead

Chen Qianqiu assessed the growing strength and strategic position of his forces as Heaven Dou Empire scouts began investigating their activity. He sent Lor Diarra to gather intelligence on the surrounding powers while ordering his forces to continue their operations without provoking unnecessary conflict.

  • Yang Wudi reported that the Breaking Clan had killed six Thousand-Year Soul Beasts, and Chen Qianqiu rewarded them with extra bread and jam.
  • Lor Diarra brought Chen Qianqiu roast chickens and reported that Heaven Dou Empire scouts were investigating the Four Great Clans’ expanding operations.
  • Lor Diarra warned that Heaven Dou’s border garrisons were assembling, but Chen Qianqiu ordered his forces to continue as usual and not hold back if the empire made suspicious moves.
  • Chen Qianqiu tasked Lor Diarra with visiting Silves City, Sunset Forest, and nearby clans and sects to gather detailed intelligence while avoiding unnecessary conflicts.

Ch. 36The Evil Capitalist

Chen Qianqiu asked Yang Wushuang to prepare ways to alleviate Poison Douluo Dugu Bo’s poison, while plotting to claim the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. He harvested the encampment’s growing negative emotions and then sought writers to help manage the clans’ hostility.

  • Chen Qianqiu summoned Yang Wushuang and asked about Dugu Bo’s poison and whether it could be countered.
  • Yang Wushuang said he could likely cure poison Dugu Bo administered, but had only a twenty percent chance of alleviating poison from his Jade Phosphor Serpent Emperor Martial Soul.
  • Chen Qianqiu ordered Yang Wushuang to research a remedy and promised him whatever resources he needed.
  • Chen Qianqiu considered the other three clans’ loyalty uncertain and decided he ultimately needed to claim the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.
  • Chen Qianqiu absorbed the encampment’s accumulated negative emotions, then decided to prevent the clans’ hostility from turning into revolt.
  • Chen Qianqiu ordered a Soul Master to find nearby writers with literary reputations and bring them to him.

Ch. 37The Towering Clear Sky Sect

A Clear Sky Sect teacher glorified the sect and Tang Hao to its young disciples as the sect celebrated the birth of Tang San. Reborn with his memories and divine powers intact, Tang San assessed the altered circumstances, while Chen Qianqiu struggled with a mountain of letters from Qian Renxue.

  • A Clear Sky Sect teacher praised the sect and disparaged Spirit Hall, claiming Tang Hao had defeated its forces and escaped the Supreme Pontiff.
  • Tang Hu urged his classmates to cultivate harder and help the Clear Sky Sect keep Spirit Hall suppressed, while recalling his grudge against a golden-haired girl.
  • The sect's bell rang nine times, and the teacher announced that the Clear Sky Sect had welcomed an heir.
  • Tang San awoke as an infant in the sect and realized he had returned to the time of his transmigration, with the Sea God's Eight Wings and Trident but not the Asura Demon Sword.
  • Chen Qianqiu sneezed over a pile of letters from Qian Renxue and complained about how many she had written.

Ch. 38Silves Kingdom

Chen Qianqiu read Qian Renxue’s letters and dictated a reply before reviewing a register of nearby sects and clans. He went with Lor Diarra to visit the Spirit-Nurturing Sect, where they saw a group from the Silves Kingdom arrive first.

  • Chen Qianqiu read Qian Renxue’s worried letters and dictated a reply telling her he was well and urging her to take care of herself.
  • Lor Diarra gave Chen Qianqiu a detailed register of the surrounding powers, and Chen learned that water sources were valuable in the wasteland.
  • Chen Qianqiu asked Lor Diarra about the Spirit-Nurturing Sect, whose support-type Soul Masters and diverse Martial Souls caught his interest.
  • Chen Qianqiu and Lor Diarra traveled to the Spirit-Nurturing Sect to see whether its members might accept his protection.
  • Chen Qianqiu and Lor Diarra spotted a group in black outfits bearing blood-red wolf emblems approaching the sect, and Lor identified them as the Silves Kingdom.

Ch. 39The Spirit-Nurturing Sect

Chen Qianqiu and Lor Diarra intervened when Meng Shan threatened to destroy the Spirit-Nurturing Sect unless Liu Yan submitted to him. Chen Qianqiu killed Kuang Heng with his dragon breath, and Lor Diarra slaughtered the fleeing guards, leaving Meng Shan and the sect facing the aftermath.

  • Meng Shan and Kuang Heng confronted Liu Yan at the Spirit-Nurturing Sect, demanding a tripled security deposit and threatening her disciples.
  • Meng Shan pressured Liu Yan to become his mistress, while the sect's disciples urged her not to give in.
  • Chen Qianqiu attacked from above with dragon breath, accidentally missing his intended target and vaporizing Kuang Heng.
  • Chen Qianqiu named his attack Breath of Death and resolved to practice his aim.
  • Lor Diarra killed the remaining royal guards as they tried to flee.

Ch. 40Liu Yan

Chen Qianqiu captured Meng Shan and persuaded Liu Yan and the Spirit-Nurturing Sect to pledge loyalty, then inspected the sect’s facilities. Liu Yan recognized Spirit Hall’s connection and hinted at a history with it, prompting Chen Qianqiu to ask about her dealings.

  • Meng Shan tried to threaten and bribe Chen Qianqiu, then attempted to flee, but Chen Qianqiu captured him and ordered Lor Diarra to keep him alive for leverage against the Silves Kingdom.
  • Chen Qianqiu reflected on bloodline privilege and class divisions before turning his attention to Liu Yan and the Spirit-Nurturing Sect.
  • Liu Yan immediately swore the Spirit-Nurturing Sect’s loyalty to Chen Qianqiu, believing they needed his protection after the clash with the royal party.
  • Chen Qianqiu left Lor Diarra to handle the handover and toured the sect, noting its well-developed academy system and planning to use it in his territory.
  • Liu Yan asked whether Chen Qianqiu and Lor Diarra were from Spirit Hall; after he confirmed they were, she visibly relaxed, and he asked whether she had dealt with Spirit Hall before.

Ch. 41The military farming system

Chen Qianqiu reorganized the Four Great Clans and the Spirit-Nurturing Sect into a military farming system while ordering ideological classes for the clans. When he learned Silves and the Heaven Dou Empire might move against them, he flew to the Silves royal capital with Lor Diarra and Yang Wushuang, where Meng Tian faced a terrifying presence in his palace.

  • Chen Qianqiu assigned Spirit-Nurturing Sect support disciples to the Breaking Clan and ordered five-person mixed squads and coordination training for wartime.
  • Chen Qianqiu tasked Liu Yan with creating articles praising Spirit Hall and establishing compulsory ideological classes and examinations for the four clans.
  • Lor Diarra warned Chen Qianqiu that Silves and the Heaven Dou Empire might retaliate over Meng Shan, so Chen Qianqiu decided to strike first and summoned Yang Wushuang.
  • Chen Qianqiu carried Lor Diarra and Yang Wushuang to the Silves royal capital, while Meng Tian angrily considered Emperor Xue Ye's order to mobilize Silves's armies.
  • A suffocating pressure descended over Meng Tian's palace, blotting out the moonlight.
