Personality

Bibi Dong is ambitious and determined to bring Spirit Hall fully under her control. She initially envisions Hu Liena succeeding her as Pope, with Jiang Huai becoming the powerful supporter who will help maintain her faction’s authority. She also wants to become a god before Qian Renxue 5 6.

Her treatment of Jiang Huai changes under the influence of his system reward, “Pity from the Pope.” Upon meeting him, her attachment to Yu Xiaogang rapidly recedes, replaced by an intense concern for the child. The effect also makes her unusually willing to accept Jiang Huai’s explanations and interpret his concealed opportunities favorably 7 12.

As a teacher, she is diligent and protective. She researches suitable Soul Beasts late into the night, obtains difficult-to-access cultivation resources, and personally supervises dangerous breakthroughs. Her concern can become threatening: when Jiang Huai disappears into the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, she holds Yue Guan responsible for his safety 12 13 16 17.

Her affection for her disciples contrasts sharply with her ruthlessness toward others. She abducts Zhu Zhuyun to support Jiang Huai’s cultivation, publicly humiliates Qian Renxue, and threatens to continue slaughtering the Mermaid Clan until she obtains a suitable Soul Bone 25 38 39.

Background / History

Earlier Life and the Papal–Worship Hall Divide

Bibi Dong had been involved in Martial Soul theory research since her youth and once maintained a deep attachment to Yu Xiaogang. An earlier incident involving Qian Xunji left her with a broad hatred of men; before Jiang Huai, Hu Liena remained her only personal disciple. Bibi Dong later states that she used her Soul Devouring Spider Emperor to devour Qian Xunji completely 6 39 41.

Her history with the former Pope contributed to the hostility between the Papal Hall and Worship Hall. Although she held the papal office, important foundations of Spirit Hall—including its Soul Bone treasury—remained under the worshippers’ control 8 14.

She supported sending her daughter Qian Renxue to carry out the Heaven Dou infiltration plan partly to slow her cultivation and gain time for her own Rakshasa God Trial. Despite that intention, she became angry when reports showed that Qian Renxue had progressed only to Soul King 5.

Taking Jiang Huai as a Disciple

Feidinan’s report identified Jiang Huai as a child with Innate Full Soul Power, twin Martial Souls, and a possible foundation for self-fusion. Recognizing his potential, Bibi Dong sent Yue Guan and Gui Mei to escort him safely to Spirit City 6.

After the system reward took effect during their meeting, she accepted Jiang Huai as her second disciple, gave him a Storage Soul Tool, and promised to make him Spirit Hall’s Holy Son. She advised him to cultivate his White Tiger first so that a Nether Civet partner could accelerate his growth through the Hell White Tiger fusion 7 8.

To prepare him for an unusually powerful first Soul Ring, she confronted Golden Crocodile Douluo for his clan’s ancestral body-tempering method. Qian Daoliu ordered its release, and Bibi Dong supplemented Jiang Huai’s training with medicinal baths and preparations for a thousand-year first ring 11 12.

Sunset Forest and Dugu Bo’s Recruitment

Bibi Dong accompanied Jiang Huai, Hu Liena, and Yue Guan to Sunset Forest. At the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, she cleared Dugu Bo’s poisonous miasma and relied on Yue Guan to identify the Immortal Herbs growing inside 15 16.

While she was distressed over Jiang Huai entering the spring, Dugu Bo challenged her. She gravely wounded him with her two Spider Emperor Martial Souls, but spared him after Jiang Huai argued that his poison would be valuable to Spirit Hall 17 18.

She then compelled Dugu Bo to swear a Martial Soul Oath, offered resources to manage his family’s poison backlash, and accepted Dugu Yan as a nominal disciple. Dugu Bo received a ten-thousand-year right leg Soul Bone and instructions to remain undercover in Heaven Dou City 19 22.

Bibi Dong also completed her disciples’ Soul Hunts: Jiang Huai obtained a thousand-year Light Unicorn ring, while Hu Liena obtained an approximately three-thousand-year Purple Spirit Bei ring 20 21.

Securing a Fusion Partner

Bibi Dong personally abducted Zhu Zhuyun from Star Luo City. Using her Soul Power pressure, she forced the imperial family to accept the arrangement, surrender its Hell White Tiger cultivation notes, and acknowledge that Zhu Zhuyun’s ties to the Dai and Zhu families were severed 24 25.

After introducing Zhu Zhuyun to Jiang Huai, Bibi Dong rewarded their successful fusion with the Narcissus Jade Muscle Bone Immortal Herb. She subsequently oversaw their next Soul Hunts and recognized Jiang Huai’s developing radiance as the embryonic form of a domain 27 28 29.

Mermaid Hunt and Rank 99

Seeking a high-quality mental-type Head Soul Bone for Jiang Huai, Bibi Dong investigated the Mermaid Clan in the icy sea beyond the Far North Ice Plains. An encounter with its powerful leader forced her to withdraw and seek reinforcements. The Rakshasa God identified that leader, the Sea Princess, as a roughly 600,000-year Ferocious Beast 30 38.

When Qian Renxue threatened Jiang Huai, Bibi Dong intervened and forced her daughter to her knees. She exchanged leniency toward Qian Renxue for the Worship Hall’s assistance in hunting Soul Beasts for her second Martial Soul 37 38.

During the expedition, Bibi Dong and the worshippers devastated the Mermaid Clan. The dying Sea Princess offered her sacrifice and Head Soul Bone in return for the surviving mermaids’ lives. Bibi Dong accepted, absorbed the ring, and reached rank 99 39.

Preparing the Next Generation

After returning, Bibi Dong gave Jiang Huai and Zhu Zhuyun two Mermaid Clan Wisdom Skulls: one approximately 600,000 years old and the other 100,000 years old. She supervised their absorption, preparing them to pursue unusually old third and fourth Soul Rings 40.

She also approved Zhu Zhuyun’s proposal to investigate a three-person fusion involving Zhu Zhuqing, but initially chose to leave the younger girl in Star Luo. Five years later, after Jiang Huai emerged at level 50 with an evolved Holy White Tiger, Bibi Dong raised the possibility of bringing Zhu Zhuqing to Spirit City 41.
